Chapter Hundred-and-Fifty-Five

**Regina's POV**

The creature disappeared from my line of sight and I let out a breath I had not known I had been holding. I could not even trust what was before me anymore. I saw Prince Aegan approaching me so I walked the other way. I do not want to get involved with him. Unfortunately, he reached me before I could move any further.

“Seeing as he left you unattended, I believe Prince Lucian has no use for you,” he had a nasty smile on his face when he looked at my face.

“Do you not have better things to do you son of a whore?” it had come so naturally to me that I had not thought about it. I gasped, why did this feel like deja vu? Why did it feel like I had had this conversation before?

“How dare you?” Prince Aegan demanded, raising his hand to hit me but it felt like my body knew what to do because I held his hand in place. I was surprised at the strength in my own arms as I could see the dark prince struggling to set himself free.

“You really are Perisphone, aren't you? Lucian is a bastard,” Prince Aegan cursed as he struggled to free himself. I let go of his hand and he eyed me with hate as he examined the red spot that had formed where I had held his hand.

Perisphone.

The name felt right somehow.

“And you are still as impudent as you were. One would think that after all this time, you would have acquired some sense,” I could not control it. I was not in control of what I was saying or the feelings that passed through me nor was I in control of the energy that surged through my body.

_Raven? What is happening to me?_ I reached out to my wolf within me but I got no response.

Suddenly, everything turned white. I could not see anything anymore; all the people in the room were now blurred out. The only thing I could see was white and it felt like my body was charged with current then all of a sudden it was over.

“Marilyn?” quipped Lucian.

“Are you okay?” he asked. I looked around to see that I was on a bed in a room.

“What happened?” I asked him. I had been talking with Prince Aegan and now I was here.

“You passed out while talking to Prince Aegan. Did he hurt you?” asked Lucian.

“No, no. You said I was reincarnated. Am I Perisphone? Is that…”

“Do you remember now?” asked Lucian. He had a longing in his eyes.

Flashes of memories from another life passed through my eyes. By the time it was all over, I was in tears. I had lived this life before; I had lived a different life before that had brought me to this very place. In that life, I had been Lucian's lover.

“Lucian? Is it really you?” my voice broke as I spoke. Lucian smiled down at me as he stroked my hair.

“It is. You're back,” Lucian bent down to kiss my lips.

“I don't… I don't understand… why? Why did I come back?” I asked. It was all very confusing. In my previous life, there had been no Dagen and I had had no children. In this life, however, things were a bit more complicated. I already had twins and yet I was not certain I could trust Lucian enough to tell him about my twins.

“I believe history is repeating itself. The soul of the werewolf usurper resides in some werewolf Alpha, he has been making sacrifices to the underworld to amass more power,” explained Lucian.

I thought about this for a moment. It was true that this had happened when I was Perisphone. There had been an usurper who had tried to rule the world and in that life, I had committed suicide so he would not be able to use my blood for his sacrifice.

“I am going to die again? Is that it?” I asked with tear-filled eyes.

“You will not die this time; I will make sure of it,” returned Lucian, holding my hand reassuringly.

“You have other things to worry about this time, you have the throne to contend with this time. Your mother would be furious if you gave that up for me.”

“You have nothing to worry about, I will protect you this time.”

“I don't need protecting Lucian. I will be fine on my own. You must promise me that you will not allow Aegan to sit on Hades' throne,” it was a plea. If Aegan became king it would change everything in a really bad way. There would be no balance at all in the underworld and evil will prevail very much on the surface.

“Perisphone…”

“I am not Perisphone. I lived a different life this time. You cannot tell anyone, but my name is Regina,” I told him with a smile. It just felt right to tell him and somehow I knew that he had known all along that my name was not Marilyn.

“I know. Hades knew when he saw you; it was why he removed you from Princess Eris' grasp,” remarked Lucian.

“I am surprised Hades did not destroy her soul. She was unfaithful to him on many occasions,” I could remember from my past life several times where I had caught Princess Eris with another man. She was famous for going around.

“He never had concrete evidence against her and she is very good in her trade.”

“Your mother, how has she been? Has she been able to establish a place for the fairies above ground?” I asked. I remembered too from when I lived as Perisphone that she had been trying to get a place for her people above. She did not feel like her people were safe here.

“No. I believe I shall make provision for that once I become King,” returned Lucian.
