Chapter 106
Oliver’s POV
Listening to what Nathaniel had to say, I knew if Soma survived this she would be without a wolf. I knew she wouldn't be a weak Luna, but I was worried she would doubt herself alongside me. But forcing Seff back into the chains was the only way we could ensure she was safe. I knew Soma would ask a lot of questions about what happened. I wasn't sure how much she would remember, I hoped she would remember everything that way it would make sense.
Picking her up, and following Nathaniel out of the throne room, he lead us to another room that had a bad and everything.
“This was her room when King Gideon brought her here, she may not remember this place but at least you can rest until she can go back to New York,” Nathaniel said looking at me. “In the morning I hope she is awake so we can explain what happened and hopefully get her back on the path of recovery.”
“Yes I want to take her home, she needs to be around our pack. I want to officially bring her into my pack as soon as she is well enough.” I said looking down at her, her color was returning but she looked like she was defeated. I hope she forgave me for everything and still wanted to be with us. I hoped the pack loved her without a wolf, I know I will.
Walking into the room Nathaniel provided us with, I gently laid Soma on the bed and looked over her wounds. She was bleeding everywhere, I wasn't sure if Nathaniel was going to send a doctor to us, but I needed to see how bad her injuries were. Her back was split open this pissed both Drew and me off but I knew it was something I couldn’t have stopped seeing they used Night’s bane and that stuff was almost lethal to us.
A knock startled me out of my thoughts, I didn’t want to deal with anyone right now. I didn’t even have time to get some warm water and start cleaning her wounds. I walked over to the door and opened it, a lady was standing there with medicine.
“Come in,” I said moving out of the way.
“King Nathaniel told me you needed some medical attention.” she half-smiled.
“No, no I am fine, but my mate was badly beaten so she needs some help,” I said looking over at Soma. “Please.”
“Of course,” she said bowing before walking over to the bed.
I wanted to watch her make sure she didn’t do anything to Soma, but I had a feeling this girl was a good doctor and she would ensure Soma would be healing without infection.
It took a while for her to clean all the wounds and put bandages all around her. She almost looked like a mummy. The doctor injected her with something.
“What is that?” I demanded to know.
“Pain medicine, taking a beating like this you don’t want her to wake up in pain,” she said putting the syringe away. “Don't worry it’s a light dose, but if she needs more just have one of the guard's minds link me and I will bring some more,” she said moving away from Soma. “I am sorry your mate had to go through this.”
“Me too.” I smiled as we walked to the door. “Thank you for taking care of my mate, I am sorry I snapped at you.”
“Don't worry, I would have done the same thing. You are rather calm for this and I am thankful for that,” she said before walking out of the room.
Walking back over to the bed I checked on her again and then decided I needed to take a shower and wash all the blood off of me. I was surprised the doctor didn’t look at me weird, but then again she probably dealt with every one of these Lycans and their battle wounds. I was surprised this castle was as nice as it was. I wouldn't mind living in a castle, but I knew it would be over the top if I did something like this in New York and it would probably look weird.
I still couldn’t believe I was mated to a Princess, would that make me a Prince and then a King when she became Queen.
After my shower, I crawled into bed with Soma. When Drew felt her close he finally relaxed. I knew he missed her more than anyone. I missed her too but he had this deeper connection.
“Drew do you feel her wolf?” I asked.
“No,” he said sounding sad. “I did when she was out, her anger was horrible but I could feel her wolf just wanting to protect her.”
“I know, I felt that too. I knew she wasn't going to let anyone hurt her if she could stop it.” I said.
“Are we going to get her back?” he asked.
“I don’t know Drew, so far everyone thinks her wolf is gone,” I said with a sad voice. “But if the Moon Goddess gave her Seff as a wolf, I don’t think she is going to leave Soma without her. I think Seff was sent back to where she was because of what the vampire King did to her. I just hope they both recover and we can enjoy them together.”
“Me too, get some rest I need some time alone with our mate even if I am not in control,” he said before disappearing into the back of my mind.
I knew he was bothered by everything, and so was I. I wanted to know more about Seff but I wasn't entirely sure the King knew a lot about her. Maybe he did and that is why he sent her to live with humans. I wish I would have found her sooner, that way I could have protected her a lot better than I did. I knew I owed her a lot from her waiting and fighting against Gideon. I still wish I would have made his death more slow and painful.
Closing my eyes I tried to go to sleep but things were just too much. I wanted Soma to open her eyes and tell me what she wanted to do. I wanted her to see that she was safe finally and we could be together, I wanted to take her home. I knew she missed her tea shop, and I knew she loved what she was doing there. I just hoped she still had that passion for her shop, I didn’t want to see her fall and cry because she was giving up on everything. I knew I had to be a better mate, and we’re going to be more protective over her. I failed her the first time, but this time I was going to ensure she was always safe even when they want to try and take her. I will kill everyone that comes near her, I will ask questions later.
It seemed like hours went by, the sun was coming up. I was getting hungry but I wanted to wait for Nathaniel to come for me. I wanted to know what he wanted to do, I knew he was going to let me take Soma back with me. But I wanted him to be able to talk to her, I wanted her to wake up. She was still breathing, and her heart rate was still racing. I guess the venom is still going crazy in her blood, I wondered if I should try and mark her to help her heal.
Walking to the door, I looked back at Soma. I didn’t want to leave her, but I needed to get out for a moment at least figure out how far the kitchen was, I needed to eat before I lost control of myself.
Opening the door the same girl from yesterday was standing there with her medical bag. “Hello Oliver, I’ve come to check on you and your mate?” she smiled.
“Oh come on in,” I said moving out of the way.
“How are you feeling?” she asked stopping in front of me.
“I am healed,” I said looking at Soma. “I want to know what I can do to make her wake up?” I said with a sad voice.
“I don’t think you can do anything, she has to wake up when she is healed. Since things happened to her it’s taking a little longer to heal. Nathaniel suggests you go and get something to eat, I will stay with your mate until you come back.”
“I am okay, I will go later,” I said shaking my head. “I don’t want to lose her again.”
“Don't worry Alpha she is safe here, I promise King Nathaniel is already ensuring everyone is safe from anything Gideon wanted to be done.” she smiled. “The kitchen is down the hall and through the door on the left, I promise I will make sure she is safe.”
I didn’t want to go, but it seemed like the Doctor was okay. She knew what she was doing and Soma would be safe. I was glad I could relax a little. “Alright I will be back in a little while,” I said walking over to Soma and kissing her on her forehead.
