Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Eight

3rd Person POV

You're really going to his room to do what? To protest that you're no longer his Luna or is that just an excuse to get laid? After all, it has been so long that…

“Shut up! Shut up, Raven!” Regina shouted again, forgetting that the maid was now looking at her as though she had lost her senses.

Despite what her wolf had said to her, she put on her slippers and slipped on her robe (she had stripped herself upon entering the robe).

Really? Just your robe? Nothing beneath it but your nakedness?

“Perhaps, I should shower. I've had a long day,” she said out loud for the benefit of the maid. She did not like being tended to but sometimes she did not hate it. The maid was relieved to leave the presence of the eccentric Luna. When she had prepared the bath, she informed the lady that she had done so.

Regina stripped herself off the robe and walked into the bath. She soaked herself in the warm water and moaned her satisfaction. The water seemed to loosen her tensed muscles and she loved the scent of the wash. She would have to ask the maid for the ingredients later.

After a good soak, she stepped out of the shower looking as fresh as she smelt. She put on a red robe that was loosely tied about her body and nothing else then she made her way out of the room.

You're a hypocrite!

“Shut up!”

You're going to seduce him.

“I'm going to ask him a question.”

Please spare me the hypocrisy!

If Regina could see her wolf right now, she would have strangled it to its death because sometimes Raven was just too truthful for her own good.

She made her way to Dagen's quarters. Even after all these years, she could still remember her way around this place. When she got there, the guards at the door stopped her. The Alpha had not told them that he would be entertaining a woman tonight. Besides, this woman, although clad in a thin red robe, was very angry looking and so it did not appear like a pleasure visit but rather a murder visit.

“I demand to see the Alpha!” shouted Regina at the guards. Her hope was that Dagen would hear her voice and come to open the door for her.

“I am afraid, madam but the Alpha is indisposed to visit at this time. I kindly ask that you return to your quarters ma’am,” one of the guards said to her in a polite tone. There were many women guests in the palace that night from reputable homes so they were being careful not to offend her as they believed she was one of the many that had come by this evening offering to keep the Alpha company in his bed.

“You tell your Alpha that I will see him now!” she demanded. The guards looked at one another. This was going to be a difficult one to send away. They did not want to resort to force but they just might have to do so.

“Ma’am I'm afraid we'll have to escort you out if you do not leave now,” the tone was polite but also threatening.

“You wouldn't dare lay a finger on me,” said Regina.

The guards shared a look among themselves. They would have to resort to force after all.

Two guards grabbed her on either arm and made to move her away. She struggled against them but their grip on her was strong.

“What's the matter? Regina?” the guards let go of her the second Dagen stepped out of his quarters.

“Your Majesty, we apologize for the disturbance. We were just telling this lady…”

“It's alright. Regina?”

Now that she was face to face with him she struggled to find words. She had quite forgotten why she had come here in the first place.

“You… You… I'm not your Luna!” she said, suddenly recalling why she had gone through all these troubles.

“Let's talk inside,” said Alpha Dagen, holding the door open for her. He had been trying to take a walk to clear his head but when he opened the door and saw the commotion, he decided he could always take a walk. Besides, this was an opportunity he did not want to miss.

He held the door open but he half expected that she would refuse to enter his room. However, Regina was full of surprises because she marched into the room. He wondered about his safety; she appeared to be very angry about something.

He shut the door behind her and faced her.

“I am not your Luna!” she said, her voice sounding furious.

“Okay? I know that. You've made that quite clear,” but things were not clear to Dagen. Under the dim light of his room, he could smell her sweet scent. It appeared to him that she had just had her bath because she smelt like lilacs. He could see her nipples rubbing against the thin fabric of her robe. He wondered if the robe was silk or cotton and more especially what her skin would feel like underneath the fabric. All he could think of was that it had been too long, way too long since he'd taken her to his bed.

“So why did you put me in the room you made for your Luna, huh? If you're planning to…” Dagen was not listening. He was watching how her lips closed and opened at intervals. They were pink and looked succulent; he wondered if they were as soft as he remembered them to be.

“Are you even listening to me?” he certainly wasn't. He realised there was only one way to find out if everything was like he had once known it.

He kissed her.

There was no rejection; no protest, just a feverish dance of tongues as the two struggled to out-kiss each other.
