Chapter 58

Soma’s POV

Having a Councilman standing in front of me, I wasn't sure how to feel about him. Part of me wanted to attack him and tell him that I knew how to live my life, the other part of me wanted to run and hide as fast as I could. I didn’t know what would happen now, the man was standing staring at both Oliver and me.

“Shall we shit?” Oliver suggested.

“No need,” Jericho spoke looking at me. “I am here to ensure you two do not fight this and come with us willingly. I don’t want to have to use anything but I will if I have to,” he warned. “Now are you two willingly coming with the Council or do we need to place you under arrest?” he said looking at Oliver.

“We’re not here to fight,” I said before Oliver could. “My mate and I have come to an agreement we will do as you ask, but we will speak at the hearing.”

“Fine.” he snapped. “You have ten minutes to get back together and to say goodbye. These things are like custody, you win some and you lose some,” he growled. “So I will be out front, you two have ten minutes,” he said before leaving us standing there.

“I guess we better get started huh?” I said walking over to him. “I know this isn't what we want, but we have to do what they say. I don’t want them hurting you.”

“They wouldn't hurt me, I would kill them with my bare hands,” he growled. “I don’t like this, the fact that he told you to pack a bag sounds like they’ve already made their decision and I don’t think that is fair at all,” he said putting his hands through his hair. “Why don’t we just get in my car and leave here, Micah can run the pack.”

“No,” I said shaking my head. “I know you think they would leave him alone, but they will probably arrest all these good people here, let’s just get this over and done with,” I said before going to my room and grabbing the bag that I’d already packed. I knew they were going to make me go, and there wasn't anything I could do about it.

So you knew?” Oliver asked when he saw that I had a bag already.

“I don’t know, I had a feeling,” I said shrugging my shoulders. “Something about my life being like this. I never expected anything easy, but this is one of the hardest. When my adopted parents first told me I was adopted well I was hurt and I started to hate them. I started to hate everyone when I was a teen and that caused a lot of problems. I had social services in my life they made my life just like it is now. Where my decisions don’t matter and I have to do what they want or else.”

“Well you’re only doing this because you don’t want me to kill them,” he said walking over to me. “I know you don’t want me to kill them, but this is how we are. We don’t let them take things from us, they don’t need to be here telling you to go back to Lycan territory. I don’t like this whole thing, I think something else worse is going to happen.”

I didn’t say anything, I felt the same way. Something was going to happen and we weren’t going to be able to do anything about it. I was pissed still but I had to keep a level head at least for now. I didn’t know how this whole thing worked, it didn’t matter they were going to do what they wanted.

“We better get outside, we’re close to the ten minutes,” I said touching his face. “This will be over sooner rather than later.” I half smiled at my lie. I was probably never going to see him again and that hurt worse than any kind of pain I felt.

We went outside, six SUVs were waiting for us, I wasn't sure why but I didn’t have time to ask. The back door to open of them opened and a man stepped out.

“Oliver Stone and Luna,” he said greeting us. “Sorry you have to go through this, but we have laws in place and I know a lot of it you don’t agree with,” he said looking at me. “But we have to do this because of the way things are. We have the Lycan King coming to the hearing later on, and then your fate will be decided.”

“So she doesn’t get to choose who she wants to be with?” Oliver growled. “You are just going to force her to be with someone other than her mate?”

“Calm down Alpha Stone you will be able to plead your case, had she been a wolf this wouldn't have been a problem,” he said looking at me again. “But she is, so we have to do things a little different. You and I both know the Lycans and Werewolves have been the best of friends. This is to protect us too. Please get in the car and we will talk about this when we get to the Council house.” he said stepping away from us so we could get into the vehicle that he got out of.

“Come on,” Oliver said motioning for me to get into the car.

“I don’t what to,” I said looking at him and then back into the car. “I know this is going to be the last time we get to see each other,” I said with a sad face.

“Well hopefully not,” he said sliding in next to me. “I will do everything I can in my power to show them that you need to be with me. I will teach you how to be a wolf properly.”

“But I don’t have a wolf,” I said with a sad face. “I still think a lot of what you’ve told me isn't anything to do with me,” I said looking out the window when I realized the car was moving, my heart was in my throat.

I wasn't sure how far we would have to travel to get to where we were heading. I was hoping it was a while so I could get my thoughts in place. Oliver thinks he can convince them that I belong with him, but in reality, the other man said I am being claimed by the Lycan King.

It didn’t take long to get to where we were going, Oliver sighed when the driver parked in front of the building.

“I guess we’re here then?” I said looking around.

“Yep,” Oliver said opening the door. A man instantly appeared next to the door. “Hi,” Oliver said forcing him to get out of the way so I could get out of the car.

When I got out I looked around, this looked like another packed house, it was big and inviting but my feet didn’t want to work when it came to walking. I was frozen in place, Oliver saw what was happening, he wrapped his arms around me and forced me into his chest.

“I know I don’t want to go in there either, but we have to see what they are going to force us to do,” he said kissing my forehead. “Whatever happens, I will find you and I will make sure they know they’ve made a mistake.”

“I don’t want you doing anything crazy Oliver,” I warned. “Just let things go, and if we’re meant to be together then we will find each other again,” I said pulling away from him.

As much as that hurt for me to do that, we didn’t have a choice. A couple of men appeared near us.

“Come inside they want to start.” one of them spoke.

I sighed, Oliver grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him. I knew he was having a hard time with this, probably worse than I was. I held onto his hand until we got into the room where six different people sat, they all stopped talking and looked at us.

“Please come in and sit down, we will start here in a few minutes.” One of them gestured at us to sit down.

I had to force my feet to move away from Oliver, he stayed where he was standing. I could tell he was thinking about doing something crazy. I grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to me.

“Come on please sit next to me, I want you close to me,” I said with a sad face.

He did as I asked him to, it was hard for him but he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I promise I will not do anything that puts your life in danger,” he said opening his eyes and looking at him.

“Don't do anything,” I warned. “I know you want me out of here, but violence isn't going to help us out in this. It will probably make everything worse.” I whispered.

“But I cannot just allow them to take you and not fight,” he said looking at the six men talking among themselves. “Please let me do this.”

“No Oliver,” I said kissing him on his lips. “I promise to find you when I am done taking care of my business here with the Lycans,” I promised him.
