Chapter Two-Hundred-And-Seventy-Two

**3rd Person POV**

Nydia had been running about for days; she’d hid in several different places by the hour. She was being very careful so as not to get caught.

Her problem did not start when she shot Major Drieden but when she shot Prince Harlin.

Initially, her plan was to kill Drieden and escape the palace at once but it had been too tempting to leave the palace without first incriminating. After all, if she had run away just like that and Drieden had been found first, she would have been blamed for the crime and it would not be long before she was found.

So she had placed a fake gun in Charlotte's room and put some bullets in the wardrobe for good measure. Then she had delivered the note to Lowell and Francesca—the idea had been to cause confusion within the palace so nobody would be thinking of her and she would be long gone before anyone noticed her absence.

Her plan however had failed terribly because as soon as Major Drieden was discovered dead, the palace was sealed up and so she was stuck. Anyone who had to leave the palace for any reason at all would be thoroughly checked and must have a signed note from the head butler. It was therefore impossible for her to leave without getting caught.

After waiting for a few days, she decided it was time to climb the walls so she could leave. The walls were however very tall and had no support for climbing. She scripted the entire palace until she came across the private garden.

It was perfect. The walls were not too tall and the thick growth of ivy on the wall would provide her with enough support to get to the other side. What she did not know however was that the ivies were poisonous to non-royal members of the family which was why the walls of that place needed no protection.

She did not however make it to the ivies when she saw Prince Harlin standing in the middle of the palace with Princess Gabriella.

The duo did not notice her but she was already itching to kill them when she felt someone attempt to strangle her. She shook the person off and standing in front of her was Lowell.

“It was you, wasn't it? You gave me the letter so you could pin his death on me,” spat Lowell with spite.

An evil smile had formed on Nydia's lips. He looked very angry with her.

“My plan didn't work, did it? You are not behind bars,” she said.

“You bitch! I will kill you,” came his loud response.

He had spoken a little too loudly because, at that moment, Harlin looked up.

Nydia had been quick, she had raised the gun and shot in Harlin's direction. Part of the reason for that had it had stemmed from hate another reason was pure hatred. To her, it was unfair that Irvette had gotten to keep her baby and beyond that, she had been forgiven. It had never made sense to her that upon her return to the earth, she had been exiled—banished forever from her home.

Much later while living with Drieden, she had got to know that Irvette had been made queen and what more? She'd had a baby and Queen Emily was its godmother. Everything about the situation had screamed injustice.

Irvette had been causing harm to the werewolf clan alongside George long before she had joined them. So why did she get to go unpunished and she was banished from her home.

So, when she had seen Prince Harlin in King Armand's palace and had known that he was Irvette's only child, her anger had been stirred up and she wanted nothing else but to see the boy dead. It did not matter that she knew for a fact that Irvette had been taken away from her son and she was now somewhere that only an army could deliver her from.

She had shot in Harlin's direction but not at Harlin. But Harlin had turned around to protect the vampiress that faced him so that the bullet hit him instead. He was shot and Lowell still stood there in momentary shock.

“You were trying to kill me, huh? I'll see you in hell,” she had said and had shot at Lowell before he could run away.

The shots had been loud and she was afraid she would have been heard so she had to run away again. In a haste, she had sought refuge in an abandoned shed in the garden. Just as she expected, she heard footsteps approaching and she saw Harlin being brought into the shed. She was well hidden behind some tools but if she moved even a little she would be discovered.

She waited in the same still position for hours until the garden was quiet again.

When she came out of the shed, she saw two guards patrolling the garden. Her only means of escape was no longer available.

There was however only so much hiding she could do because since she had murdered Drieden, she had not eaten a thing. She was getting increasingly weak and she knew that it was important for her to keep her strength—she would need it to escape.

The fear of getting caught however kept her in the same place for a few more days. Her wolf however could not continue going hungry so during midday while the guards were taking a short nap under a shade (they were vampires and could not bear the heat of the sun) she snuck out of the garden and into the main palace.

She had gone in through the kitchen as her main concern was with food.

To her luck, she found that the kitchen was deserted. She opened cupboard after cupboard until she saw one that contained some raw meat. She tore the nylon and began to feed her hunger.
