Chapter Forty-three
Regina surprised me, however. She had the poise of someone who was born royal.
“Do you like her now?” voiced Kane in my head.
“Shut up,” came my response.
Then it occurred to me that all this while I had assumed Regina’s parentage, I had not asked where she was from. But I figured that if she were a princess, she would have said something sooner to avoid getting captured.
“Well Luna, the meet is upon us,” Elder Walker said. I did not expect Regina to know what he was saying and I was about to respond to Elder Walker when Regina surprised me with a response, “I have been looking forward to meeting the people myself. I have to admit that I am a bit nervous.”
“I am sure the people will embrace you with open arms. You do not have to worry,” said Elder Davis.

Gina's POV
“Where do you come from?” asked Alpha Dagen. We had long since finished dinner with the two Elders that had come. After dinner, I went straight to my room. As I tried to evaluate the information I had received, Alpha Dagen walked in. He seemed angry about something. I was not sure what.
“Come from?” It was a strange question considering the fact that all the while I had been here he had never bothered with my origin. I looked at his handsome face made seductive by the dim candlelights. What would he do if he were to find out I was a princess? At least by birth, I was. I tried to imagine what would happen if my birth was discovered. Will that stop Alpha Dagen from killing me? Perhaps because he feared retaliation from my father?
And what about my father? If he knew that I had become Alpha Dagen’s mate, how would that make him feel? Would that fuel his hatred for me? Or would he try to move past our strained relationship and forge a new one? Or would he simply try to take advantage of my new station in life?
“I don’t know. I cannot remember,” came my response. I said it with no doubt in my voice and no fear as I looked directly into his eyes. There was nothing that would make me reveal where I had come from. My father’s people had not known me anyway and the ones who did would deny that I was Alpha George’s daughter. So if I claimed to be of Royal blood and my father denied knowledge of my existence, I would be executed at once for treason.
“You cannot remember? Well, let me jog your memory. On the night you were found, you were fleeing somewhere and trying to reach another place. You claim yourself that you entered Mosvil by mistake and this map was found on you,” he produced the map Camille had given me.
I looked away from the map as if it held no interest to me but it did and in the few seconds I had looked at it I had captured it in my mind so that I could sketch it later.
“If I remember correctly, your guards assaulted me that night. I was beaten so much that I suffered memory loss,” I said my lie calmly but boldly.
“Memory loss? Have you any idea how ridiculous that sounds? Memory loss because you were beaten? Huh? Perhaps they damaged your womb in the process and you are useless to me. How about I end your miserable life now?” his blue eyes turned slightly gray in anger.

Dagen's POV
She seemed unaffected by my raised voice and simply shrugged her shoulders. The line between my anger and lust was thus becoming blurred really fast. I tore my gaze from her smooth pale shoulders and rested them on her eyes but the green of her eyes had a bluish hue to them; they seemed to call me like sirens call to captains at sea and I was rendered helpless to her call.
My lips met hers and although it was not the first time, I had forgotten and was now reminded of how soft and sweet they tasted. My hands found the peak of her shoulders and the smoothness of her skin beneath my finger was incomprehensible.
A gasp escaped her lips and drove my member wild with desire. My tongue longed for the pebble on her breasts and at once my lips kissed their way through to her nipples. Her moans drove me to the point of no return.
I gathered her into my arms and dropped her on the bed. My hands traveled restlessly across her body and my tongue discovered new flavours within her mouth. I could wait no longer and from the current that passed through her body I knew the same was for her. In one swift motion, I thrust myself within her and rode until our breaths became ragged.
When it was all done, my senses took a while before they came back to me.
“Whatever it is that you are, I will find out,” I said as I stood up from her bed. She said nothing and only looked at me with misty eyes.
“You bastard! Did you not say that you have no feelings for her?” taunted Kane.
“What? You’re ignoring me now? It is not I but you who fucked her so…”
“SHUT UP,” I said out loud that the guards that stood in the corridor looked at me in alarm. I cleared my throat as though to clear the awkwardness and continued walking.
“You do have feelings for her. You were only ashamed that the moon goddess paired you with a common girl but now that she may not be a common parentage you are interested,” Kane went on, unburdened by my shout.
“I love Nydia, she is…”
“Then why did you send her away?” questioned Kane. I found that I had no good answer to that question. Whatever response I give would only sound like an excuse.
