Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Forty-One
3rd Person POV
“Why are you here? To gloat?” she remembered that her father had given her a choice. He had wanted her to marry Time but she was not interested in settling down. When seducing her stepson had failed, she had resorted to doing other things.
“I came for you, I want you, Eris,” he said.
“You mean, you want a sex slave and I am not interested in your offer,” it was surprising for Hades to see that she still had some decency.
“You will be my queen here in hell, not in the sky, I hear that you have been banished from the sky forever,” said Time, his voice was calm and full of affection. Hades could not understand how any man would want Eris knowing fully well that she was so evil.
“Are you listening to a word I am saying? I am not interested in you,” said Eris.
“I know how stubborn you can be but the offer is on the table when you choose to change your mind,” Time said to her. He bowed slightly to Hades and was out of the courtroom.
Hades turned his attention to Eris. He could not believe that she would choose not to get married to Time. It was literally her only way out of this mess.
“I will ask you one more time, Eris. Will you confess to your sins?” Hades asked.
“I have committed no sin.”
“Then you leave me no choice, the Horns of Hell shall judge you themselves,” he commanded her to be bound afterwards and taken away to her cell.
Hades commanded Euphrates to be brought for trial. She had been stripped of all her powers and without that, she was now plain old Nydia.
“Do you admit to collaborating with a man who claimed to be Nydia’s twin in order to commit treason?” Hades hoped that this would go well. However, he was not particularly worried if she refused to admit to her sins. She was a mere mortal without any powers and he could send her to her punishment without any confession. This was just a formality.
“I was so foolish, how could I have believed that Carlos could defeat Caephas? It was just that the sex was so great, you know?” Hades tried to keep a poket face but it was very hard to do so. He could not believe that Eris had gone as far as to sleep with Nydia as Carlos.
In a way, he was glad that she had refused Time’s help. She needed to be punished.
“The sex was great?” Hades could not help himself.
“He knew all the right places to touch, the things he did with his tongue. He was the best, I’m telling you,” said Nydia as she moaned from the memory.
“Am I to understand that you feel no remorse for what you did?” asked Hades. That was the entire point of the trial.
“You know who should feel remorse? Regina, Aurora—how could they do that to me? They changed my identity and…”
“So no remorse.”
“And what happens to Irvette? Nothing! She even becomes Queen and they all forgive her! Imagine stupid Caephas falling for her. What does he see in her that he did not see in me?”
“I have determined that you feel no remorse. Therefore, I hereby sentence you to a thousand years of anguish after which your soul will be extinguished.”
Nydia said nothing. She had expected this much and she knew there was no escaping this.
“Is there anything you want before you begin your punishment?” asked Hades. To his surprise, she had taken the sentencing pretty well.
“Yes, I want to see Carlos.”
“May I ask why?”
“I want him to make love to me one last time,” replied Nydia.
Hades was surprised by this request but he was not going to question it.
“I will ask Carlos if he will do that and if he refuses, I will ask you one more time what your last wish is,” said Hades.
He knew that Regina had said they were never to see each other but Hades had sentenced Nydia already and perhaps Eris would confess when Nydia confronted her with the crime. It would make his job a lot easier because he was dreading having to summon the horns of hell.
Hades commanded that Nydia be taken to a sealed room. Then he went to ask Eris about Nydia's request.
“I'm that good,” she winked at Hades when she heard the request.
“I am not interested. If you want to…”
“I do.”
Hades shut his eyes for a second. It was getting increasingly difficult to keep a poker face.
“You can only go there as Carlos, you are bound under oath. Do you understand?” Hades asked her.
With the oath, she could not shape-shift into herself or any other person.
“I understand.”
When Carlos entered the room, Nydia was already undressed but first, she was going to give him a piece of her mind.
“You deceived me!” she shouted upon seeing Carlos but Carlos only smiled and asked, “Do you really want to waste this time arguing when there's so much we can do?”
“You must tell me first why…”
But Carlos had closed the distance between them and had placed his hand between her legs. She shivered with pleasure from the touch, forgetting everything she had wanted to say to him.
Meanwhile, Eris was very pleased with herself. She knew that the only reason Hades had agreed to this was to get her to admit to something. She knew how trial worked in hell, she was still on trial even though she was not in a courtroom.
Hades paced outside the room waiting for Eris to admit that she had done something wrong but all he heard were moaning sounds from beyond the door. For a fleeting moment, he was tempted and wondered how good Eris had to be to make her the dying wish of someone.
