Chapter 115

Oliver’s POV

Finally got word we were about to land. I knew I needed to make sure Micah knew we were back in New York. I hoped he was already at the airport that way we can just leave here and not have to wait. I was thankful for everything that Nathaniel sent with us when we left. I had a little headache from the flight, but it could be because of all the stress from these last couple of days. I was glad that Soma was alive and okay, but I still wanted to wake her up. I thought about having our doctor look her over to see if they had any idea on how to wake her up, but like Nathaniel said she was healing and I should just wait until she woke up on her own.

“Finally,” Micah said coming into view. “I thought I was going to have to send help to bring you home.” He said hugging me. “I am glad you made it home.”

“Me too,” I said pulling away from him. “We weren’t gone that long, I hope you haven’t worked the pack to death.”

“Close but not to death.” He grinned. “So where is our Luna?”

“On the plane still, how many warriors did you bring with you?” I said glancing at the three SUVs waiting for us.

“Enough.” He mused. “Don’t worry some of the Alpha’s that didn’t come with you came back to the pack and brought some of their warriors when they heard that you were ambushed and one of our friends was killed during this.” He said looking back at the SUVs, “They all feel stupid for not supporting you, and they will be making things up to you.”

“I don’t want anything from anyone, I just want to get my mate home and secured in our borders,” I said looking back at the plane. “Why don’t you have some men grab the bags from the plane, I will grab Soma and we could get going.”

“Yep,” Micah said walking away from me, he grabbed the men and headed into the plane behind me. I was glad he didn’t whine about anything and kept things quiet so I could grab my mate and wait in the car.

Nick was already waiting in the car, he looked a lot more stressed than I thought he would be. I don’t know why he was worried about going to the packhouse, he’d been there with us before. Maybe it was because of his mate or finding her, I wanted to help him find her but I didn’t know a lot of my pack members' families like that. They all lived their own lives and had jobs so I left people alone unless they wanted or needed help.

After everyone was loaded back into the SUVs, we began our journey back to the pack lands, the plane would leave tomorrow and head back to London. I would call Nathaniel when we got back to the pack lands and let him know we made it safely, even though I had a feeling he already knew we were safe here.

“How was the plane ride?” Micah asked breaking me out of my thoughts.

“Not bad, I thought it was going to be a lot longer, but I am glad to be home. I cannot wait to sleep in my bed.” I said looking back at Soma. “I cannot wait to see her face when she realizes we’re back in New York.”

“So what the hell happened?”

“Well we were ambushed by the vampires, they killed my friend and the others that were with us, and I killed King Gideon when the vampire King allowed it. I didn’t think I would kill him as fast as I did, but I was glad when it was over. I still don’t feel any better about him being dead.”

“And how did you end up in London?” he said looking away from me.

“They used night’s bane on me, they knew more about us than I thought they would. They didn’t hurt me, but they tortured Soma right in front of me. I couldn’t get out of the daze I was in to stop things from happening to her, and then it went crazy.”

“What do you mean?”

“Soma’s wolf came out and killed the vampire King after he tried to make her into a hybrid.”

“Wait she has a wolf? I thought she didn’t?” he asked confused.

“Yeah, she has a wolf. A beautiful white wolf with red eyes. I am not sure if the red eyes were because of the rage the girl was feeling, but holy shit I would have died if her father didn’t stop her. She came at me, the wolf was full-on raging and I couldn’t get her to back down.” I said with a sigh.

“Is that something you are going to forgive her for? I mean it would be hard for me to get past my mate trying to kill me.”

“She wasn’t herself, I could tell it was the vampire venom controlling her, she was fine after Nathaniel got her down. Once she was relaxed enough I lost Soma into this sleep she is in. her parents tell me that her wolf is trying to heal her and reverse anything that the venom did to her, but she hasn’t changed much.”

“We should have our doctor look at her when we get home.” He suggested.

“I thought about that, but I don’t think it’s going to do any good. We just have to wait it out, I know Soma is a fighter otherwise, she would have been marked and mated by King Gideon, but she fought him until he was taken and we were brought into the castle.”

Micah didn’t say anything else, I was glad I didn’t want to keep talking about what happened. I was still dazed and confused about everything that happened, I hoped Soma could connect with Seff and find her way back to me. I was getting depressed because there was nothing I could do to help her and I was failing as a mate for her. I knew staying with her was the only thing I could do.

It seemed like it took hours to get back to the pack lands, but when I saw the gates I started to relax a lot. I was glad to be home, and I know things were going to be fine now. I knew I had enough protection here to ensure no one would come on the lands without us knowing about it.

With everything that happened, I knew we had to get more protection, I hoped Seff would be able to help with that. I wasn’t sure what kind of wolf she would be, or if she would have powers like Soma’s mother, I hoped we had magic on our side since Soma comes from a witch too. I wanted to know more about that, but I would wait for another time to talk to Mary about that.

“Welcome home.” Micah mused. “I will get the warriors to bring your bags up. Take Soma to your room I will be there in a little bit.”

“Look at you becoming the leader.” I chucked before getting out of the car. I gently grabbed Soma and headed into the house, a couple of warriors followed me to my room but stayed outside of the room.

Laying her down, I felt her heart rate shift for a second. Maybe she was feeling me and she would open her eyes, I waited and waited but her heart rate went back down to relax. I knew it was her, I knew she was trying to find her way back to me.

“Come back to my baby, I am waiting for you,” I said kissing her on her forehead. I felt a little better knowing she was responding to my touch, maybe it would only be a few more days and she would open her eyes and smile at me like she used to do when we went on dates.

I needed to find Nick and tell him he needed to stay away and find his mate. He needed to get on with his life even though he seemed like he was stuck with Soma. I knew I could handle protecting her, and he didn’t have to worry about me abandoning her, but I wanted him to be happy too.

He was starting a new life here, and I didn’t want it to start wrong. I wanted to meet his mate and get them married, I wanted to build them a small cottage if they didn’t want to live in the packhouse. I was excited for Nick too, I hoped he adjusted well here and didn’t want to run back to London, I would miss him even though we didn’t get along when we first met.

Closing the door behind me, the two warriors stood there. “Stay by this door and don’t let anyone go in there.”

“Yes, Alpha.” They both said bowing their heads.

I wasn’t sure where Nick was, but then I saw him outside. He looked like he was nervous and lost, I chuckled a little. He needed to know finding his mate shouldn’t be scary, so I was going to give him crap for it.
