Chapter 67
Lycan King Gideon’s POV
Beating Soma wasn’t what I wanted to do, but she provoked me and I had no choice. I had to show my people that not even the Queen will disrespect me, I will break her. My Lycan was still jumping around in my head, he was annoyed and pissed off at me because of what I did but I had no choice.
I was glad Nick was willing to help with her. When he came to me and begged me to take him on as someone that can help me. He has helped a lot, and he will get his reward. I decided I needed to show her my kind side. It might help with getting her to do simple stuff for me, once she is broken that way then I will force her hand.
Walking to her room, I heard her and Nick talking. I decided to listen to see what Nick was telling her. If he was doing what I asked him to.
“What, what are you talking about?” Soma said.
“I betrayed the crown. “You just haven’t figured everything out, but you will.” He paused. “Just know my death will be peaceful because you’ll get to order it.”
“What!” Soma growled. “Please explain to me what you’re talking about?”
“He can’t he’s under code until you become Queen you are not allowed to know,” I said coming into the room. “I came to apologize for the way I was with you earlier,” I said but didn’t move from the doorway. “Time for your patrol Nick, you two have had enough to talk about.” He snapped.
“I’ll see you later Princess,” Nick said before walking past King Gideon.
“Your dinner is coming, after please take a shower I will expect you to honor my request to change into something nicer than you are wearing,” I said glancing at the gown. “Please.”
I wanted her to come and eat with me, but after the beating she got, I doubt she wanted anything to do with me. That is fine, I will wait for she will come.
“Why are you putting me on patrols?” Nick growled coming towards me.
“Because you almost messed everything up.” I snapped at him. “Stop telling Soma stuff, there are things that she cannot know otherwise this is going to make everything go to hell,” I said as we walked.
“But you want me to protect her and make sure she doesn’t try and run then?” he asked.
“Are you dumb?” I growled rolling my eyes. “You have one job ensure the mutts don’t get the girl when they come. Oliver isn’t stupid, he will figure out our game and beat us at it if we don’t stay one or two steps ahead of him.
“So you think they are coming?” he asked. “When?”
“I don’t know, I am sure sooner rather than later. Oliver doesn’t want me mating with the girl, but what he doesn’t know is if she does mate with me, she is mine anyways.” I half-smiled. “But if he gets here before I get to, I am going to force mark her and that will damage her and probably make her Lycan go feral when it’s awakened.”
“But we don’t have anyone that can awaken it.”
“We have her father.” I mused.
“You have Nathaniel as a prisoner?”
“Yep.” I giggled.
“And that explains why,” Nick said looking away from me. “Let’s go and talk to him and see if he can tell us how to awaken her Lycan.”
We walked down to the dungeon, Nathaniel was in the corner, his back to us. “Good evening Nathaniel.” I mused. “How has your stay been?”
“Come to gloat?” he snapped without looking at me.
I remember when he used to be this feared leader, and then he met the human and everything turned against the Lycans. He had to lose his family there was no going around that, and when they went and hid their daughter I was pissed.
“About?” I asked curiously.
“I’ve heard, you’ve got my daughter,” he said turning to face me. “She isn't going to be the pushover you want, she is from me,” he said getting to his feet, I could tell he was weak and was struggling. “She will kill you.”
“I would love to see that happen.” I laughed. “You realize your daughter doesn’t have a Lycan and is almost as human as an actual human,” I said looking at Nick. “Even Nick had to ensure she stayed safe, she had issues in the states with vampires what do you know about that?”
“Nothing why?”
“Because I have a feeling we’ll be having a visit from the vampire King himself,” I said looking back at him. “So when he does come, I expect you by myself to control your daughter otherwise it will provoke a war.”
“So leave her out of this, this has nothing to do with her,” Nathaniel growled.
“I can't, word has spread across the realm about her return and her getting ready to take my hand and the throne.” I mused. “But when that happens it won’t be for a while, but I need to fool the blood demons of their games,” I said shifting myself, I hated asking for help but Nathaniel knows more about the vampire King than I do and I need to know his secrets.
“Fine,” he said. “But I expect you to allow me to roam,” he said looking at Nick. “I want a nice room near my daughter.”
“A nice room is done, by your daughter no.” I snapped. I knew he was going to throw that at me, but he isn't going to get near her. I don’t need them plotting anything because I know Nathaniel would love to take my spot again and I am not so willing to give it up.
“Fine whatever I am going to have to speak to her at some point,” he said pushing the door open after the guard unlocked it. “I know you don’t want us anywhere near each other but she is Queen and my daughter.”
“Yeah, we’ll see if she wants to talk to you.” I mused. “Last I heard she doesn’t know anything about you and that likely is going to hurt her when she finds out that you’ve been alive and wanting to talk to her but truly have nothing in common.”
I wanted to provoke something out of him so I could do a little damage and show him his place but he wasn't going for the bait.
“So dinner in an hour, go and get cleaned up,” I said before walking away from Nathaniel, Nick followed me.
“You are going to test him before the vampire King comes,” Nick questioned.
“Yes, I want to show him that he cannot have his daughter, he gave her up when he left her to be raised by humans,” I said looking at him.
“Are you going to kill him if he doesn’t do what you want?”
“No.” I smiled. “Soma is.”
“How are you going to get Soma to kill her father? Just because she doesn’t know about him or anything about him do you think she would just kill him?” he wanted to know and I didn’t want to tell him. She would be forced to choose between the two of them. Where would her loyalty stand? Most likely Nick.
“Don't worry about it right now Nick, we have a lot of planning to do and there isn't enough time in the day for nonsense. Please go and check on Soma and be sure she is having a good day.” I said before walking into my office.
I needed to figure out how to get the attention back to our Kingdom now that I have the rightful heir. I wanted to teach her to be a leader at least in the public eye. I want her to fall at my feet and wash them and give me pleasure.
“Sir.” one of my warriors interrupted my thoughts.
“What?”
“The Council’s on the phone.”
“Well put it through,” I said picking up the phone. “King Gideon,” I said.
“Ah yes finally we get to speak on the phone. I have been calling and leaving messages. I don’t know how long your treaty will hold with the werewolf world gets word that you force a Luna from her pack.” he began.
“And so that would make me stronger. They will see I am not afraid to get into their lands and rip the women from their packs.” I snapped.
“But this isn't good for us, the Council shouldn’t have to come in between things anymore. We have far too many things still to do and you and your fifth are causing issues.”
“I don’t care, I took what was mine from them. She is Lycan therefore mine.” I snapped. “If the werewolves want a war then so be it, we’re not afraid to die for our Queen, their Luna.”
I hung up the phone, I didn’t need to hear anymore. He wants to tell me I am about to start a war, maybe that is what I want. I want the mutts to kill each other trying to get to Soma, it will be like the endless amount of blood in around, an almost perfect setting.
