Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Ten
3rd Person POV
“You're really leaving tomorrow?” quipped Dagen. Everyone else has left the dining room except Regina. She said nothing and continued to eat her meal. She was ignoring Dagen and it was frustrating him.
“You also left this morning like nothing happened. I don't understand why…” Dagen started to say but Regina stood up and made to leave the table.
“So now you're just ignoring me?” quipped Dagen.
“Just drop it, okay? Last night was a lapse in judgement. It will never happen again,” said Regina as she proceeded to leave the dining area. Dagen held her back by holding her hand. He was now standing in front of her and he bent down to kiss her.
“Please Gina, I'm sorry for everything. Can't you just forgive me? I know that I can never make it up to you but I swear I'll spend every single moment of my life trying to make it up to you. Just give me a chance to prove that my love is sincere,” Regina struggled to blink back her tears. She had to give Dagen credit for knowing the right words to say. It still did not change the fact that he had used that same mouth to hurt her.
“I'm sorry Dagen but I'm not ready for this. I thought I was but…” the tears flowed freely now, she could not hold them back in anymore.
“We can be ready together, please,” Dagen hugged her and she did not resist the hug.

“What about our plans?” quipped Harlin when the three finally got a chance to be by themselves.
“I have to follow Mother to the Dark Moon Pack tomorrow,” said Charlotte, she wished there was a way to get out of going back.
“It does not seem like we'll get a chance to kill those zombies,” said Reginald. He did not want to leave things as they were. He had people he wanted to keep safe. He could not imagine one of those creatures biting his beloved or any of the people he cared about.
“I hear the Council of Elders are convening a meeting with all the packs and kingdoms next month to decide what to do with the zombie community that is forming,” said Harlin, he had heard it from Aunt Alison.
“If they do become a community and they evolve to have intelligence like the rest of us, we will be forced to acknowledge them as a kind of their own,” said Charlotte.
“It will become problematic, they would want to dominate the world,” remarked Reginald.
“We cannot allow that to happen,” said Charlotte.
“Perhaps we should ask for help? Prince Kristoff may be willing to fight with us. Right now, I'll be more of a liability if I were to join you two. My left hand still suffers from slight terrors,” Harlin was understating the problem and the twins were well aware. They knew that along with the terrors, he experienced sharp pains in both arms.
“It's alright Harlin, we'll figure it out,” said Charlotte.
“We will all attend the meeting next month. If you are alright then, we'll discuss this again,” said Reginald.
“And if I'm not? We'll only be wasting time while they become stronger,” said Harlin. Reginald and Charlotte shared a look, they had not considered that.
“I think Mother is doing something about keeping their powers at bay,” said Reginald.
“There is only so much she can do though,” said Harlin. He knew the twins were reluctant to do anything without him but he would have to sit this one out.
“The Queen of Faes has promised to do something about the zombie situation too. It will be disastrous even if one fairy should turn into a zombie,” said Charlotte.
“It would be really bad if they manage to successfully control even one fairy,” shuddered Harlin. He had read about the last zombie invasion millions of years ago. He could not imagine that history repeating itself again.
“Let's do everything in our power to stop it from getting to that extent, okay?” said Charlotte. The two of them nodded their agreement.

“I thought you wanted to spend the rest of your life in the Blood Moon Pack, huh? If I didn't know better I would have thought you would marry Harlin and become his Luna,” scolded Emily the second she saw Charlotte.
“Aunty!”
“What? Did you expect me to give you a hug because you decided to return home?” quipped Emily. She was happy to see her niece but she was not going to show it.
“You forced me…”
“I forced you? Imagine this child…”
“I'm an adult, an adult!”
“Then start behaving like one!”
“I know you two missed each other so just hug and make up already,” remarked Regina.
“As if!” said Emily, folding her arms.
Charlotte rolled her eyes but she still went ahead to hug her aunt. It took Emily a while before she returned the hug.
“You will begin court tomorrow,” said Emily.
“Can't I just rest up for a few days? Huh?” pleaded Charlotte.
“No dear, your vacation is over. You must start work tomorrow,” insisted Emily.
“How come mother doesn't attend court and…”
“She will also attend court tomorrow,” said Emily.
“Cousin! Do I really…”
“Yes, you really do. Come to think of it, maybe you should try being queen, it would…”
“Emily, we have discussed this and we both agreed I'm more suited for a life of adventure, you know? In fact, I have to be at the Vale of Dragons next week to discuss…”
“Enough! I hear you,” sighed Emily with frustration.
“Aunt Em I also have…”
“Nothing but court tomorrow.”
“I should advance my training, don't you think? I should…”
“You're already the best fighter I know. The only skills you need to sharpen are those in court,” said Emily. She was not going to allow Charlotte to convince her to do otherwise.
Charlotte sighed in frustration. This was so not her day.
