Chapter 75
Detective Marks POV
Watching the coffee shop was boring, ever since they took Soma back to London I haven't had any fun. I was bored and wanted to go back to London myself, but I knew the Vampire King was planning things and he told me to stay here and keep tabs on the werewolves and Nick. Seeing Nick walk into the coffee shop, he was going to try and do something. I didn’t need him giving Oliver any information I needed to stop it. But going into the coffee shop was a bad idea, I didn’t know how many werewolves were there, and I didn’t want to take a chance of getting myself killed because the werewolves lost their Luna.
I stayed in my car, I was able to see Nick talking to someone, but I don’t think it was the Stone brothers because Nick was told to sit down and wait. So Oliver wasn't at the coffee shop, either he was planning something stupid or sulking because he didn’t get to have his mate after all. It was awesome that he lost the only thing he would care about.
My phone rang and I answered it.
“Vampire King?” I mused. “How is everything?”
“Good we’re about to take the girl from the Lycan’s, how are the mutts?”
“I don’t know, I haven't seen Oliver, last I heard he was stuck on his lands. Either this has messed him and his wolf up, or he is planning something crazy.” I said leaning back in my car. “Why is Nick the Lycan here in the states?”
“There’s a Lycan there?”
“Yeah he arrived I’m assuming last night, he’s at the coffee shop now,” I said looking at Nick. “But he doesn’t seem to be getting what he wants, and I am not sure the mutts are going to want anything to do with him.”
“Follow him, arrest him do whatever you have to do to ensure he doesn’t get to the mutts. I don’t need werewolves here too when I do this,” he growled. “Please don’t mess this one up, this war is important and I don’t need the girl accidentally killed.”
“Alright,” I said before getting off the phone with him.
I would pull him over when he was far enough away from people, I wanted to find out where he was heading too. Just in case it was to Oliver, I want to find out where this man kept himself safe when he wasn't in the human world. I had never seen Oliver’s pack lands up close, just from the one road when I followed them home, but I didn’t remember the way, so this was going to be quite a refresher.
When he pulled onto the dirt road, I felt this was the best time to pull him over and take him in. I knew the vampire king was going to be happy when he found out that I have the Lycan. I would take him to one of the hideouts and wait for word to bring him to London. I wanted the vampire King to know I was a strong vampire, he just put me in the worst possible place in the world.
I wondered if he knew I was following him, if he didn’t there would be a rude awakening for him, and it was something I was looking for. I smiled when I flipped the switch to turn on the lights, he pulled over without question.
I grabbed the syringe full of blood bane and then got out of the car. I casually walked over to his window, when he saw it was me, he was pissed I was happy.
“What do you want Detective Marks?” I
“I came to make sure you are not trying to start things,” I growled. “I need you to get out of the car so we can talk about this.” I watched as his body language was worried, I didn’t care I was told to do something and she wasn't going to stop anything we were planning.
“We don’t have anything to talk about vampires,” he growled at me, it was a little funny because I wasn't scared of him I wanted to fight him. It would be fun to see his Lycan in action. I have never fought a Lycan, I wondered how they fought. “Now if you don’t mind I have things I need to do.”
I growled at him, throwing the door open and forcing him out of the car. He knew this was going to be a fight, I could tell he wasn't letting his Lycan come out. I wanted it to come out, but whatever I’ll take him as a human too.
“Look I don’t want to do this,” he growled stumbling around with me.
“I don’t care what you want,” I growled throwing him into the car. “I need to ensure you are not going to get in the middle of this, we have plans for the girl and the mutts,” he growled trying to handcuff me.
“No.” I felt a shift in him, this must be his Lycan coming out. Nice.
“Vampire King wants you silenced,” I said pulling out the blood bane, I needed him calm and relaxed but I still wanted him to fight me on this. Every time he hits me I’ll get to beat him until he’s almost dead, something I was looking forward to.
“No!” he growled.
I was stronger than him, I was able to inject him with the blood bane, I felt his Lycan slowly go away and the human come back. He was becoming powerless, I decided to let him fall to the ground and see what happens. I knew he wasn't going to be able to fight anymore once the stuff was in his system fully, but when he woke up I expect him to fight me like crazy. Something I was looking forward to.
“I know you want Oliver to know things, but he’s not getting the girl back,” I said in between kicking him.
“You are not going to win,” he growled trying to fight me. “She will kill your master too, she isn't someone to mess with.”
“But yet she was this weak little girl when I did get to mess with her,” I said kneeling, I pulled him to his feet and forced him to walk.
“When I see her again, I will give her the vampire pleasure she wants. You do realize the vampire King is going to make her a high bred?” I mused, but he was far too out of it to hear anything I said. “Time to go Lycan boy,” he said before he lost consciousness.
Pushing him into the car, I knew one of the things I had to do was out of the way. I couldn’t wait to get back to the hideout and show the other vampires we have a Lycan we can mess around with. I knew we would make it a fun game until he was dead. Whether he died by me, or another it didn’t matter. I just hoped the vampire King didn’t get too mad at us for having too much fun.
“Let the boy go!” someone growled.
I turned to face the voice, it was none other than Oliver himself. I smiled big when I saw him. “Sorry, he is wanted,” I said opening the car door so I could leave.
“No, he’s not leaving my lands with you,” he warned. “I will give you one chance to release him before I kill you,” he said taking a few steps towards me.
“I cannot let a criminal go, you will have to understand you can talk to him when he is released in a few hours, please step back.”
“No,” he said as three others stepped out of the woods. I knew I was outnumbered and would die if I didn’t do as he asked. I could get into the car and hope to get out of there before he ripped the car apart.
“I can’t Oliver, and I will arrest you too if you interfere with this,” I warned.
“I am not afraid to die,” he said taking another step towards me. I could tell his werewolf was present as he had this aura about him, I was a little worried about myself now. I could just give him the boy, but I had a feeling I wasn't going to get out of this alive anyway. “You’re going to attack me, you and all your beasts when I give you what you want.”
“You won't know until you’ve given him to me,” Oliver growled looking past me, now there were even more wolves all around me. I couldn’t take all of them before I died. I wasn't sure what my fate was going to be now that I was surrounded.
“Last chance vampire let him go and leave alive, or die by werewolves and we still get the boy,” he growled at me.
“Fine!” I growled opening the back door to my car pulling the unconscious boy out and pushing him towards Oliver, Oliver took him from me.
“Now get out of here before I change my mind,” he growled as he looked down at the boy.
