Chapter 99

Vampire King’s POV

Oliver was the only one that I felt wasn't a threat. Maybe it was because he was that close to his mate that he didn’t want to take a chance and hurt anyone. I wanted to see his face when he saw her, I know Roman was left in charge of her, I knew King Gideon didn’t even know his kind was with me. She was going to be mine, Roman was the reason I was able to get into their walls without anyone knowing, so with that I told him I would allow him anything he wanted.

“Is this the werewolf?” one of my generals asked.

“Yeah, he is the one I hope makes things easier,” I said looking at Oliver. “But he has one of those crazy wolves when provoked so you have to watch him carefully,” I said looking at the castle. “Has there been any movement lately?”

“No it seems like they are expecting nothing,” he said shrugging his shoulders. “Where is the King?”

“Here,” I said tossing him the bag with his head. “I think this will get people to realize he is dead and Nathaniel can retake his spot. Maybe we actually can live in peace among the Lycans again.”

“You think he is going to let us?”

“Yes. He is a good friend or was. I don’t know how he is now that he cannot speak.”

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“Well apparently King Gideon cut out his tongue because he wanted to be close to his daughter, and King Gideon didn’t want her to know the truth. That is why I need Oliver here.” I said looking down at the wolf trying to regain his senses. “Don't worry Oliver you are going to see your mate soon enough just for a little while.”

“I am not going to let you take her from me,” he growled at me, it was almost funny. He was like a lost puppy trying to find his way home. I knew this was going to go my way whether or not I had to kill him.

“Don't make me regret bringing you, I wanted you to see that your mate was safe, but I will take you down and put you with your friends. Don’t make me go to your pack before you regain your strength, I will do whatever I have to.”

“She isn't property, she is my mate,” Oliver whined. “I don’t want you hurting her.”

“I don’t plan to hurt her Oliver, I just want her to become a vampire hybrid so she can unleash her power on those that have done us wrong. Don’t you want the humans to pay for what they’ve done to your kind?”

“Leave them alone,” he said rolling his eyes back. I knew he was a fighter, but I wasn't sure how many nights bane he could take without killing him. I’ve only ever used it on a few of them and they’ve died, but Oliver he’s strong. I could tell he could take more, but I wanted him to be alert when we go into the castle, it would make everything so much easier for us.

“Prepare the prisoners to go into the castle, we need to ensure everything goes the way we want. Let Roman know we’re coming in so he can call off the dogs so we don’t have to kill anyone just yet.” I said walking away from Oliver, Alpha Zane, and Nick.

I knew taking Nick in would be a good idea because of Soma. I didn’t know how she would react to seeing Oliver, but I hoped she would relax enough so I could get close enough to bite her. Well, that was my plan at least, I needed to awaken Seff and the other things haven't worked, so biting her was the next thing I wanted to try. I hope it works because then everything else in my plans would work and everyone would be happy.

“Roman knows we’re here, he is welcoming us now, he wants to send a few Lycans out here to ensure we know where to go.” Nikolai followed me.

“Good I cannot wait to see his reaction when he sees I was true to my word.” I smiled. “Make sure King Gideon’s head is with us, I would hate to look stupid because someone forgot it.”

“I have it,” he said showing me the bag. “The prisoners are getting annoying we should go before you have to hit them again with the Bane,” he said glancing back at the three of them, he was right they were beginning to move around. I knew Nick wouldn't do anything, Oliver would. I was honestly only worried about the Alpha that I didn’t know. He had a mouth on him and I didn’t want to have to kill him in front of Oliver, but I would.

“Fine, let’s get going,” I said following him back to where Oliver was. “Oliver you are going to see your mate now, you better not try anything crazy,” I warned but he didn’t do anything to let me know he was listening. It didn’t matter he would see her just before I bite her. I wasn't sure how she would react but again that didn’t matter, I just needed her a few minutes and that would be the end of everything.

We made our way to the gate, a few Lycans were standing there. I could tell from the way they were standing they didn’t want to let us go into the castle.

“I am going to warn you if you do not let us pass you will die.” I snapped at them, they both looked at each other and I could tell they wanted to shift, but they lowered their heads and moved out of the way.

I wondered if Roman was talking to his men to let them know we were coming, or if this was just something the Lycans knew about us vampires that we didn’t care if we killed them they would be dead and we still would be able to get to where we needed to go. It didn’t matter though, we pushed the gate open and headed to the front of the gate.

“Are you sure you could trust Roman, he was King Gideon's right-hand man?” Nikolai asked.

“It doesn’t matter if we cannot trust him he is going to be one of the ones that die tonight as well,” I smirked. “But yeah we can trust him as far as we can feed on him. Once his blood is gone, he doesn’t matter anymore.”

“So who are you going to let live if you plan to kill Roman and the others?” he asked.

His questions were meaningless, it didn’t matter who I was going to let life, Nathaniel was going to be the only one alive if I had my way but I didn’t want to kill all his good men if they would back him. I knew he was going to have to rebuild his army since a lot of them were against him when he fell. But I would be here to ensure things didn’t take a bad turn for him unless he doesn’t want us around and wants us gone. Like I said before we had a good relationship, so I don’t see how he wouldn't want us around.

“We will do what we have to, but be ready to kill anyone because King Gideon was a horrible King and lots of people thought he was doing them a good thing when he treated a lot of the poor residents of this land the way he did,” I said as we followed the two Lycans in front of us.

I could smell they were afraid of me which is something I enjoyed. I knew they were communicating with either Roman or each other because their eyes were glassed over. It was kind of amusing to see them trying to act like badass Lycans when they weren’t.

Once we found our way to what I was assuming was the King’s chamber they stopped and turned to face us.

“He wants us to wait here, but you need to go in.” one of them said as he pushed the door open. “The door will be closed upon you entering.”

“Yeah, yeah I said rolling my eyes I didn’t care if Roman wanted to lock us in. maybe he was planning on something and he thought this was the best thing for him. He knew I was a cold-blooded killer so he was trying to stand his ground and he would fall among my feet if he crossed us.

“Please go in and be nice, this isn't supposed to be a war between vampires and Lycans.” the guard said.

“I don’t think you have to worry about us,” I smirked. “But you don’t even believe what you’re saying so I will let you think about your words. I am going to be around a lot more now that Nathaniel is King.”

“But Nathaniel isn’t King, King Gideon is.” he snapped.

“Not anymore,” I said waving the bloodied bag at him before walking into the room.
