Chapter 100
Soma’s POV
Watching the doors I was nervous about what was about to happen to Darcy, I didn’t want to see her die because she wanted to give me a chance to run away. When the doors opened, and a guard was speaking to someone I was getting nervous. I thought I knew the voice but I wasn't sure.
When he walked into the room I knew it was the Vampire King. What was he doing here? Was he going to be the one that kills Darcy and me? I was afraid, but I knew I had to be strong otherwise these Lycans and vampires would hurt me, I didn’t want to show them I was just this human they thought they could bully.
“Ah finally!” Roman said moving away from us, Darcy and Max. I didn’t want them getting hurt because they didn’t like King Gideon.
“Sorry, but your King took his sweet time coming to us.” The Vampire King complained. “But at least we are here to finish our business deal.”
“And where is the King?” Roman asked moving a little away from the Vampire King. It was almost funny because even though I didn’t know Roman I could see he was afraid of the vampire King. Maybe I could use this to my advantage.
“Here,” he said tossing a bloodied bag at Roman. “He wasn't much of a fight for Oliver.” he grinned. “But it was a quick and pointless fight like I knew it would be,” he said looking at me. “Where is Nathaniel, I want to see him.”
“Go and get Nathaniel,” Roman said without taking his eyes off the bag on the floor. “So where is Oliver if he is the reason King Gideon is dead?”
“Here.” Detective Marks came in the room dragging someone, when I saw him I almost ran to him but Roman growled and made me freeze.
“Ah there is the pointless mate,” he said glancing at me. “Don't worry Princess you will get to touch him before I kill him.”
“You are not going to kill him!” I growled standing up, I could feel something building inside me. I wasn't sure what it was but it was powerful. Could it be my wolf, or just because I’ve been longing to see Oliver all this time and now that he was here it was time for me to be by his side?
“We are going to let Seff kill him.” Roman smiled at me. “But don’t worry you don’t have to worry about it is you, your wolf is her person so she will be guilty of killing him. So sit down and wait until you are told what to do.”
“My wolf wouldn't kill our mate!” I growled stomping around. “And even if you think you can get her to kill him, I will stop her!”
Laughter echoed around me, I wasn't sure why they thought I wouldn't be able to control my wolf. If I was a wolf then I thought I would have some kind of power over her. I’ve only seen her once I think, and she was asking me to call out to her. Maybe if I called out to her she would come and save Oliver before they killed him. I didn’t want to see Oliver die because of me. He was here to save me, and they did something to him.
“Please let me go to him!” I begged.
“Not yet,” Roman growled. “Why don’t you sit down and wait until we allow it, we have other things to finish off since you had two Lycan’s trying to help you escape and we caught on before the plan was able to take place.”
“What else do you need to do?” the Vampire King asked. “Where is Nathaniel?”
“He’s coming, he has to be here to see the result to these two,” Roman said walking back to where I was sitting. I knew he wanted to be close to me because he didn’t trust the vampires. The only vampire I didn’t trust was Detective Marks because of what he did to me. But I didn’t care about the others that were here, they would only do what the Vampire King said. I just hoped the vampire King didn’t want to hurt me, he was looking at me like he was planning on doing something.
“Finally!” Roman growled.
I looked at my father, he was a little pissed at something, I wish I could hear his thoughts or his voice or something. I wanted to know what he was thinking. I needed to understand what was going to happen here, I didn’t want to see someone killed because of me but I knew it would be something out of my control. I was scared.
“So Nathaniel since you are now the King,” Roman said looking at me for a second before returning to Nathaniel. “We are putting these two to death because they tried to kidnap your daughter.”
“They didn’t!” I growled standing up. “You are lying!”
“Am I?” Roman growled back as he pulled the dagger he found in my room. “You see I had a camera placed in your room and Darcy was the one that gave it to you. I also know she told you, you have to stab me and it would give you enough time to get away.”
“But I only wanted to give her a few minutes to get away from me!” Darcy whined.
“Silence!” he growled at her. “You see when you did what you did, you went against what King Gideon wanted, and therefore your punishment is death,” he said before throwing the dagger at her and hitting her in the heart, and she went down. Max ran over to her and cradled her head, I couldn’t hear what they were talking about but I could tell Max was going to die too.
“Is that right?” Roman growled at Nathaniel. “Too bad you couldn’t speak your mind here.” he laughed. “But Nathaniel said my punishment wasn't just and that I should take back my words before she takes her last breath. But I condemn her for trying to take the Princess away from me,” he said looking at me. “Yes I am going to make you mine in front of your mate and if you decline I will beat you until you submit.”
“So then beat me, because I will never be yours!” I said standing up. I knew what I was saying was against everything but I wasn't going to be forced to do anything. “You see your pathetic King did the same thing, threats, and no action.” when I said that I saw something shift in Roman’s eyes. It was like he wanted me to say that so he could do what he wanted.
“But first I am going to give your father one last chance to help me summon Seff, and if he does then I will allow you to be yourself, but if he refuses he will die too, and I still will get what I want,” he said looking at Nathaniel. “How do I break the curse?” he said waiting for him to respond. “Oh you aren't going to tell me are you?” he smirked.
“Well I guess the torture could start,” he said grabbing me by my hair and tossing me to the ground. “Chain her down, we’re going to have some fun,” he growled at the two Lycans approaching me.
I tried to get to my feet but they were faster and stronger, I struggled as much as I could but I knew it wouldn't do any good against these two giant men. One held me while the other was chained by my wrists to the floor.
I glanced at Oliver, he was starting to come around and the look in his eyes scared me a little. I wasn't sure if it was his Lycan coming out or if he was just lost because of whatever they had given him, but I was scared.
“So Nathaniel I have a little surprise for you, the Vampire King found your mate for you too.” Roman laughed. “But she isn't in good shape it seems,” he said looking at the Vampire King. It looked like he didn’t know what Roman was going on about. “You see she has been a prisoner for a long time and well she is slowly dying. Honestly, when he told me he had her, I had her brought to the castle and kept in the dungeon until I knew this day would happen,” he said looking down at me. “So you’ll get to see your mother before she takes her last breath.”
“I don’t even know what you are going on about.” The vampire King answered. “As far as I could tell she hasn't been found, so what you’re saying isn't anything to do with me.” he snapped, I could tell he didn’t like where this was going. Maybe he would turn on Roman and help me out of these chains and get Oliver out of the state he was in. I hoped anyway, but that was short-lived.
“Don't worry everything will make sense when she is brought here. I have guards getting her now, and when Nathaniel sees her he will see that I am not lying. But while we wait I still have one more problem.” he said looking at Max, Max laid his mate’s head down on the ground.
“Do what you’re going to do,” Max said standing his ground. “I am not afraid to die.”
“Of course your not, I am going to allow you to leave here so you can take your own life or let your heart take it,” he smirked. “Take him to the furthest part of our lands and throw him off the cliff and see if he lives or dies.”
