Chapter 89
King Gideon’s POV
Walking back to my office I knew leaving her in the care of Roman was the best idea as he is loyal to me and what I want. I just hoped she didn’t escape with him being in charge. I told him all about my plans to mark her when I get back and he seemed to think that was a good idea. I grabbed the things I needed to take with me to the Council, I needed them to ensure the werewolves were going to try and get her back. I was afraid they would change their mind if they spoke with her, that is why I was leaving her behind.
“Before I leave I want to see you.” I mind-link Nathaniel, he was the one I was worried about. I didn’t want him to try and do anything, I knew he would but I hoped he wouldn't. I would hate to come back and he was dead because he didn’t listen to my warning.
“You wanted to see me?” he growled annoyed.
“Yeah, I want to make sure you understand that you are not allowed to go to your daughter anytime while I am gone, if you try and help her escape I’ve already given Roman permission to do what he wants to you.”
“And I should be scared of Roman. Ha!” he taunted.
“Well yeah because he doesn’t live by the code so he could kill you without worry or care,” I said turning to face him. “Why do you have to be so annoying?”
“Why did you have to take my crown and force the people to bow down to you?” he snarled. “I will be their King again, you just don’t realize it yet. You think Soma is going to keep you around if you force her to become Queen you have another thing coming.”
I wanted to continue this but I knew he was just trying to get me annoyed to see what I would do. I didn’t force anyone to do anything, I just told them to simply accept me or die and most of them did. Yes, I had to kill a lot of people that supported Nathaniel but after they were dead everyone else seemed to quiet down and continue to live poor.
“Get out, I have to finish getting ready, remember my warning,” I spoke rather than mind-linked.
I knew Nathaniel would do something stupid, I half expected him to be dead when I came back, it would be a good thing because then I wouldn't have to worry about him trying to regain the crown or trying to convince his daughter to throw me out before we got married. I had a big wedding to plan so that was another thing I wanted to think about, but it had to wait. I knew the Council wanted to see me one more time to discuss how Soma has been adjusting. I would lie and say she was already marked and mated and we have a baby coming, I knew I had to be careful with how I presented my case because they are good at seeing through lies that are why they are the Councilmen of the realms.
Nathaniel finally left me sitting there, I finished grabbing the clothes I needed. I didn’t want to be gone too long, but I knew I had to stay at least one night since I had to fly out and it was a twelve-hour flight.
“She’s sleeping,” Roman said coming into my office. “I don’t think she is going to give me many issues while you’re gone.” he smiled.
“You better make sure she doesn’t get hurt while I am gone, I don’t want anything bad happening either. Don’t play games with her either, because I know you want to chase her. You’ve always been bad about doing things against what I want.” I said looking at him.
“Don't worry she will stay in the room, but I am going to show her around the castle so that she can get a better idea of her Kingdom, otherwise when you get back she is going to fight you more. Maybe I could help convince her you’re not a bad wolf.”
“I’m not!” I snapped. “But yes if you want to try and get her to relax so when I get back she will be willing to be marked that way everything will work out and I won't have to worry about her doing something stupid like trying to kill herself.”’
“Don't worry I don’t think she is capable of doing that, she doesn’t seem that sad about her situation. She is just confused as to what is going on, if Nathaniel never took her away from this place I am sure she would have been marked and mated already,” he said leaning against the wall. “But I will do what I can to make sure she is ready for you when you return.”
“Good now keep me posted on how things are here, that way I don’t have to worry the entire time I am gone,” I said before grabbing my bag. “Why don’t you take me to the airport since she is locked down and sleeping.”
“Okay,” he said following me out to the car. “You need to call me as soon as your land and when you are leaving so I can ensure everyone is ready for your arrival. Also, I will make sure I send one of the Omega’s to get you from the airport so I can stay with your mate,” he said getting into the driver's seat I sat in the back.
We didn’t speak the short ride to the airport which was fine. I just wanted to get this over with and be back in London. I hated the United States, the people were weird. Yeah, they came from Europe but a lot of them had changed the way they acted and they didn’t act as we did anymore.
“Have a safe flight King Gideon,” Roman said as he pulled away from the curb.
I knew this was going to be a safe flight, I was King so they better ensure I got to where I needed to go otherwise they would suffer God’s wrath. I was excited to fly though, something about the thrill of being in the air everyone else was exciting to me. I wish I knew how to fly because it would be so much easier for me to get to where I needed to go and not have to wait for everyone else to get into the airplane.
Walking into the airport everyone stopped and noticed me, they didn’t bow their heads which was fine I didn’t care. I walked over to the counter.
“Hello King Gideon are you flying with us today?” the man asked.
“Of course I am, why else would I come to this dwelling.” I snapped as I tossed my ticket to him. “I expect my flight isn't delayed?”
“Well,” he said typing my ticked into the computer. “Your flight is delayed a few hours, but I can get in touch with someone to give you a place to rest and get some food while you wait,” he said with a sad face. “I apologize this has happened, but there is the weather in the ocean and it isn't safe to fly right now.”
“This figures, I want a free flight then.” I snapped. “And don’t give me the crap that you cannot do it, I am the King and said you are to do it.”
“Yeah but that isn't how it works here, you have to pay just like everyone else. The only way you can get a free flight is if you had your plane and things were a little different.” he mused.
Did he think he could talk to me like he was, did he think I didn’t get a free flight because that isn't how they do it?
“Then you are fired if you do not get me a manager now!” I snapped.
“Fine,” he said getting on the phone and mumbling something about me being harsh to him and that they needed to come down as soon as possible as he feared for his life. “My manager is on the way, if you could step aside for a moment so I could get the rest of the passengers checked in,” he said pointing to a vacant side of the airport.
I didn’t want to, but it was pointless getting angrier at him, but now his manager would feel my wrath and if he didn’t give me the flight I would kill him in his spot. I wasn't afraid of anyone arresting me, hell if someone wanted to come at me, fine. But now I wanted to make a scene since this little man wanted to tell me he cannot do what I asked.
“King Gideon?” a woman said, I knew the voice. Dana, perfect. “Hello, beautiful,” I said kissing her on her cheek.
“If Derek would have told me you were the one giving him complaints I would have told him to give you what you wanted.” she giggled. “So what can I do for you?”
“I want a free flight since my plane has been delayed because of weather.”
“Done,” she said walking with me. “Why don’t you come and have a drink with me, we can catch up, maybe I can even give you some pleasure.” she winked at me.
I didn’t want sex from her, but I couldn’t pass it up. She was good at giving head, and honestly, that is all I wanted from her, if I ended up having sex with her I wouldn't mind, I’d pretend she was Soma.
