Chapter 122

Soma’s POV

Opening my eyes to Oliver coming back into the room, I yawned and stretched and smiled when he sat down.

“Where did you go?” I asked.

“I had to talk to Micah about our plans for today.” He smiled. “You should go back to sleep; you’ve only been sleeping for a few hours.”

“I know, but I want to get this over and done with and then we could come back here and I could relax a little by the lake.”

“Sun bathing is always nice, just don’t do it naked.” He warned playfully.

“I don’t do that!” I snapped at him; I knew he would love to watch me lay out naked but I was still shy about my body.

Going to the tea store was going to be depressing, my whole dream was out the window and there wasn’t anything I could do about it. I didn’t want to shut down, but I knew it was for the best. I didn’t want Oliver stressing about me being over here alone, and honestly, I didn’t know if I could handle all the stress that came with running the store again. I knew Nick would want to come and help if that is what I wanted, but since he found his mate, I didn’t think it was right for me to ask him to leave her behind and come and help me.

“I just need to get in the shower and clean myself up since he decided you wanted to play around all night.” I laughed. “Give me about twenty minutes.”

“That works for me, it will give me time to make you some breakfast in bed.” He said before leaving the room.

My stomach was growling so either he heard it, or just knew I would need food after last night. I jumped in the shower and then grabbed some of my clothes to get ready. Oliver brought in the food just as I finished brushing my hair.

“That smells great.” I smiled sitting down on the bed and grabbing some bacon and toast.

“Well, you better eat up because you are going to get lots of work done today, yes?” he mused.

“Probably not.” I said shaking my head. I was still torn on my decision to close the store, but it needed to be done.

After we were finished with breakfast, Oliver disappeared to clean the dishes, I finished getting ready and met him downstairs. He looked like he was thinking hard, most likely about my store. I didn’t want him to feel bad about my decision, it would be the best one for us, and for me.

We got into the car and headed that way, Oliver was quiet, I didn’t want to ask him about his thoughts because I already knew.  He was right they would always be across the street and if something happened one of them would be able to come over and help if I needed it. But I didn’t want him to always have to watch my store because of the fear Marcus might come around.

He told me that Marcus was back in London that he didn’t want to do anything to me, but I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want to give in to someone that hurt me already and could hurt me again. There was no way I would trust a vampire’s word over my own gut feeling.

“What are you thinking about?” Oliver asked finally breaking me out of my head.

“I am just trying to figure out what you are thinking about, I don’t want you worrying about me thinking that this decision wasn’t mine and that I would be unhappy about it.” I said looking out the window. “I think closing my store would be best, and if I wanted to be around coffee or tea, you could invite me to the coffee shop.”

“Wait so you want to work at the coffee shop?” he questioned.

“No.” I said shaking my head. “But if I did want to mess around for the day, I know I could do it at the coffee shop.”

“Well, you could but are you going to be happy having to deal with all my employees plus Micah?” he laughed. “Micah is sometimes a pain in the butt and wants to do things his way, I just don’t want him getting in your face because he wants to be your boss for the day.”

“Well, I will remind him that I am higher than him and if he doesn’t cool it, I will spank him.” I giggled. “I am not worried about Micah telling me what to do, I might even let him do it to feel special.”

“Just don’t let it go to his head, it’s hard to flatten an already big head.” Oliver joked.

“Don’t worry I think could handle him, and if he did get out of hand, I could tell him to go and clean up the gum under the table or something right?” I joked.

“I really hope you are joking! People actually put gum under the table?” he asked kind of looking a little green there.

“Well yeah, have you ever checked under your tables? People don’t put their gum in the trash and it’s kind of gross. But I’ve had to clean up gum and let me tell you I almost quit that job because of how much there was.”

“Oh God now I am going to have to check under our tables!” he complained before he stuck his tongue out in disgust.

I laughed at him; he doesn’t even realize how gross people can be. But this whole conversation made me laugh and less stressed.

We arrived at the coffee shop, we decided to get some coffee. Not because I wanted it but because Oliver wanted to check the tables for gum. I shook my head because he looked like this big dorky guy looking under the tables.

“Micah!” Oliver growled.

“What, what’s wrong?” Micah asked coming into the lobby.

“Get someone to clean the gum up underneath the tables. That is completely unacceptable!” he growled stomping from one table to the next.

“What, what are you talking about?” he laughed.

“Look under the tables and tell me that is okay!” he growled pointing under the tables.

“Ew!” Micah whined. “Who would put gum underneath our tables?” he said gagging a little.

“Humans!” Oliver barked getting a couple of the customers attention. “Get them cleaned up, this better not happen again!”

“Come on Oliver.” I said pulling him away from Micah. “He will handle this, it’s not something you can stop.” I said shaking my head. “Here have a cookie.”

“I cannot believe the gum under there!” he was still complaining. “And there is a lot, I am grossed out.” He said shaking his head, but he finally sat down. I just laughed at him; I don’t even know if he would have ever known there was gum under the table if I didn’t say anything.

“And here I thought it was just the sweet flavor of some of these humans, but it was their gum. Now this makes me want to close my store.” He said sticking his tongue out at me.

I didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to close his store, he just needed to make his employee’s check the tables for gum each night before they closed.

“I got an idea.” I said biting into my cookie. “How about I come here an hour or so before the coffee shop and clean the gum off the table since you are grossed out by it.”

“No!” he growled. “I will not have my Luna cleaning up gum underneath the tables. One of the boys will do it, that is why we pay them as well as we do.” He said shaking his head. “Besides I don’t want you smelling like their gum.”

I rolled my eyes; I knew he was overreacting but I let him have his way. I drank my coffee and ate my cookies. Oliver watched as Micah struggled to clean the gum off the tables, I could tell he was getting mad and I didn’t want him destroying the shop.

“Micah there is an easier way to do that.” I said getting up and walking over to him.

“Oh yeah?” he asked. “Please tell me because I am going to be here until next week and I don’t want to do this already!”

“Get some gloves and pull it off by hand.” I giggled. “It’s still gross but at least you will be done a lot sooner.”

“You do it.” He whined.

“She will not!” Oliver growled. “If you think the Luna is going to do what I told you to do, you have another thing coming Micah!” he said stomping over to us. “Do what she told you to do, and if it takes forever then I guess it does.” He said pulling me away from Micah. “Don’t you touch that crap.”

“I wasn’t going to; I was just trying to show him how to do it. It’s gross no matter how you do it, but quicker if you do it by hand.”

“That is just gross.” He complained. The big bad Alpha is whining because the gum is gross, it was funny I started to laugh. “Laugh all you want, when we go across the street you are going to hate me because I work really slow.” He taunted. “So, we’re going to be there all day and all night.”

“No, you might be there all night, I will leave when Micah closes this shop.” I said sticking my tongue at him.
