Chapter Three-Hundred-and-Nineteen
3rd Person POV
“Irvette, I can speak casually, can't I?” asked Dagen.
“Definitely,” said Irvette.
“Lord Caephas does not listen to us if you think you can somehow convince him to…”
“So you have no intention of saving our planet from an inevitable doom? I will tell you what you do not know. It is impossible to get rid of all the zombies. We are going to have an apocalypse on our hands very soon and your army that you trust in so much? They will all turn to zombies,” said Irvette in a harsh whisper.
“Is that a threat?”
“Get me that meeting with Caephas. Do whatever you have to do to make it happen tomorrow,” said Irvette with a note of finality in her voice.
“You cannot tell me what to do, I will not…”
“I will let you in on a little secret. You see the trio there? They are planning a suicide mission and only I can stop them,” she said to Dagen. Dagen’s face was clouded with confusion until it dawned on him what she was talking about.
“They wouldn’t!”
“Oh, they will! Unless we stop this madness,” said Irvette.

Dagen did not feel like he had an option so he initiated a meeting with Caephas. The only place Caephas could come to was Mount Shasta. The meeting could not happen the very next day but in three days time, Irvette found herself in front of the Fae Queen. It was only the Fae Queen that could grant her access to the Lord of the Skies. In order for Irvette to get an audience with the Fae Queen at all, she had to go through Regina.
“I can see that healing your mind did me no good,” hissed Queen Euphrates. She had thought that she liked nothing about Regina but Irvette made her feel on edge. She was not sure why but she had a very bad feeling about the woman that now sat across from her.
“I am grateful for what you have done. In fact, I come bearing gifts to express my gratitude,” said Queen Irvette with a smile. Irvette was the Queen of politics. She could tell that the woman across from her did not like her at all but it did not matter. She needed her and she was going to get what she wanted from her.
Irvette opened the box in front of her. It was a very rare stone. One that could only be found in the Blood Moon pack.
“This is a gem dug from the very heart of the Mount of Blood. You will find it nowhere else. It has been in my family for generations and now I want you to have it,” said Irvette.
“What makes you think I can be won over by a mere stone?” scoffed Queen Euphrates.
“Because this is no mere stone. Legend has it that the only woman of the earth to ever marry a sky Lord, wore this the first day she met him. They fell in love; the stone is said to possess a rare ability to make love connections possible where they should not.”
“Why would I want that? I am the Fae Queen, I can have anyone I want to.”
“But not Lord Caephas,” replied Irvette.
Queen Euphrates eyed the gem. At this point, she was willing to try just about anything to have the Lord of the Sky look her way. She needed strong ties to the sky so that the Faes could go back to where they originally belonged. She wanted to be the Queen who would do the impossible.
“Then I believe I can arrange for you to see the Lord of the Sky,” muttered Queen Euphrates.
Irvette closed the box and with a smile, she said, “Once our meeting is over, this will be yours to keep.”
“Are you trying to pull a scam?”
“Not at all, this is Mount Shasta. I cannot leave without your blessing,” said Irvette with a polite smile.
“You are right about that,” said Queen Euphrates.
“Then I will be counting on you,” said Irvette with a smile.

“You know that besides you, I do not like anyone on earth. It's full of lies and schemes like the one you just pulled on me,” said Lord Caephas. He had absolutely no interest in meeting with this werewolf who called herself Queen Irvette. The last time he had heard the name, she had been a lunatic.
“I understand, Caephas but we do have a pandemic on our hands. Just hear her out, huh?” quipped Dagen.
“If things get too bad here, you can always come to the sky,” said Lord Caephas.
“Caephas, there can be no sky without earth, you know that,” said Dagen.
“Whatever, if I sense her proposition is some sort of gimmick, I'm not helping even though you beg me yourself,” said Caephas.
“And if I am the one doing the begging?” quipped Regina in a soft tone that made Dagen slightly jealous.
“Regina, you don't even belong here. When you're done playing urban legend, you will come home,” said Caephas to Regina.
“What does that even mean?” asked a perplexed Dagen.
“Mind your business, friend,” said Caephas.
Queen Euphrates walked in at that moment and she did not like how Regina was leaning into Lord Caephas.
“She will come in now, Lord Caephas, will you grant her an audience?” asked Queen Euphrates.
“It does not seem like I have any option,” said Lord Caephas.
“In that case, she will join you soon,” she said and signalled for the others to leave the room.
When they were all out of the room, Queen Euphrates cornered Regina and said harshly, “Do not think I will let you come between us like you came between I and Dagen.”
She had said it with so much veracity that for a split second, Regina saw Nydia and not the Fae Queen.
“What are you talking about?” asked Regina. Queen Euphrates was not supposed to remember anything at all about her past. How had she known about her and Dagen?
