Chapter 27
Chapter 27
Amelia and Levi headed to the man’s bedroom after they ate their meal. She was mesmerized with the interior decoration of his bedroom. The color of the wall was sky blue. There was a wide window where the man could look up at the sky and watch the clouds.
It was breathtaking and at the same time. She could say that it was relaxing.
This was exactly what she wanted for her own room. She wanted a wide-angle view of the sky so she could stare up to the clouds and even with the stars every night.
Amelia slowly understood why Levi chose to be here than to stay in Manila. Even if he was away from his parents, she knew that this was the kind of ambiance that the man needed.
“The medicine is in the drawer,” Levi commanded, which brought her back to her senses.
She was quiet as she quickly went to the place he pointed as soon as she had heard him. It was inside the drawer which was just at the bedside. She took the prescription and all the medicines that she saw from there as she had no information yet on what the man was taking.
“Don’t read it. I will tell you what I am going to take,” Levi said blandly. He took the medicine from her hand.
She was a bit surprised because of his cold treatment towards her. It was not cold but she found it rude.
Amelia was just looking at the man. She knew that he would be like this. He would show temper to her since there were just the two of them now. Elene and Uncle Mon were no longer around. So, he could say whatever he wanted to say to her. And Amelia had already expected that. She knew that she couldn’t blame him. She was sure that the man had recalled what happened between the two of them in the past. And, just like here, questions started to pop up inside his mind.
She felt bad because she added to the things that were making his mind in turmoil.
She wanted to sigh but she held herself. She didn’t want that to give any meaning to Levi. He was still her boss.
After Levi removed it in the strips, he put the medicine in his mouth. Amelia turned around to get water and as she poured the water from the pitcher into glass and gave it to him.
“Thank you,” Levi said and then he gulped the glass of water.
Amelia was just quietly looking at him. Until he was already done drinking, “I think you can take a rest. Tomorrow, we can start our first session,” she mumbled.
Levi nodded his head. “Can you call Uncle Mon? So, he can help me get up on my bed,” he said.
“I can help you,” she suggested. She just said that because she felt that it was a part of her role as his nurse.
She had been doing that to most of her patients and she didn’t think that it would be a problem at all.
But it looked like it had a different meaning to Levi. She saw his jaws hardened. And then he was looking at her as if he didn’t like what she had said.
“Alright, let me just call him,” she said and then she turned around without waiting for his response. She came out of the room and looked for Uncle Mon.
She never thought that aside from his situation, the man also became temperamental though she couldn’t blame him for that. She knew that he was trying to cope up with his situation and Levi would be very sensitive when it comes to a lot of things.
She should have known that this would happen, especially that she became his nurse.
Amelia found the old man in the backyard. He looked so busy, but she had no choice because Levi only wanted the old man to help him to get up on his bed.
“Uncle Mom, do you mind helping me? Levi needs to sleep on his bed, and he needs some help to get up,” she said to the old man.
Uncle Mon put down what he was doing and then nodded at her.
“Yes, Miss Amelia. I am just going to wash my hands,” the old man replied as he went to the faucet and washed his hands. She chose to get inside the house and prepare Levi’s bed while waiting for Uncle Mon.
She saw the man holding a book when she came inside.
“Can you read this for me?” He said as soon as he saw her.
“Yes, I can do that,” she replied and then she pulled the duvet in the bed.
It didn’t take a while and Uncle Mon got inside Levi’s room. He then helped Levi to get on the bed after that he left them.
“Thank you, Uncle Mon,” Levi said to the old man who just smiled in response.
Amelia covered him with a quilt and then after that she took the book that Levi was holding earlier. It was on the top of the side table. She was about to start to read the book when they heard the door suddenly open.
It was Elene.
“Cousin, Best, I am going home now,” Elene said and then after that she walked in her direction. She kissed her cheeks.
“Take care when driving. Focus our eyes on the road,” Levi said.
“Sure, I will take care of myself. I still need to attend your wedding,” Elene mumbled, which made her shocked but quickly recovered.
She would see to it that she would be pinching her best friend for being so naughty. She had already told her to stop teasing them but still she continued teasing her to Levi even if they could already see that the man’s nose almost let out a fire.
