Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Thirty-Four
3rd Person POV
“Why send them away? I have nothing to discuss with you,” said Agatha and walked away immediately. She did not want Thaddeus to see the tears that had begun to gather in her eyes.

Regina was grateful for now. She tried her best to remain in the present. Her daughter was engaged and there was a new addition to the family.
A smile stretched her lips as baby Isabella cooed softly. Isabella was the most beautiful baby she had seen in a very long time. She was reminded of the time she had seen her twins for the very first time. She had known then that they were her whole world and she would do anything for them.
“I never got the chance to see this,” she turned her head to see Dagen by her side looking at baby Isabella's face with longing.
“It’s not too late,” replied Regina.
“You mean, we can still have another child?” quipped Dagen with excitement. Regina raised an eyebrow and said, “I never said anything about us, silly. You are still young, you can meet someone new and start a family.”
Dagen's face fell.
“I don't want someone else,” he said to her.
“We've been through this, we cannot be together,” said Regina.
“Why not? I love you,” Regina had to turn her attention back to the child. She could not deny the emotions in his eyes but she did not think she could ever be with him without ever remembering all the things he had done to her.
“Love alone is not enough,” replied Regina softly.
“Then tell me what I need to do,” came his response.
Regina wondered if she should tell him about Nydia but decided against it immediately. It was not information she could divulge to just anyone.
“I don't know,” she said without looking at him.
“Come to Mama,” crooned Emily as she swept in to take her baby in her arms. Dagen excused himself, he did not like being around the overbearing Emily.
When Dagen had left, Emily looked at her cousin and said, “You love him, don't you?”
Regina said nothing. She could never admit her feelings to anyone.
“Give love a chance, Gina. You will be surprised by how much joy you will experience,” Emily's words gave Regina deja vu then she recalled that her father had said those same words to her.
“Em, he hurt me.”
“Even roses have thorns, Gina. You have been pricked by the thorns and now it's time to enjoy the sight of the beautiful rose. Just look at him, Gina. He's a catch, if you keep resisting him, someone else will move his heart and it will be too late then.”
That night Regina took the advice of her father and her cousin and knocked on Dagen's door.
He opened the door wondering who would want to see him at this time of the night.
“If we're going to do this then we must do this right,” said Regina.
Dagen had opened the door with sleepy eyes and a foggy mind but seeing Regina in front of his room cleared the sleep in his eyes and hearing her words made him think that he was in one of those dreams where he and Regina lived happily forever.
“Am I dreaming?” he had to ask.
“I want a wedding, a proper one with my father walking me down the aisle,” Regina continued to talk. Dagen knew he had to be dreaming because Regina's father was long dead or so he thought.
“Am I dreaming?” he asked again.
“This is no dream, Dagen,” she replied.
“You're proposing to me?”
“You idiot! If you do not…” but Dagen did not allow her to complete her sentence as he shut her up with a kiss.

Dagen and Regina were not the only couple mending broken bridges that night. Elder Thaddeus knew it was time to make things right with Queen Agatha. He could not allow her hurt to continue especially as it was hurting one of his own. He needed to end their feud and it was up to him to make things right.
He met her in one of the many gardens that surrounded the palace. She was alone, staring at the stars. He approached her quietly and sat beside her.
“Leave me alone, Thaddeus,” she said.
“I'm sorry,” he said.
“You're sorry? You never thought to confront me when you thought I was unfaithful? How could you just disappear like that?” There were tears in Agatha's eyes and it broke Thaddeus' heart that he was the reason behind those tears.
“I was wrong and I know that now. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you,” Thaddeus' tone was gentle.
“You want to make it up to me now?” her tone was full of anger and resentment.
“I do,” he replied.
“Then kiss me,” she said, looking into his eyes.
Thaddeus was taken aback by the request. She was married and not just to anyone but to one of the most powerful kings in the world. How could he disrespect King Armand by touching his wife?
“We may have been lovers once but…” he started to say but she interrupted him, “then leave.”
But Thaddeus could not do that either. He was between a rock and a hard place and he was faced with indecision.
“You coward! You were looking for an excuse to break up with me then because you were scared of my father and you still haven't changed one bit,” her words stung Thaddeus because they were true. He had loved Agatha then with all his heart but there was no way her father would have allowed the match. In addition, he has received threatening messages from her father so when he thought she had cheated on him, he had not questioned it, he had just taken himself out of Agatha's life.
But he wanted to prove her wrong so he kissed her.
