Chapter Hundred-and-Sixty
**3rd Person POV**
“Alpha Argon of the Eclipse pack, it is wonderful that you have graced me with your presence once more?” a wide smile was pasted on Princess Eris’ face. This was the old friend she had wanted to reconcile with. They had been allies a long time ago; a thousand years back to be precise; during a time when there was no major difference between the underworld and the world above. Then it had been easier to move from either world but things were a lot different now.
“It is Alpha George this time,” came the warm response.
“And Perisphone now calls herself Marilyn,” returned Princess Eris.
“Marilyn? I believe that's the name she was given when she went under. Marilyn is her mother's name, her name is Regina,” returned George.
“Regina, I see. You will succeed this time, won't you? We cannot afford to fail again,” said Princess Eris. This time there is just too much at stake. She also had to worry about her place in Hades’ palace. She wanted her son to sit on the throne but sometimes she feared that Aegan might be unstoppable once he had the throne. He could decide to extinguish her soul when he had no need for her anymore. She tried to shake off the thought and convinced herself that her son would do no such thing.
“I have no intention of failing, do you?” quipped George.
Not at all. What do you need from me?” asked Princess Eris.
“Regina had twins. I believe they are somewhere under, I want you to find them for me. I sent a lady under, I believe she should be in Hades' palace but I don't really know,” explained George.
“Regina has twins? Interesting! There were no twins before. We could use that to our advantage,” Princess Eris felt happy again, it felt like something was finally right. She was going to find those twins and make Perisphone… Regina… whatever her name was, leave the underworld for her.

It was chaos all about him. It was chaos and for the first time in his life, Dagen did not know what to do. It felt like so much had changed since the time he had come here. His portal had led him straight to King Hades' palace because that was where he had been told Regina was.
“Heyy, Uhm… why is everywhere so chaotic. What happened?” Dagen asked. The last time he had taken a trip to the underworld was just before his parents had died. His parents had been close to the Fae Queen so they had come to see her. Even then they had known that they were going to pass away soon. Normally, they would have waited for him to be a little older before taking him to a place like the Hades’ palace. He had been to the underworld a few times before then but he had never gone under.
His parents had come to see the Fae queen and that was when he had met with Prince Lucian.
“The Prince has found his mate,” he was told before the person hurried off.
Dagen tried getting the attention of several others but everyone seemed busy with something. It was not until much later that he was able to get the attention of a guard.
“The King of Hades has met his end and the Princes are contending for his throne. There's also something about Perisphone?" The guard did not seem too sure about the second part of his statement but Dagen's attention was hooked on the first part.
“The King of Hades?” It felt surreal. The King of Hades had been existing for thousands of years now, Dagen had not even known that it was possible for him to meet an end. He did not know that there was an end for the people here.
It suddenly felt all so meaningless. If the so-called mortals could meet an end what was the point of existence?
“Attention everyone! Attention! We have something to take care of. Attention everyone!” Dagen looked ahead and saw a man he recognised from his last trip here. The man's name was Sir Derek. He remembered that back then the Fae queen had described him as a chameleon. He seemed like an ally but he would work for the enemy if it favoured him.
“The issue on the agenda is to terminate Perisphone's soul,” said Sir Derek and the entire throne room fell quiet.
What he said had Dagen's attention too. What would Perisphone be doing here? Perisphone who had given her life a thousand years ago for… then it struck Dagen like he was suddenly struck by lightning. Sir Derek was talking about Regina.
“Princess Eris has good reason to believe that Perisphone is to blame for Hades' untimely end,” Sir Derek had everybody's attention.
“That is nonsense and everybody knows it. Perisphone has nothing to do with Hades’ passing,” returned Lucian. Dagen was happy to see a familiar face. He made up his mind to approach Lucian but what he said next held Dagen in place, “Princess Eris is only doing this because she is my mate.”
The words shocked Dagen. Regina was his so how could she be Lucian's? It could not be and he would not allow it.
“She should have died, you know. It was because she consumed your soul that Hades made the decision that his son's mates would be killed. She knew that so she had to end Hades,” returned Princess Eris in a firm voice.
Dagen wanted to do something. He wanted to scream for them to stop the argument. Regina belonged to him and she was Regina and not Perisphone. Why would they call her Perisphone? Perisphone died thousands of years ago.
“That is enough Princess Eris. We all watched not too long ago how Perisphone took her life to save her kind. Afterwards, we watched as Hades' extinguished her soul so that she would not return. It did not work but I believe that should be the least of our worries.”
