Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Forty-Two
3rd Person POV
Regina had returned to earth. She had returned exhausted and with lots of pain. It had taken her an entire week to recover and when she had recovered her strength she was sucked into helping her daughter plan for her wedding.
Because Vampires and Werewolves had two different traditions when it came to weddings, there were going to be two weddings in two separate locations so it required lots of planning.
There were dresses to be sewn and venues to be decorated; there were meals to taste and cakes too; there were jewellery and make-up to consider and Regina wanted it to be the perfect wedding for her daughter.
To help her with all the planning was Diane, her first personal maid who had married Edvin and Alison who had time on her hands now that she was not queen. Harriet was also there to help plan Charlotte’s wedding
“So Charlie is fine with you deciding everything for her?” inquired Alison as she put her fork into a sample of chocolate cake.
“She wanted to leave all the planning to her personal maid,” revealed Regina and the women all oofed in disbelief.
“It’s like she doesn’t care about the wedding at all,” bemoaned Regina. When she had returned home and had been told that Charlotte had left the vampire wedding to Agatha and her fiance to plan, she had thought that it was fair. Since there would be two weddings it was only fair that the groom could plan the wedding he wanted. But when she had discovered that her daughter was improving her sword skills and had left the werewolf wedding to her maid, she knew her daughter was beyond saving.
“Typical Charlie, she would rather fight battles than plan a wedding,” said Harriet who had never understood Charlotte's profound fondness for fights. When Charlotte was much younger, she had tried to get her neice involved in things like sewing, knitting, cooking and playing with dolls but Charlotte had genuinely hated those things. She wanted to play with a make-believe sword with her brother. The only thing they bonded on was jewellery.
“Can you believe she actually told me planning a wedding was a hassle?” quipped Regina to the amazement of the other women.
“It’s a good thing we are here for her.”

Two Weeks Later
“We have an announcement to make,” Regina said as Regianld wiped his mouth. He had just finished his meal and Charlotte was concluding hers too. Tonight was the eve of Charlotte's first wedding ceremony to Kristoff. She had spent the entire week in her father’s house watching her mother and aunts prepare for her wedding. She wasn't worried about anything, she knew they would plan the picture-perfect wedding for her.
“We’re waiting,” it had been a full minute since Regina had said anything and Charlotte did not like being left in suspense. She looked at her mother expectant of whatever news she had to spill. For a brief moment, she thought that Kristoff had told her mother that he was cancelling the wedding and this was her mother’s attempt to break the news gently.
“Mother? What’s the big news?” asked Reginald, he was starting to get nervous too.
“We are getting married,” Dagen announced. For two full minutes, no one else uttered a word. It was as though the dining had been cursed with a spell of silence.
“I heard married,” said Charlotte looking at her brother to be sure they had heard the same thing.
“I heard it too,” Reginald’s tone was spooked.
“Children, it’s true,” said Regina.
“With like a dress and everything? Who are you marrying?” The surprise had not left Charlotte’s voice.
“Your father, silly!” She could not believe that her children were acting this way.
“Mother, you hate this man,” said Reginald like it was a fact.
“Why would you say something like that? I have been living with your father for…”
“Only because you are planning my wedding which is happening here,” said Charlotte.
“Well, we love each other now. We have decided to let go of the past and focus on the future,”
“The future? Together? Like a normal family?” inquired Reginald.
“After several years of mutual hatred? When the two of you are almost grandparents?” added Charlotte.
Reginald kicked his sister under the table, that was not news he wished to share with anyone yet.
“Oh my! Are you pregnant?” Regina turned to face her daughter with a look of pure joy on her face. Charlotte teased Reginald by winking at him.
“No one is pregnant, you know with Charlie married, she will be very soon,” said Reginald in a bad attempt to cover up Charlotte’s slip-up.
“If you were a girl I would say that you are the pregnant one,” joked Regina at her tomato-faced son.
“He sure looks guilty of something,” Charlotte earned another kick under the table from her brother. She had promised to keep his secret but it was way too fun teasing him.
“Tonight is about the big announcement,” Reginald tried to steer the conversation away from him.
“And we have shared our news,” said Regina.
“Perhaps you have a big announcement you would like to share?” Charlotte's tone was innocent and devoid of any presumptions but Reginald glared hard at his sister. She was such a tease. It was her worst quality. He wondered why anyone would fall for such a person. He concluded that Kristoff had a bad taste or he was so taken by her physical beauty that he had neglected her bad character.
“I would like to propose a toast to my parents and to Charlie on her wedding,” said Reginald as he clinked his glass.
He poured everyone some wine and then raised his glass. The others followed and they clinked glasses.
Dagen, who had been quiet for most of the evening smiled. He had his family around him and he could not be happier.
