Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Forty-Nine
**3rd Person POV**
“A way for us to cohabit? And how will that work?” Irvette was indeed curious.
“A portal,” he said. He knew the concept would be strange to her.
“Portal?”
“Yes, I can create a portal in your home.”
“That sounds freakish,” Irvette's facial expression told him that the idea was weird to her.
“I understand, perhaps we can be friends then?” Caephas asked.
“Friends.”
But no one knew what the future held for both of them.

**Regina's POV**
As I walked down the aisle with my father holding my arm and my two children behind me, I knew I wanted this moment to last forever. I had everything I wanted right with me. I was going to marry the love of my life and the father of my children and I could not have asked for more.
I saw Dagen's eyes well up with tears as I drew nearer to him. I tried not to cry because it would ruin my makeup but it was hard not too.
“Cherish her,” my father said as he handed me over to Dagen.
**Dagen's POV**
She was even more beautiful than I had ever seen her. Her long hair was piled up in a beautiful bun that was neither messy nor too tight; through her veil, one could see the lustre of her beautiful blonde hair; her green eyes twinkled behind her veil and her succulent peach lips begged to be kissed.
She stood tall and graceful in her wedding gown which accentuated her slender figure. Her beautiful shoulders had been left bare and the sleeves dropped to her arms like a sigh. The dress hugged her bosom pleasantly and the deep V cut in her dress left little to imagination.
“Cherish her,” Roland said as he gave me his daughter's hand.
I took her hands and was surprised by the soft texture of her delicate hand. Even through the lace gloves she wore, I could feel it.
We walked the rest of the short way to the priest who was to join us in marriage.
The priest carried on the ceremony in his usual drab voice. When it was time to exchange vows he turned to me, prompting me to speak.
I cleared my throat and uttered the following words:
“When you first came into my life, I did not know that you would lift the curse that had plagued me for decades. If I had known, perhaps I would have treated you better but I did not. At the time, I thought that I was happy and in love but as time passed and I began to know you, I realised I had been living in darkness and you were the light to bring me out of my darkness. I loved you even before I could admit it to myself and I am going to spend every single second of my remaining time on earth proving that I love you not just in words but with my actions. Thank you for agreeing to spend the rest of your life with me.”
It was time for her to say her vows:
“It was hate at first. I came and ended up a prisoner and a stooge queen. But as time wore on, I came to love you and that love was oiled in resentment for how you treated me. We have come a long way and indeed it took me time to heal but eventually, I realised that I could not keep hating you forever because by doing that I was only hurting myself. I love you Dagen and I do not regret all the times we ever spent together. I hope that our love will endure to the end.”
***TWO YEARS LATER***
**3rd Person POV**
“You can do it! Come on now, Belle, come to Grandma,” cooed Regina as she encouraged her granddaughter to walk into her arms.
She held her hand wide open so little Annabelle could come walking into her arms.
Annabelle was a year plus and her parents, Reginald and Arabella who had just got married were away on their honeymoon. They had left their daughter in the care of his grandparents. Just yesterday, Annabelle had taken two steps on her own and now it was Regina's mission to ensure that she returned Annabelle to her parents as a walking baby.
“Let the child be, she's not ready yet,” said Dagen as he watched the two of them—Regina with open arms to welcome her granddaughter in her arms while Annabelle sat down stubbornly refusing to heed her grandmother’s calls.
“She's ready, I can feel it. She just needs a little push,” replied Regina.
“You are only going to wear out yourself,” said Dagen who did not like that his heavily pregnant wife was straining herself.
Just at that moment, Annabelle stood up and looked into her grandmother's face with a wide smile. She pointed at Regina and said, “Grandma!”
“That's right, come to Grandma!” Regina shouted excitedly.
Dagen watched as baby Annabelle put one foot in front of the other. The little girl looked up and seeing Regina's encouraging gaze, she took another step and then another until she was in Regina's arms. Regina swooped her up in her arms and carried her high into the air.
Annabelle loved this very much and she giggled excitedly as though she were being tickled.
“Grandpa! Grandpa! Higher! Higher!” crooned Annabelle.
She knew that she could ride higher in Dagen's arms.
Dagen carried Annabelle and tossed her up in the air. Regina's heart thumped with worry while Annabelle laughed very hard enjoying the thrill and assured that Dagen would catch her.
“Again!” squealed Annabelle who was never satisfied with playing rough.
“That's enough, button. It's time for your nap,” Dagen said as he kissed her forehead.
“Again! Again! Grandpa! Do it again!” she demanded.
“Just this one time, okay?” Dagen said as he threw her up in his arms once more.
