Chapter Two-Hundred-And-Seventy-One

**3rd Person POV**

The three of them looked at each other.

“Who else knows about you?” asked King Armand.

“Princess Charlotte, she hid me in her room but he found me and I had to run,” came her response.

“We have to do something about this,” commented King Armand.

“Charlotte may not be safe,” said Elder Thaddeus.

“He will not be so silly as to hurt her here,” replied King Armand.

“What do we do with the girl?” asked Queen Agatha.

“It's simple, she will return with Elder Thaddeus on his journey tomorrow,” replied King Armand.

A stunned silence followed this response.

It was Elder Thaddeus who broke the silence, “what?”

“She has valuable information. Considering the Prince's past with werewolves, it is safe to say that her information would be valuable to you,” explained King Armand.

“I see,” responded Elder Thaddeus, eyeing the wounded girl.

“Let's leave the room, Agatha. I will have your meal brought up,” said King Armand.

Lowell woke up to see his bed surrounded by guards. It was as though they had been waiting for him to wake up. His heart began to palpitate; had they found out about his connection to Major Drieden?

He tried not to think of the worse but it was the worse that happened next.

“Lord Lowell, it has been determined from veritable sources that you have worked in tandem with Major Drieden to bring affliction upon our people,” the voice who said this belonged to Prince Harlin. He knew that Prince Harlin had never liked his company and if it were not for the insistence of Alison, he would never hang out with him.

It was strange though, Prince Harlin looked very agile and healthy. He did not look as though he were just recovering from a serious illness. Then it occurred to him; this was a dream.

He woke up soaked in his own sweat. He looked about him but there were no guards surrounding him. Gabriella’s testimony that she had seen him had not been enough to put him in a cell. He knew that he was watched closely but there was not enough evidence to put him away. He knew however that should he make any mistake, he would be put away forever.

He was no longer comfortable here. He had to leave at once and he knew he had to do so when the Elders were leaving the palace. He would ask to follow them home. He could not beat to stay another day in this place.

Just as Regina and Emily were arriving at the palace of King Armand, the Elders were leaving. Their job had been to determine that no werewolf that had come to Dome was responsible for the death of Major Drieden. They had achieved their goal and so now they were leaving.

Elder Thaddeus had explained to the rest of the Elders that he would be travelling home with Rosaline. They could not tell anyone about her presence in the carriage until they had safely crossed into werewolf land. They decided that it was best to take her to the Shadowclaw pack. Thaddeus knew that Dagen was sensible and he would not discard Rosaline if he knew she was valuable to them.

Regina and Emily said their goodbyes to the Elders but there was one person who refused to say goodbye.

“I must travel with you, Elders,” Lowell said. Charlotte's eyes narrowed on this statement of his. She had found out through Rosaline that Lowell had been instrumental to all the evil things Drieden had done in the werewolf lands. She had wanted to wait for the right time before disclosing the information but his insistence to leave now was baffling to her. What was he running away from?

“Lord Lowell, you came down here with Prince Harlin. It is only courteous that you return with your Prince,” returned Elder Walker.

“Please, I do not feel very well. I need to go home,” said Lowell. He was convincing because of his injuries but Charlotte was not buying any of this. She signalled to Elder Davis that she wanted to have a word with him.

When they were alone, Charlotte said, “Lowell is the werewolf that gave Drieden access to Harlin's pack. He has been bringing hazardous substances into werewolf territory,” she said to him.

“Rosaline told you this?” quipped Elder Davis.

“Rosaline is with you? Oh, thank heavens! I was worried when I didn't see her in my room,” returned Charlotte.

“We'll watch him closely on our way back. Once we get to the Shadowclaw pack, we will arrest him,” came Elder Davis’ response.

When all was said and done, the Elders left and with them was Lord Lowell and Lady Lowell and Rosaline.

“Mother!” exclaimed Reginald with joy when he saw his mother walk into the clinic room. Because either Charlotte or Reginald had to be by Harlin's side, Reginald had not left the room to greet his mother.

“Mother!” Harlin exclaimed when he saw Queen Emily. He had grown up calling her mother because she was his godmother and she had done her best in filling the vacuum left by his own biological mother. In a way, he had been blessed with family even though he had lost his father and mother.

Hugs and tears were exchanged and when the mood was more somber, Harlin told them all about how he had got shot.

Regina and Emily exchanged a look when Harlin mentioned Nydia.

“Are you certain it was her?” asked Emily.

“I am. It was the same lady that followed Major Drieden about,” said Harlin. Besides, Nydia's picture was splattered everywhere back home with a command to stone her if she were ever sighted.

“Do not worry about her. We will ensure she never poses a threat to you again,” said Regina. Her heart went out to the young man who was unaware of the details of his ugly past.
