Chapter 120
Soma’s POV
I walked around the house and the yard, and I explored the shop. Oliver watched me curiously, I think he was hoping I would say something but I didn’t know what to say. He has done so much for me, I don’t even know where to begin.
Finally turning to face him. “I think I want to close the tea shop, I don’t think it’s for me anymore.” I frowned. “I mean I loved my dream, but I feel like we have something bigger planned for us, and I am ready to take that step.”
“Are you sure that is something you want to do?” he asked coming closer to me. “We can keep the store open, I can even send some help for you so you are not alone.”
“No,” I said shaking my head. “If I don’t close the store I will regret it, and I want to be closer to home I know you want me here too.”
“Well yeah of course I do, but I don’t want you to feel like you are a prisoner here because you don’t feel like you’ll be safe. We’re always going to make sure no one can hurt you, and this time I am not going to be hesitant and kill someone. I will kill the whole world for you.”
“But I don’t want you to have to kill anyone, I just want to live and love and have a family and not have to worry about you and getting you upset.”
“Well I will do everything I could to prevent myself from killing someone, but there is no way I can promise not,” he said sticking his tongue out. He was a typical guy, always getting what he wanted it was kind of cute I had to admit. I knew he wouldn't kill someone unless he had to, I still feel bad that he had to kill someone because of me, but that man needed to die. He didn’t have a good bone in his body, and I didn’t like him much. I wish I could remember the stuff that happened before he died, but everything was a blur.
“What are you thinking about?” Oliver asked pulling me closer to him.
“Just the night everything went down, I don’t remember much and I don’t even remember King Gideon dying,” I admitted. “I kind of want to know.”
“I know, but I don’t think it’s wise that we go over that night because I don’t want you to get depressed, it wasn't for fault and there was nothing you did that night to cause his death. He had it coming, there were a lot of things that he did that he shouldn’t have. He even went as far as to make sure your father had no tongue, do you remember that?”
“Yes and no,” I said shaking my head. “I know he didn’t want my father talking to me, I didn’t know he did that to his tongue because of it,” I said with a sad face. “So many people suffered because of me, but yet you love me.”
“We all love you, Soma, I don’t want you to forget that. I know this is a lot to come to terms with but things that happened weren't your fault. You were just chosen to go through it because the Moon Goddess knew you would be strong enough to get through it.”
“I guess, maybe you’re right,” I said trying to smile but it was hard for me. He was right and I shouldn’t be holding anything over myself. I didn’t ask for this, and I didn’t tell King Gideon to do what he wanted to do to me. I needed to get past that, I needed to forgive myself even though there was nothing to forgive.
“You know I am right Soma. This has nothing to do with your fault, I promise King Gideon died a painful death before he died,” he said. “I did things that I shouldn’t have, but I don’t regret it. I know what he did to you is far worse than what I did to him, and I wish I would have made him suffer a little before I ripped his heart out.”
“You ripped his heart out?” I gasp.
“Yes, I told you he deserved far more than that, but I reacted along with Drew so he got a quick death.” he smiled. “So how can we talk about something better than this dead false King?”
“Yeah maybe,” I said turning away from him. I couldn’t believe he ripped his heart out, but I guess she was right he deserved it. I don’t know what happened before that, but I guess I shouldn’t ask any more questions.
“How about we go back to talking about the store. Did you want me to wait or do you want me to send some warriors to clean it out?” he asked kissing me on my forehead.
“I think you should send someone to clean it out. Maybe I should help since it’s my mess and it might make me feel better.” I admitted it would probably make me feel better. I knew Oliver would be there to help and whoever else he wanted to bring in.
“I think it would be a good idea for you to come to the store and help. I don’t want you to do it yourself, but I think it will help you heal a little.” he smiled. “But don’t worry I will be sure to keep on your butt about you slacking on picking up stuff.”
“Ha, ha you are funny Oliver. How about I make you clean the whole store and tell everyone to get on you about doing it, then it will be fun.” I said sticking my tongue at him.
“I could do that, but I will complain the entire time and drive you crazy. Do you realize I have this baby voice that drives Micah crazy I bet it will make you crazy too.” he laughed, we both laughed really. I loved seeing this side of him and was glad he was finally letting me in.
We messed around the lake for most of the rest of the day, it was good to be dorky and fun again. I missed how I was with Nick. I still didn’t get a chance to see him, I don’t know if he was avoiding me or just busy with something Oliver had him doing.
“I was supposed to see Nick, but I think he is ignoring me.” I pouted.
“He is on his way over here now, I told him not to forget to come and see you and he is bringing a new friend with him.” he smiled as he leaned against a tree. “But you have to be nice to her, she is a fun girl from what I’ve been told.”
We waited for a while before Nick and a girl walked up. He was holding her hand and that confused me a little but then I got excited. Did he find his mate and they were going to mate and become one?
“Hey Soma, baby girl,” Nick said kissing me on my cheek. “This is Emily, my mate, I wanted to tell you yesterday but you and Oliver had some other plans.” he smiled pulling Emily closer.
“Nice to meet you, Emily,” I said getting to my feet so I could hug her, she was a little awkward but she hugged me back.
“It’s nice to meet you as well Luna, forgive me for not being proper. My parents didn’t raise me very well to like Alpha Oliver, and since he never had a Luna,” she said but stopped talking because Nick pulled her closer.
“Don't worry I am not worried.” I giggled. “This is all new to me as well, and honestly if you call me Soma that would be awesome.” I smiled.
“Alright Soma, Luna,” she said forcing her eyes to the ground. I guess she was afraid of me and that made me sad, but I would ask Oliver about it later.
“Well I am going to take her home, her father still doesn’t agree to this, but at least she hasn't rejected me,” Nick said.
“And I don’t plan to reject you, I told my parents you are my mate and they can be replaced,” she said in defense of how she was acting.
“Well regardless let’s get you home, Soma I will catch up with you later okay,” he said pulling Emily away.
“That was kind of odd,” I said looking at Oliver.
“Well some of her family has been banned from our pack, and her father didn’t want her accepting Nick and demanded that she reject him, but I put a stop to it,” he said shaking his head. “I don’t like her parents they are Omegas and have done nothing but be problems. The only reason they are staying currently is that she is Nick’s mate. But if rejection happens they all get banished.”
“I see,” I said not knowing what to say. I didn’t like drama and it sucked that Oliver had to deal with that, and possibly kick a whole family out because of a few people but I understood it. It was the only way to keep the peace and keep the drama down.
“Ready to go inside and eat, the food is ready?” he asked standing up.
“Yes!”
