Chapter 171

"Who are you talking about?" Michael asked, his voice calm but with a hint of worry.

Mandy grinned and said, "Just a college classmate. She probably doesn't even remember me. Anyway, Michael, let's drop it. Let's head to the psych department."

Michael gave a slight nod in agreement.

Meanwhile, after hanging up with Mandy, Gregory quickly called the obstetrics and gynecology department. "The woman we talked about last time is there now. Make sure you don't slip up."

"Got it," came the reply from the other end.

Gregory hung up the phone.

Outside the OB-GYN clinic at a fancy private hospital, Rachel, with John by her side, came to a stop.

"John, wait for me out here," Rachel said, turning to him.

"I should go in with you. I don't feel right leaving you alone," John said, looking worried.

Rachel shook her head firmly. "No, I can handle it."

Seeing her determination, John nodded reluctantly. "Alright, but if you need anything, just call me, and I'll be right there."

"Okay." Rachel smiled and walked into the clinic.

The doctor inside put down his stethoscope and, seeing her, his eyes flickered. "Ms. Williams, we meet again."

Rachel sat down, a bit surprised. "You remember me?"

"Of course, you came to see me last time. I have a good memory," the doctor smiled.

Rachel forced a smile. "I see."

"Ms. Williams, are you here because there's a problem with the baby?" the doctor asked, looking concerned as he took the registration form.

Rachel shook her head. "No, I'm here to terminate the pregnancy."

The doctor looked shocked. "Terminate the pregnancy?"

Rachel nodded. "Yes."

The doctor's expression turned serious. "Are you sure?"

"Absolutely," Rachel said firmly.

The doctor was silent for a moment, thinking he might need to persuade her, but she seemed resolute.

"Since you've made up your mind, we can schedule the procedure. When do you want to do it? We need to prepare," the doctor asked, glancing at her belly.

Rachel clutched her belly, deep in thought, and didn't answer for a while. The doctor noticed her hesitation and advised, "Ms. Williams, the longer you wait, the harder it is for both you and the baby. It's better to decide soon."

"Then as soon as possible," Rachel said, taking a deep breath, her voice hoarse. Despite her reluctance, she signed the consent form for the abortion.

The doctor watched her sign and let out a long sigh of relief, a reassuring smile spreading across his face. "Ms. Williams, the system shows that several pregnant women have already scheduled surgeries in the next two days. Your surgery is set for the afternoon two days from now."

Rachel nodded. "Got it. I'll be back in two days."

"Alright," the doctor replied.

Rachel walked out of the clinic, and John immediately took her hand. "Rachel, when's the surgery?"

"In two days," Rachel said simply.

John stroked his chin. "Two days is good. It gives you some time to get your head around it. Let's head home."

"Okay." Rachel checked the time.

They walked towards the elevator. The doctor watched them leave from the doorway, then closed the door and returned to his desk to call Gregory.

"How did it go?" Gregory asked directly.

"The task is done. She signed the consent form for the abortion," the doctor replied. "The surgery is scheduled for the afternoon two days from now."

Gregory adjusted his posture. "Got it." After hanging up, he dialed Mandy's number.

At that moment, Mandy was sitting on the sofa in the psychology consultation room. Although the psychologist hadn't arrived yet, she felt anxious.

Even though Gregory reassured her, she still feared that Michael would uncover the truth. If he found out she was pretending to be crazy just to deal with Rachel, he would definitely leave her.

Sensing Mandy's tension, Michael asked with concern, "Mandy, you okay?"

Mandy's face was pale, but she forced a smile. "I'm fine, just not used to seeing a psychologist for the first time."

"Don't worry, I'll be with you the whole time." Michael gently stroked her hair.

"Michael, you're so good," Mandy responded softly, but her heart was in turmoil.

At that moment, Gregory called. She stood up and said, "Michael, my mom is calling. I'll take it outside."

"Go ahead." Michael nodded.

Mandy went outside to answer the call. "Gregory, did it work?"

"It worked, but the surgery is in two days," Gregory said.

Mandy said excitedly, "Great, two days is fine. I've waited this long, two more days won't matter. Gregory, make sure she doesn't make it through the surgery."

"Don't worry, I'll handle everything," Gregory interrupted her.

Mandy trusted him completely because she knew he would do anything for her. He believed she was his savior, though she didn't know why.

"Alright, thank you, Gregory," Mandy said gratefully.

After chatting for a few more minutes, they ended the call. Mandy put away her phone, confirmed no one was around, and returned to the consultation room.

As soon as she entered, she noticed a foreign psychologist in a white coat had arrived. Mandy's heart tightened, realizing this was the psychologist Michael had found for her.
