Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Fifty
**3rd Person POV**
***THREE YEARS LATER***
“I'm so happy for you, Ivy,” said Regina as she hugged her cousin and friend. Harlin was finally getting married after all these years. It had taken a lot to convince the ministers that there was only one woman for Harlin but it had been worth it. The pure joy on the face of the couple was more than anyone could ask for.
“They're all married! Can you believe it?” quipped Emily as she watched the famous trio chatting animatedly in a corner. Even though they were married and in different kingdoms their friendship bond had only gotten stronger.
“I'm just so happy for all of them, especially Reginald, I'm happy he's moved on. He seems to love Arabella very much,” remarked Irvette.
“Is there something you would like to share with us all, Ivy?” quipped Alison, urging her sister to share the good news.
“Well, Caephas and I are getting married,” said Irvette in a shy tone.
The ladies screamed in excitement and then took turns hugging her.
“This feels like deja vu,” remarked Emily. It did because it was the same manner in which Regina had announced her marriage to them.
“I cannot believe it! We have another wedding to plan!” exclaimed Harriet with excitement.
“Tell me now that the venue for the wedding is in the skies!” Regina said. She could imagine it, it would be glorious.
“Nothing is decided yet but I was thinking of hosting a small intimate ceremony. It's my second time, I don't want to make a fuss,” said Irvette.
The women all looked at themselves and for a full minute they said nothing; then they collectively burst out laughing as though Irvette had said something funny.
“She wants a small wedding!” laughed Alison even harder.
“She used the word intimate!” laughed Emily who herself had had an intimate wedding.
“Ladies, I think we should respect her wishes,” voiced Harriet although her cheeks were hurting from laughing too much.
“You’ll get your intimate wedding alright. Just about two hundred persons should do, is that intimate enough for you?” asked Emily.
Even Irvette laughed. She knew there was no way she was getting an intimate wedding.
As she shared laughs with her friends she realised that she had come a long way. There had been a time when Regina was her sworn enemy. She had wanted to outdo Regina at everything and she had been insanely jealous of the small palace maid that she had thought at the time was the daughter of her father's mistress.
She could not believe there was a time in her life when she had been hypnotized completely and had gone as far as to kidnap her cousin's twin children. It felt surreal that even with all she had done in her past, especially to Regina, they were now good friends. They were more than friends even, they were family who loved one another and looked out for their best interests.
“That's your bae, he's coming this way,” said Emily in a teasing tone as she was referring to Caephas who was walking towards them.
“May I have this dance?” Caephas asked Irvette.
The other women made silly noises as they teased their friend.
“Mummy, Charlotte won't give me any more cake,” Regina looked down to see her lastborn child, Angelina.
She bent down a little and said, “Perhaps you've had too many already?”
“No! I've only had like,” Angelina paused and cocked her head to the side as though in deep thought as she counted imaginary cakes in the air with her fingers. When she was done counting, she looked at her mother and said, “Seven? Ten? Anyway, I've not had more than fifteen slices of cake.”
“Fifteen slices!” Regina exclaimed.
“That's too many, isn't it?” Angelina slowly realised that she had put herself in trouble by revealing she had eaten too much cake when she had been told specifically not to have more than three slices of cake.
She took slow steps backwards before running away from Regina.
Regina chased after the girl and shouted, “Wait till I catch you, young lady!”
But Angelina knew just the place to go in order to escape from her mother's wrath. She ran straight into her father's legs and hugged one of his strong legs as tight as she could.
Dagen looked down to check what warm thing had attached itself to him and his face broke into a smile when he saw his little princess.
But Angelina was not smiling. Her face looked troubled and in a hurried tone, she said, “Quick! Lift me up! Mother is coming!”
Just before Regina could catch the little scoundrels, Dagen had lifted her up in his strong arms.
Angelina had a smile of triumph on her cute face. She was safe in Daddy's arms and no one could touch her here, not even her mother.
“You get down now, young lady!” commanded Regina but Angelina only stuck her thumb into her mouth to show that she was flagrantly defying her mother. She was aggravating her mother on purpose.
“You're spoiling her, you know that,” said Regina as she folded her hands under her bosom. She was sometimes jealous of her daughter who seemed to be the centre of Dagen's world since her birth.
“She's my little button, isn't she so cute?” quipped Dagen as he kissed his daughter's forehead.
“She's not cute! She's a little devil!” returned Regina passionately.
“How can you say that? Just look at that innocent face, she can do no wrong,” Regina shook her head, she could not believe that Dagen was blind to all the antics of their little child.
“Daddy? I want cake,” Angelina said in the cutest voice.
“No more cake for you missus!” said Regina. She could not believe her own daughter.
“What sort of cake, love?” asked Dagen fondly.
“The velvet! I want velvet!” squealed Angelina with delight.
“Velvet, chocolate, vanilla, you're having none of the above.”
“Then I guess I'll settle for the banana cake,” said Angelina and in spite of herself Regina laughed.
