Chapter 72
Soma’s POV
After I was done eating, I decided to take a walk. I wanted to see how much room King Gideon was going to give me. He was right me being stuck in a room is too much for me right now. I don’t know how I am going to survive this, but I know I have to. Now that I know Oliver is alive, I know he was looking for me, and it wouldn't only be a matter of time.
“Going somewhere Princess?” a man stopped me as soon as I opened the door.
“Yeah, you’re Derek right?” I asked trying to be nice.
“Yes.” he mused. “Where do you want to go?”
“I just want to walk around the castle, the room is stuffy,” I complained. I wasn't sure if he was going to buy the lie.
“Fine, but only for a little while, I don’t want the King after me because I let you expire yourself too much,” he said rolling his eyes. “Any funny business I will make you suffer,” he warned.
We walked around in silence until we turned down one of the hallways, I wasn't sure where we were going but I was hoping back to my room. When we were far enough down the hallway, only a few people were standing around.
“Where are you taking me?” I growled, I was pissed that he could do this.
He grabbed me around the throat, pushing me into the wall. “I own you now,” he whispered. “King Gideon has no idea I am going to betray him.”
“I, I don’t care what you do to King Gideon, I just want to get out of here.”
“Oh sweet Princess you have to die, you have to see the end as bloody as possible,” he said squeezing my throat a little harder.
“I don’t know who you think you are,” I growled, trying to get out of his hold but I was weak.
“I’m going to take your virginity, oh yes I know you have been with a man,” he whispered in my ear, I could feel his dick poking through his jeans.
“Noo.” a whimper escaped me.
A booming growl startled Derek to let me go, he looked over and instantly cowered. “Sorry King.” he whimpered before leaving.
The man walked towards me, he look like he’d been hurt but healed, he stopped in front of me and reached out to touch me.
“Nathaniel!” King Gideon growled.
“He helped me. What happened to him?” I asked looking between the two of them.
“Nothing, he was punished.” King Gideon growled. “He knows his place, or so I thought. Didn’t I tell you to stay away?”
Nathaniel stood up like he was pissed off. I could tell something was about to happen. I didn’t want to see anyone fight, but I didn’t have anywhere to run. I was in between the wall and Nathaniel.
“You see Soma sometimes you have to put people down because they don’t listen and they don’t respect you.” King Gideon said walking closer to us.
I stood up, I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t want to see King Gideon punish Nathaniel, hurting his face was enough and it wasn't cool that he thought this was going to make him submit. This man was kind of like me, I couldn’t get it out of my head that Derek called Nathaniel King, and Nathaniel had this aura about him.
“You know what will happen if you do not stand down right?” King Gideon warned.
Nathaniel just growled at him, he then looked at me with sad eyes and walked away from me. I wasn't sure what just went down, but I was a little scared.
“Are you okay?” he said walking closer to me.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“This is why I don’t want you far from me, you are unmated and the soon to be Queen, everyone around you should protect you, but there is that one Lycan that will take the chance because they want your spot,” he said touching my waist, he pulled me closer. I didn’t fight him this time because he was scary too, he still had this glow about him. Something you don’t want to mess with, something that could turn deadly.
“I wanted to take a walk, there is nothing wrong with that,” I said pushing him away from me. “I know you think you’re protecting me by keeping me under lock and key, but it’s not going to work that way. I want to go outside.”
“No,” he growled. “I cannot take a chance for you to run off, vampire camps are coming soon and we have to be ready for them. I don’t even know if they are there yet.”
“So why don’t you go out and see,” I said rolling my eyes. I knew he wouldn't go out, but he would send someone out there to check on the lands.
“I cannot go out there, but I will send people out there to check out things.” he mused. “Are you scared?”
“Why would I be scared?” I snapped. “Just because you have me here as a prisoner doesn’t mean you scare me, even with that big bad aura you have,” I said snapping my eyes shut. I couldn’t believe I was speaking to him that way but I didn’t care he needed to know how I was feeling.
“You were scared before, what are you scared of Nathaniel over me?” he mused. “Or does he turn you on, I could help you with all of this.”
“We’re not mating,” I growled. “Please just take me back to my room.”
“Oh a request!” he beamed. “I will take you anywhere you want, just show me and I’ll pleasure you until dawn.”
I rolled my eyes, he sucks at this. “I wasn't talking about mating you, idiot!” I snapped at him.
“Come on Princess.” he giggled like this was all a joke to him, but I knew he was trying to get my permission, no one was going to touch me unless it was Oliver. I still had hope Oliver could find his way to me, I will leave it up to the Moon Goddess.
“Oh, Nick has to leave for a while.” King Gideon said.
“Why?”
“He has an adventure probably wants to find his mate now that his job is finished,” he said casually. “He asked me to go and I sent him away, I don’t know when he will be back, but I will keep you posted on what he’s up to.
“Good night Princess,” he said pushing my door open.
I was still confused why Nick would have to leave again, and again he didn’t say goodbye. I wanted to talk to him, so I will have to play nice with King Gideon for now.
I went to the window and looked out, I felt Oliver was closer than I expected. I wanted him to bust through the door and save me now, I’ve been here far too long now. I already wanted to kill King Gideon, but he was making it more likely to happen.
“I miss you, Oliver,” I said as tears ran down my cheeks. I didn’t know how or when I would see him again, but I wanted to hold him so much. My heartfelt emptiness without him around, I wanted to reach out and call out for him, something. But all I hear is silence.
The door opened and interrupted my thoughts, I didn’t bother to turn around.
“Tomorrow the vampires are coming, I expect you up in the morning.” King Gideon said walking into the room. “I think we should start this whole mating thing, so you can get to know me and I get to know you,” he said brushing his fingers across my shoulder.
“I don’t think that is a good idea though,” I said wiping my tears away. “I belong to another, and you kidnapped me.”
“Soma, I didn’t kidnap you, you need to learn about who you are. You are to be Queen and the Council saw that as a need to have you here instead of with the mutts, I mean werewolves.”
“I don’t care what you think, I am in love with another so even if you thought you had a chance there wouldn't be,” I said turning to face him. “Now please get out.”
“No,” he growled grabbing me around my neck pinning me to the wall. “I want to mate,” he growled.
“No,” I said calmly. “I will never willingly do anything with you.”
Someone else cleared their throat taking King Gideon’s attention off me. “What?” he growled.
“We have a guest,” he said looking only at Gideon. “Vampire King.”
“He’s early,” he said shrugging his shoulders. “I suggest you get to your office before he starts having a tantrum and kills everyone.”
“Come!” he growled grabbing on my wrist pulling me out of the room. I probably looked like a mess, but King Gideon didn’t care. We arrived at his office in no time. “Alright all you have to do is shut up and stand and look beautiful,” he said before pushing the door open.
“Vampire King.” he bowed.
