Chapter 38

King Gideon’s POV

Knowing Nick was being slow about everything was pissing me off. He knew I didn’t like to wait, but he thought making me wait was a good thing. I was going to send people to New York whether he had a month or not. This was getting out of hand, and the longer the Princess was away from us, the more likely it would be she would be murdered. Did he not realize if the vampires and witches knew what she was, she would be in danger and probably sought. I knew he was already having issues with the vampires, but yet he plays with her life like he doesn’t love her too.

“King Gideon we have word that Nick is on his way to London.” one of my warriors mind-linked me.

“Oh really, and how much of the information do you trust?” I quizzed.

“He should be here in eight hours. I didn’t know he was coming otherwise I would have sent someone to meet him.”

“He’s not supposed to be coming home yet, not unless he is with the girl.” I gritted through my teeth. Now he was pissing me off, how dare he come home without her. What was he thinking? “Is he with anyone or alone?”

“Alone it looks, King Gideon. Do you want me to arrest him when he enters London?”

“No I want him followed, I want to know what he is doing here. He isn't here to stay that is for sure, he would have told me he was coming.” I said walking to the window. He is here for information, and he didn’t want me to know that he was coming. Interesting.

I had eight hours to figure out what I was going to say to him. But now that he is here, it will be easier for me to send my men to take her, I wasn't giving her an option. I just hoped she didn’t mate with her mate otherwise that is going to throw everything out, and that was something I wasn't willing to do. I guess I would have to wait until I spoke with Nick in person, and see what he says. I would know if he lied to me, he knew better but he has lied in the past. My patience with him was done anyway, the faster the boy was killed or sent somewhere where he couldn’t come back, I wouldn't care. I thought about sending him now, but that wouldn't be good for the girl. She would need someone here that she trusted until she understood her place.

“Nick’s plane has landed.” the warrior linked me again.

“Well follow him, I want to know what he’s looking for. He’s up to something and I want to know what it is.”

“Yes sir.”

So now I have to wait to find out why he is here. If the warrior cannot figure it out, then I will request that he be brought to the castle and he will confess why he is here alone. I was still angry with him because he could have stopped everything, but he wanted to do things his way.

I decided to eat something, it would be later I would request him to come to the castle, and if he resisted I would arrest him and put my plan in play, and there wouldn't be anyone to stand in my way. If the mutts

“He’s looking for Nathaniel.” the warrior linked me.

“Why?”

“I don’t know, but it probably has something to do with his daughter. He’s been asking where he could find him.”

“Eh too bad he isn't in London anymore, I sent them packing.” I mused. “Bring him to the castle, let’s figure out why he is here,” I said leaning against the wall. I already knew why he was here, he was pissing me off. All he had to do was bring the girl here and he would have been rewarded, but now he wants to play games. Fine, we can play games, maybe I won't let him go back to New York and just send my people.

A half an hour later, I heard Nick’s voice. He wasn't too happy that he was here, but I didn’t care.

“Why am I here Gideon?” Nick snapped.

“That’s a good question, that is why I brought you here. Why are you in London, I told you not to come back until the girl is with you.”

“I am looking for her father if you must know. I want to know more about her so I can break her out of this shell that she is in,” he said leaning against a wall. “I was hoping he would have been in the pub tonight, but seeing I am here you must know where he is.”

“I sent him away.” King Gideon mused. “You think I want him around when his daughter is brought home? No, he will do everything in his power to stop what I want to do,” he growled. “Now you being here leaves her unprotected, how do we know she is safe?”

“She is with the mutts,” Nick growled at me.

“Do you consider her safe? How do we know they are true to her, Lycans and werewolves don’t get along, they haven't for centuries, do you realize how dangerous her situation is?” I growled stomping around, I was pissed and he knew this.

“She is a lot safer than she would be here.” Nick snapped. “I don’t think you have her best interest at heart, and the fact that you are going to deny her mate, I don’t think she would want to come here.”

“She isn't going to have a choice Nick, I am going to ensure she likes her time here. I could make her life better or worse, and you are going to be the one that helps me with that.” I snared at her. “Don't make this harder on her, you know she belongs among her people.”

“She doesn’t know anything about our people Gideon, and you want to bring her here and force her to become a breeding machine for someone that stole the crown?”

I growled at him, he knew he was going into waters I couldn’t control. “I stole no such thing!” I growled. “I would suggest you relax your next words, my Lycan doesn’t take kindly to you accusing!”

“But it’s true Gideon, why else would you make Nathaniel leave before his daughter is brought here,” Nick said pushing himself off the wall. “I know for a fact you don’t want her to see him because he will tell her the truth. Luckily she doesn’t know anything about being a Princess.”

“Maybe if you tell her she is a Princess she will come here?” I suggested. I knew he wasn't going to tell her anything, he didn’t want her here that is known. “Don't make me do what I am planning to anyways. You know she is going to be brought here. I didn’t want to traumatize the girl but I will if I have to.”

“You’ll do no such thing!” Nathaniel’s voice boomed. “My daughter isn't going to be forced to become a breeding machine to a false king.”

“You have no say in this Nathaniel, didn’t I tell you to leave?” I growled. “Now I don’t need the two of you causing issues, the princess needs to be brought back home. She doesn’t need to breed with a wolf!”

“She will breed with who she wants!” Nathaniel growled. “I only let you keep your crown because there is a calming here, but don’t make me second guess myself and challenge you for it!”

I almost wanted to laugh, I’ve kept Nathaniel from training, he was a weak old king that couldn’t fight me now. I could kill him now and be done with him too. “You are far too old for that old man!” I laughed. “But if you want to challenge me for the crown, then we can do this. But I will not live by the code this time around. Your life will be ended.” I warned.

“I’m not scared of death Gideon, you taught me to welcome in when you banned me from my kingdom. The only reason the people haven't stood up to you is that they are waiting on me to come back. We can fight but be warned I have built myself up and you will die slowly. But the fighting has to wait until we ensure my daughter is safe and taken care of.” he said looking at Nick. “Send him back to my daughter to ensure the vampires don’t harm her.”

“Fine,” I growled rolling my eyes. “When she is brought here, she will witness your death and then be forced to do what I want.”

“That’s if you beat me.” Nathaniel mused before leaving us standing there. Did he think he could take me? He hasn't had training in a long time, and he was fatter than he was when he was King. This was going to be a glorious fight and death for him. I couldn’t wait.
