Chapter Hundred-and-Ninety-Two

**3rd Person POV**

Princess Eris was mourning the loss of her son. It had not been an easy fight. When Aegan had tried to take the throne forcibly and dared Lucian to a duel, she had begged him to stop. He had not listened to her so she had run to the King of Time hoping to use his help to enable her son to win this duel only that Time would do nothing to help her except she marry him. She had outright refused and now her son no longer existed. His soul had been dashed into a million fragments.

Now she was gearing up for a run from the palace and her father. However, she was not certain how she could hide under the radar from King Hades and her father.

“Will you consider me now? After all, I am Hades,” Lucian was smiling warmly at Regina. Her help had gone a long way in making him win the duel. Before Lucian had gone to fight, Regina had done the unthinkable. She had sliced her skin open with a knife and smeared her blood on him. Such a gesture _under_ meant that she had given him a piece of her soul. He had not been too pleased with the gesture because that meant she had reduced her life span for him to win.

“I will not but since you owe me, I need a portal so I can return to my children,” replied Regina.

“The fiery red moon is in the sky. You don't think it's dangerous?”

“All the more reason why I must return to my children,” said Regina.

“Will you marry Dagen? It would make sense because of your children and…”

“No. I want to be my own woman.”

Alison inspected the site where George had been supposedly burnt. The investigators had assured her that there was no sign of her sister being there but she needed to see the place for herself. As she walked around the ashes and the little that had survived in the fire, she spotted a locket. She picked up the locket and examined it closely. She had never seen it before so she concluded that it must belong to one of the villagers. Moreover, it was too ordinary looking to belong to her sister whom she knew had a bias for shiny things.

Regardless, she felt a pull towards the locket. She opened the locket and she found a picture. In the picture, she could identify Irvette and their mother and she guessed that the baby in her mother's arm was Irene. It appeared to be a family picture but the man in the picture was clearly not George. It had to be their father, Reuben. Tears dropped from Alison's eyes in torrents. It was definitely a picture taken before George had stolen their family. She regretted that she had been too young to remember anything.

The locket had to belong to Irvette. Judging by how far the locket was from the site of the burning, Alison guessed that Irvette must have found a way to escape and dropped the locket. She hoped that was the case and that her sister was still alive.

She held the locket close to her chest. She was going to find her sister by all means.

“A good defence is a good offense,” said Tyler. He was before the Council of Elders and several representatives of other werewolf packs. They had come to discuss the strategies they could employ going forward. It seemed like only the Shadow claw pack had found a way to reduce its vulnerability to the vampires. Other packs were not having such a good time.

“Are you suggesting that we take the fight to the door of the vampires?” asked one general. It did sound like a good idea only that they had not prepared for such a scenario. It could end up getting them all killed.

“They will not expect it. Besides, I have seen the way they fight; they believe they are stronger creatures than we are,” Tyler said in defence of his suggestion.

“It will not be necessary, the King of Hades has assured me that he would force the vampires back to their den,” everyone's attention turned to the door where Regina had just made an entrance.

The surprise was apparent on everyone's face. In the midst of all the heat, they had forgotten about Regina.

Everyone was tongue-tied. No one was even sure how they were supposed to address her.

“I did not mean to interfere but Hades thought it would be funny if I ended up here,” she flashed a smile at the flustered men and women that were in the room before turning her back to leave the place.

When she had told Hades (formerly Lucian) to create a portal that would lead her back to her world, he had decided to bring her to Dagen's palace. She knew he had done so to pull her legs or perhaps as petty revenge for rejecting his love.

Dagen left the room to run after her. He caught up with her and blocked her path.

“What is it?” she asked, rolling her eyes at him. The last thing she needed was a confrontation with Dagen. She made a mental note to kill Hades when she saw him again.

“I met the twins. They're beautiful,” he returned with a beautiful smile Regina had not known possible.

“I see. What now?” she was guessing he had not stopped her to tell her that she had beautiful children. She knew there was something more.

“I want to be a part of their lives, Regina. Please allow me to do that,” his tone was pleading but Regina had just returned from hell and she was not feeling very kind.

“Let's talk later, okay?” Regina returned. She did not want this conversation to go on any longer.

“I know I have not been the best person…”

“I cannot do this now. Please let me go.”
