Chapter Hundred-and-Fifty-Four
**Third Person POV**
“I just wanted to let you know that King Time is getting impatient,” Derek said. Princess Eris turned to look at him with a question on her face.
“Has he not heard what has happened? By the way, he is responsible. What the fuck is he doing with the times? Eh? Why is everything so messy? Hades had time… He was yet to complete his reign. He had a bloody fiery moon to see…” Princess Eris was in a fit of rage now. It was easier to let out her emotions when there was someone to blame for what was happening.
“Perhaps, you can let him know?” quipped Derek.
“Fine… Prepare my things. I need to pay the bastard a quick visit,” returned Princess Eris.
Princess Eris went to her chambers and set about the task of preparing herself for the King of Time. As she adorned herself she remembered the maid Lucian had defended. Lucian had mentioned she was some reincarnated soul; she would have to confirm that from Time. She understood her son was angry with her at the moment but she knew he would come to his senses soon. She also knew that he was not dumb enough to know that her cookies were what brought her to the senior court in the first place where she could be seen by Hades and where she had seduced him. It was her cookies that also ensured that his tutors gave him a higher score than he earned so that he could be seen as Lucian's equal. He was stupid to look down on her cookies especially because they were going to sit him on the throne.

Regina was left alone abruptly. She was all alone in that big throne room with so many eyes on her that she did not know what to do. She did not know where to turn; Lucian had been by her side one second and then he was not. She stood there for a while frozen in place and too afraid to move or do anything lest she attract the attention of some creature with evil intentions.
However, in the midst of all the noise, she noticed something on the far end of the room. She saw two shadows. The shadows looked like they belonged to her twins. The shadows on the wall had the same shape of body as did her children and Charlotte’s hair was parked the way she liked to do her daughter's hair. The shadows were on the wall and they stood in place. They were not moving and she could feel her children calling out to her to save them. Her heart leaped for joy and she began to make her way to the other end of the room jostling her body through the thick crowd. She managed to get there eventually and she was so close to touching the shadows but they moved bidding her to follow.
“What do you think you're doing?” she turned to see Lucian standing behind her. She turned again to see where the shadow was but it was gone.
“I… I… there was a shadow and I…”
“There are no shadows here, Marilyn. There is no sun here and so there is no shadow,” explained Lucian.
“But I…”
“Your thoughts took the form of a shadow. You must be very careful here, Marilyn. Being my woman is not going to be enough to protect you here,” Lucian said.
“I never said I needed protection,” returned Regina.
“Come here,” Lucian held her hand firmly and walked her in the opposite direction. As Regina walked regardless she saw a familiar face. She stopped walking and turned around to see the person more clearly. She had to be mistaken. What was Nydia doing here? How could she be here? Why had she come here? Was she with her twins?
She walked up to the lady who looked like Nydia and was about to tap her when Lucian stopped her.
“You cannot do that!”
“Why not? What is up with you anyway?” she demanded. She was here to look for her children and was not interested in whatever power tussle was going on at the moment.
“Your mind is playing games with you, Marilyn. The shadows and seeing people you think you know. Listen to me; Hades has just passed away. There is no one guarding the gates of hell. There are all sorts of dangerous creatures disguised as innocent things crawling about now. You cannot just wander about okay? Please, you have to let me help you,” it was more of a plea.
“Okay, okay,” Regina gave in because she knew that if she was ever going to reunite with her children she had to remain alive.
“But you will answer my questions. I want the truth; the whole truth this time,” said Regina.
“Fine, but you have to follow me somewhere first,” Lucian said.
“Where? Where are we going?” The grip on Regina's hand was tighter and did not at all feel safe. She looked at Lucian and wondered what was so different about him that was making her feel scared and then she realised in horror that it was not Lucina who held her hand; the face had morphed into some creature with long red fangs and blazing red eyes and he was grinning hard at her terrified face.
“You will make a lovely dinner,” the creature was blabbing.
Regina screamed but there was no voice. She tried to scream again but she was not successful. Tears began to stream down her face; this was not how she had envisioned her life would end. She was crying and trying desperately to remove her hand from the creature's hand but she was not successful.
“You are so pitiful looking,” said the creature, enjoying itself rather thoroughly.
_Tell him he has no power over your mind_ Raven's voice broke through Regina's fear.
“You have no power over my mind,” Regina was surprised to see that she had her voice and she was even more pleased to see the creature hiss and drop her hand.
