Chapter 102

Vampire King’s POV

Watching everything go down in slow motion was inviting. When I found out Roman had Nathaniel’s mate, I could see it was beginning to bring out his Lycan. I didn’t want to see Nathaniel hurt but if they killed each other I would just move my Clan into this castle and force the other Lycans to bow down to me, and show me the respect the vampires had lacked all these years.

Lost in my thoughts I didn’t see Oliver lunge at Roman, I stood there and watch everything unfold. It was amazing that Oliver was able to fight through the drugs they were weak against, but it was also good that he was going to kill Roman.

I thought Roman was a good Lycan but clearly, he wanted more power than King Gideon had. He wanted the same things he did, and he was just like King Gideon. So it was something I knew would be a good ending if Oliver hurt him or killed him at least.

“Finally!” Roman growled at Oliver. “I was beginning to think I would have to beat your mate to death to get you to react,” he said spitting out blood.

“Oh, I plan to make your death slow!” Oliver growled as his claws came out.

“You think you can kill a Lycan?” he scoffed. “You only killed Gideon because he was drugged and couldn’t fight, but with me, I am better and stronger than he ever was,” he growled.

“Yeah, we’ll see about that!” Oliver growled shifting almost fully but I could still see he was human. I moved away from them because I didn’t want to die. I knew I would have to answer Oliver about what I did, but I didn’t want him attacking me since I was bringing him to his mate.

The growled and fighting were starting to become entertaining. It actually would be a good idea to bring in a fighting thing with the Lycans and werewolves. I think it would entertain the humans, hell it might even make it easier to control the humans. Since they loved violence so much, I figured I would bring this up with Nathaniel if everything goes well.

Looking at Soma she wasn't moving, it kind of worried me but I could tell she was breathing. Her blood was intoxicating, I wanted to go over there and bite her now. I knew I could do it and get away with it because everyone was focused on the fighting that was happening.

Glancing around, the two Lycans near Soma seemed like they were told to guard her, I had to get rid of them first, and then I could make my move. Moving closer to her, the two Lycans shifted their attention to me.

“I wouldn't vampire King, we are told to protect her, and we don’t want to die by your hand but we are willing.”

“Oh is that right?” I mused. “So why don’t you move away from her, and spare your lives and let me do what I came here to do,” I warned.

“Sorry Roman has plans for her, and we don’t want anything to happen to her.” the other spoke, he took a step towards me. I took that as a challenge, I lunged at him and bit him hard. I knew he would die from the venom of a vampire, that is why we tried not to bite unless we had to. We were poisonous and it was a good thing for us.

“You, you bit me!” he growled grabbing his neck.

“Well, I did warn you.” I mused. “Now what about you?” I said looking at the other one who was backing off. I knew he was too afraid to die and that made everything so much easier.

Walking closer to Soma, I was losing control of my thirst. I knew I had to be careful with her because she was special. I was a little afraid of biting her, I didn’t want to kill her. But since no one knew how to get her Lycan to come out, I guess I was taking a chance doing this.

“Soma are you alive?” I said picking her head up, her eyes were closed but she was breathing. “Come on open your eyes, I want to explain to you what I am going to do,” I said moving her hair away from her neck, but her eyes remained closed.

“Don't do it, vampire!” Nick growled at me.

“It’s the only way we will be sure this isn't going to work,” I said unchaining her hands. “I know you think you know the way, but you don’t young Lycan,” I said looking at him.

“You’re going to kill her and things will not be good for anyone,” Nick said shaking his head. “Please let her father and mother deal with this. They are the only ones that know how to break this.”

“They aren't going to break it, and we are going to suffer for it. More and more people are going to come after her, don’t you want her to be able to protect her.”

“She has Oliver and me to protect her. Don’t you think her parents did this to protect her?” he growled taking a few steps closer to us. I knew he would try and stop me from doing what I knew needed to be done. I knew he was going to go crazy when he realizes that I was right and this was the only way to bring her to the surface.

“You think you can protect her from the armies that are going to come for her?” I laughed. Looking down at the defenseless girl I knew she was mine. I knew she would understand the reasoning behind what I had to do. Nick her friend won't, her mate won't but they would at least know her wolf is out and can protect her.

“We have been doing a good job before all of this happened,” Nick growled. “I know you think you can do better making her a hybrid, but how do you know this is even going to work.”

Before I could answer I heard a crashing sound, I knew I was running out of time. I knew Oliver was going to kill Roman and he would come at me if he saw that I had Soma.

“You only protected her because we didn’t come for her, but now that we have her she is going to become a great ally to us.” I snapped at him before looking down. I knew the time was now, I knew this young Lycan wouldn't be able to stop me from biting her.

“You didn’t even know about her until King Gideon came to the Council and complained about her,” he growled. “I remember that day all too well, you wanted to know more about her. You took King Gideon for drinks and got him to tell you everything about her.”

“Quiet son,” I snapped. “I don’t want to kill you but if I have to I will. I know you’re her friend but you are beginning to piss me off, and with her blood all over me, I am beginning to lose control.” I warned but it didn’t seem to do anything as he attacked me throwing me against the wall. Now his death was on his hands, and I wouldn't be able to control myself with him now.

I grabbed Nick by the throat and tossed him aside, he was up and on me again. He wanted to show me he wasn't afraid of me, and that was fine. I wouldn't kill him just because I liked the boy, but I would make sure he knew just who he was messing with. I glanced at Soma, she was still unconscious so I had a little time to play with Nick and then I would mark her before the fighting ended.

Throwing Nick around was entertaining, but my thirst was starting to get to me. I needed to finish what I came here and started. I knew everything would work out and they wouldn't kill me because Nathaniel knows me. He knows that I wouldn't hurt his daughter but I wanted her to see her wolf and we needed her to make sure things went well.

Throwing him one last time, he didn’t get up. I knew he was done, I walked over to Soma and picked her up.

“Don't do it!” Oliver growled.

I didn’t wait for him to try and attack me, I bit down on her neck and tasted her pure blood. It was the most inviting taste I’d ever had. I know I had to stop but I didn’t want to, and Oliver ensured I stopped by forcing us apart.

I could tell Oliver was in control thankfully, he didn’t kill me. I smashed into the wall but that was it. “I am sorry Oliver, we need to wake Seff up, there is a war coming and you and your pack are going to need her.”

“Don't start,” he growled picking her up, the wound on her neck healed so that was a good thing, her back was still bloody and it wasn't healing, but now we just had to wait until she opened her eyes. I hoped this would work, it would be good for everyone. Soma would be freed from the curse and she would be able to be Oliver’s mate like she should have been.
