Chapter 86

Oliver’s POV

Getting together with some of the Alphas that have been here for the beginning, we needed to gather on my pack lands and had to make plans. We needed to move fast, word got around to the Council about the vampires moving in on the Lycans, and everyone was notified. I was hoping things would be good and Soma would be saved before King Gideon forced her into his kingdom. I knew we had to get rid of him, but killing a Lycan King would be cause for war and I knew we were outnumbered when it came to the Lycans. We stayed away from them and they stayed away from us, we hadn’t had a war in centuries and I wasn't going to be known as the Alpha that ended us.

I still wanted to find out why the Council wouldn't let Soma make her own choices, I had a feeling King Gideon had something to do with it, I was going to torture him for his boldness, I knew enough about the man that he was bad, and he needed to be put down. I wasn't sure who Nathaniel was, I was a little nervous to meet him but I knew he was Soma’s father and the rightful King so we would do everything in our power to put him back where he needs to be. His people needed someone to lead them, and from what Nick has told me about him he was the right man for the job.

I knew I would have to be careful until I located Soma and ensured she was safe, but that still didn’t make things easier for me. This was something I feared the most, her getting hurt or killed because I wasn't fast enough to act.

“The Alpha’s are arriving,” Micah said coming into the office. “Some of them don’t want to be here it seems.”

“Oh?” I snapped. “Well tell them they don’t have to come in here and hear me out.” I was getting pissed and I hadn’t even seen any of the Alphas in a long time, and with Micah telling me they don’t want to be here I knew we were going to have to do this on our own which is fine.

“Well yeah some of them have most likely heard about her being Lycan and you know about how things are with them and us.”

“Yeah, but she is my mate and they need to understand that. When everyone has arrived call them to our meeting room. I need to get Drew out before I meet with them, I don’t need Drew attacking anyone because they fear the Lycan King.” I said before leaving the office.

Leaving my office I knew Micah was going to worry about me and how I would react. Honestly, I could kill anyone right now and not even feel anything bad about it. Soma was my mate and it was time I stepped up and became her mate. I would mark her and mate her and shower her with all the love I could and hope she would do the same. I still was afraid of how Soma would act seeing she hasn’t been around me at my worst, but I knew the Moon Goddess wouldn't have given me her if she didn’t have the forgiveness and love for her mate too.

“Relax she will love it.” Drew finally interrupted my thoughts. “Just because you want to kill everyone right now it will go away again.”

“Yeah but Drew we’ve been like this all our lives, I don’t want Soma to hate us because she is scared of us,” I whined. “I want her to know me as the loving protective mate I am.”’

“So she will, you just have to understand you are angry because she is missing and you cannot control what happens to her right now.”

“Still that doesn’t make me feel any better, I just let them take her. We could have stopped them from doing anything. I should have killed them all.” I snapped, I knew I had to get my anger under control but it seemed pointless, everyone needed to see that I was angry, maybe it would change their minds about messing with me.

“Well you need to take this one day at a time, we cannot control everything but what you can control is what happens at this Alpha meeting. You know just as well as I do everyone is afraid of the Lycan King because of the way he is with his own. We need to show them that we are their leader and we can go in Lycan territory and be better.”

“I know Drew, are we going to shift or are you going to talk to me all day. They are going to be here soon and I need to take a shower and grab something to eat otherwise my anger is going to be worse by the time they see me.”

“Fine,” he said, I could feel him rolling his eyes.

Maybe he didn’t want to run today, but I needed him to. He helps with my tension and anger so I let him take over and I took a seat in the back of my mind.

It was nice to feel him come out and be playful, I knew he was trying to distract me from everything, and honestly, it was working. I knew Drew had my back and would do everything he could to protect me, I knew he loved Soma too, so he would take her and keep her safe. I just wanted her near me so I could feel better. I knew she could make this darkness go away by being around her. I missed her and wanted to get to her as soon as I could, I knew we had to be careful but I was just going for her. I would kill anyone that came in my way and that would be the end of it.

“Are you ready to go and face the Alpha’s and see who is with us and who isn't?” Drew asked as he let me have control again.

“Yeah, I just hope we have more help than none,” I said as I slowly walked through the woods. “I mean as long as we have a couple that is willing to help I think we’ll be okay.”

Getting to the mansion was quick, I ran up and into my room and jumped in the shower. I didn’t realize how good the water was making me feel until it turned cold. Turning off the water, I walked into my room and found a suit I would wear to address the Alphas, They mostly knew me as a good person, but some of them had seen me at my darkest so I knew they would probably be afraid of me still which was fine at least they are here.

A knock at the door told me, Micah, was there. “Come in Micah,” I said calmly, I felt calm and that was something I was glad for.

“Are you feeling better?” he asked closing the door meaning he was going to talk to me about something and didn’t want anyone else to hear. “Some of the Alpha’s are still coming so you have time to get something to eat if you want, or if you want to go over what you’re going to tell them we can do that too.”

“I am just going to tell them what is going on, and where my mate is. I know a lot of them are going to be open to helping us, but I know the others are going to think we’re crazy and leave, and that is fine.” I said adjusting my tie. “I am not going to be mad if they all leave, I will just have to figure out something else to do. I will still go to London and make the recuse.”

“I want to go with you,” he said.

“No.” I snapped. “You know if something happens to me, you will have to care for our people and ensure that they know how to live.”

“I am positive we’re going to make it out of this and Soma is going to be our Luna, but I am worried about you making the wrong move or getting ambushed. I don’t want you losing your life when someone isn’t protecting you as they should.”

“Don't worry Micah we’ll be okay, I am going to go in there and take her and get out of there without trying to kill anyone, but I know that is wishful thinking because there are people that are loyal to the King and will die for them just like you would for me.”

“But that is different we are family, and they are people that can be replaced, do you think they are going to die for his cause, or are they going to wake up and realize that he doesn’t have their lives in mind because of his greed?”

“Who knows Micah, but let’s go and get something to eat that way I can control myself a little better. I am going into this meeting knowing I will most likely have one or two with me, and that will be enough I promise.”
