Chapter 50

Soma’s POV

Opening the door, Oliver was standing there. I wasn't sure if there was something wrong or if he was stressed.

“Hey.” I half smiled and moved out of the way so he could come into the room. I watched him walk over to the window and lookout. Now I knew something was wrong. “What’s wrong Oliver?” I asked walking behind him and touching his arm, he flinched a little but that was expected I guess.

“I need you,” he said turning to face me. “Not in a sexual way,” he said shaking his head. “But I need to be close to you,” he said wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a hug.

“Tell me what’s wrong, I can tell something is wrong and I don’t like you not telling me,” I said into his chest.

“Well you may have to reject me,” he said with a sad voice.

“What? What are you talking about?” I asked pulling away from him. I was confused and a little scared. Was this his way of telling me that he didn’t want me anymore, tears threatened to spill out of my eyes.

“Well since you are a Lycan we are not allowed to mate together,” he said touching my face. “The Council will be sending someone here to take us to the Council and they will decide our fate,” he said with a pissed-off face. “Even if we want to be together if they say we cannot then we cannot.”

“I am not going to be mated to anyone else,” I growled. “I know I am still new at all of this, but my feelings for you are great and this isn't something someone can tell me what to do about,” I said pushing away from him. “I am not going to allow them to decide what is best for me because I am different.”

“I am not going to let them take you away from me, we will figure out how to get this whole thing sorted and I will ensure you are mine,” he said walking over to me and wrapping his arms around me again. “I promise I am not going to reject you because they tell me to, and I hope you don’t do it unless you don’t want to be mated.”

“I want you, Oliver, can we just do this now and get it over with?” I suggested. “I mean it will stop everything from happening, and we won't have to worry about them taking me away if we’re already mated.”

“If we mate now, it could cause more issues. I want them to see we are willing to do as they ask as far as meeting with them. When we meet we will tell them that we are going to mate and they cannot tell us what to do about it.” Oliver said touching my face. “After we leave the first thing I am going to do is mate with you, I am dying to be close to you.”

“I hope our first time will be special,” I said pulling away from him again.

I was worried about this whole Council thing, I felt like they were going to make me leave Oliver and never return to his side. That scared me the most, well other than being with someone else that doesn’t love me as Oliver does.

I didn’t want to show him I was worried, so I turned to face him with a smile. “Well until these Council people come for us, I think we should enjoy our time together. I know things aren't going the way that we thought they would be, but that has been my life.” I said shrugging my shoulders. “My adoptive parents always told me that I came from some strong parents and I’ve lived off that my whole life, I just hope that isn't a lie. I hope my real parents didn’t make this agreement with the Council when I was a baby, that would hurt if they did anything like that.”

“I don’t think they had anything to do with this,” Oliver said shaking his head. “But if they did we will make sure the Council knows you are old enough and you understand the laws. Speaking of laws we should find out more about the Lycan ones so we at least don’t look stupid when we talk and defend our decision.”

I didn’t say anything, I was just learning about what he was and now he wants to dabble into the Lycan world. This was starting to scare me a little, I didn’t know what kind of answers we would find and I was afraid he wouldn't like them when we came across them. I didn’t want him to hate me because of how my species is, I wanted him to continue to love me as he does.

It scared me knowing his whole life he’d searched for me, and now it was on the verge of being taken away from us. I didn’t know how I would react to the news, it scared me going to a new place. But it also made me curious since my entire life had been a lie.

“So where do we begin?” I asked breaking the silence.

“Well we have to go to the library, I am hoping someone has something about the Lycans and how they are. Their rules or something,” he said rubbing his neck. “We will read whatever we can and when they come we will walk out of this house with nothing to be scared about.”

“But I am scared,” I said with a tear coming down my cheek. “This is going to end up weird and bad,” I said shaking my head. “They are going to force me to go back to my lands and then I am going to have to learn to be a Lycan even though I am no beast.”

“You are a Lycan yes,” he said touching my face. “But a beast no,” he said shaking his head. “We will find each other again if things don’t go the way they are supposed to.”

“Oliver, they arent going to go the way we want them to. I already can tell the way you are, the way your body language has changed since you walked into my room. You are just as afraid of this as me, and I don’t know what else we can do to make things right without going through this Council thing.”

“Well we cannot,” he said pulling me closer to him. “I am done talking about the Council, may I kiss you?”

“Yeah,” I said blushing.

He kissed me and I kissed him back, I felt his hands start to roam. Part of me wanted to stop him, but the other part of me wanted him to keep going. I moved my hands all around his body, he was a lot more fit than I thought he was.

“Enjoying yourself?” he asked pulling away from the kiss.

“Maybe,” I said blushing.

“Maybe we should head downstairs, as much as I want to keep going, I don’t want any more issues until our issues are resolved,” he said kissing my forehead.

I was a little sad that he wanted to stop, but I was glad he did. I wasn't ready for sex, and with the bomb, he’d just dropped about this Council thing, I didn’t want to press our luck. We needed to keep ourselves level-headed and having sex, was not it.

“Yeah I’m starving, and I know your pack missed you today.”

“Our pack, but yes I am starving too.” he chuckled.

We walked downstairs hand and hand, everyone was already at the table waiting for us. Micah looked up and smiled.

“Finally, we thought you two would never come down, how was your bath Luna Soma?” he chuckled.

“Um.” I blushed.

“Leave it,” Oliver said rolling his eyes. “After dinner, you and I need to do some work,” he said to Micah.

“Everything okay?” he asked taking a bite of his food.

“No,” Oliver said.

Nothing else was said during dinner. I was thinking about this whole thing, how this Lycan King thought he had something with me. I didn’t want to be mated to someone else, especially someone that I didn’t know or probably would like. I didn’t want to get to know how my world works, I just wanted to be in Olivers.

Oliver touched my arm and brought me out of my thoughts. “What are you thinking about?”

I blinked and looked around everyone was already gone and it was just Oliver and I sitting there. I hadn't eaten much of my food, and I wasn't that hungry.

“Just what is happening,” I said looking at him. “I don’t want to be with anyone else, I don’t want to be forced to go home when I never grew up there,” I said shaking my head. “I want to stay here and I want the Council to leave us alone.”

“I will work on everything so that we don’t have to leave here,” he said touching my face. “But you need to eat, you have to keep your strength and I want you to rest tonight. I will go with Micah and find some answers, tomorrow we will know more I promise,” he said before getting up and leaving me sitting there.

I was afraid he wouldn't find what we needed.
