Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Twenty

3rd Person POV

However, Queen Euphrates stormed off and left Regina utterly confused.

“Aurora?” Luckily, Regina saw the fairy that had made Nydia into a Queen.

“Regina! Congratulations on being Queen of…”

“Thanks, whatever, do you think… is it remotely possible that a Fae Queen remembers her past?” Regina needed clarity on that. If there was even the slightest chance that Nydia remembered her former life and how it had ended, then they had just given a monster indescribable power.

“There's no chance Regina, what are you talking about?” asked Aurora, sounding concerned.

“What if? Just what if that were to happen?” asked Regina.

“The Queen that got us banished from the sky and into Hell? She did unspeakable things with her power. She turned us into her… That can never happen again. It was the darkest time for us fairies,” Aurora looked at me with concern in her tone. She moved close to Regina and asked, “Are you worried about Queen Euphrates?”

“No, not at all but if I were?”

“Her soul would need to be crushed forever, Regina, should I be worried?” asked Aurora again.

“Tell me about Queen Euphrates. How is she to the Faes?” asked Regina.

“She's trying to get us into the sky where we originally belong. That seems to be her immediate aim,” replied Aurora.

“Is that a good thing?”

“It is, it's just that in the skies were the least of creatures. At least here, we can be… I don't know?”

“I understand but I'm sure Queen Euphrates means well,” said Regina.

“She does,”

“What is she doing to get you to the sky?”

“Lord Caephas, she wants to marry him.”

Oddly that created in Regina a sense of deja vu. Then she remembered that the previous Fae Queen had married Hades. Queen Euphrates was trying to do the same thing but with the Lord of the Sky.

Queen Irvette entered the room to do the one thing she knew she did best—bend Caephas to her will. She had created a million scenarios in her mind on how this particular conversation was going to go. What she had not expected though was for her to go completely speechless at the sight of the Lord of the Sky.

He was an unbelievably beautiful man.

Irvette cleared her throat and tried for words again. This time she found her voice.

“Greetings, Lord Caephas,” she said as she was not sure how else to address him. She bit her tongue after this pathetic attempt of a greeting, how could she have forgotten how the Lord of the Sky was addressed.

Meanwhile, Caephas had become an idiot in front of this queen from Earth. He had not expected it but his dull heart which had sworn never to fall in love with anyone at all was beating faster than it usually did. He touched his heart and his face melted in confusion.

“Can you leave and come back in five minutes?” asked Caephas. There was something he needed to check.

Irvette was confused by this request. She wondered if perhaps she had insulted the Lord of the Sky with her greeting. She knew that the Lord of the Sky was not to be addressed as His Majesty or Alpha, so how was she supposed to address him? He was not even called King.

When she left, Caephas's heart rate slowed again and it was almost normal until she re-entered the room. There was a problem and it was with this queen.

“Lord Caephas, I apologise if I have offended you. The truth is, I am not certain what your exact title is,” Irvette was soft-spoken and graceful. Caephas just looked at her with dumb eyes. He could not believe that his heart was racing for this woman.

How had that happened?

He had always concluded that those who fell in love were just plain stupid. How could one's heart beat faster for someone? Or does one become a complete idiot in the presence of one's love interest? The love poems had never made any sense rather he had always found them sickening.

“Lord Caephas?” Irvette meanwhile was wondering how this klutz had ascended to any position of significance. He only stared at her as though he had absolutely no interest in what she had to say. She understood that he was good looking but that did not give him the free will to be rude. The least he could do after granting her an audience was to pretend he cared about what she had to say.

“Who are you?” Caephas bit his tongue. That had to be the stupidest thing he had ever uttered in his entire life. Of course, he knew who she was, she was Queen… Why could he not remember her name now?

“I am Irvette, Alpha of the Blood Moon pack,” said Irvette. She was doing her best to remain calm and soft-spoken but she was boiling with anger beneath her calm expression.

“I'm Caephas… I mean, you know that already. Uhm. You had a problem with… what did you want from me?” Caephas tried desperately to call off the vacation that his brain had decided to take.

“There's a looming zombie apocalypse on earth. I hope that with your assistance…”

“Done,” said Caephas without thinking. His mind was all fuzzy and all he could see were her lips moving in slow motion. What she was saying did not really matter.

Irvette had a raised eyebrow. Done? She had not even told him her request and he had approved it?

“Lord Caephas, I do not think…”

“You want an end to the looming zombie apocalypse? I heard you, it's done. It will rain on Earth for seven days. The rain will be cleansing. All the zombies would have their transformations reversed,” said Caephas.

“Uhm, yes, yes,” Irvette blinked in surprise. She had not expected things to be so easy.
