Chapter 201

John, who was munching on an apple nearby, saw this and put it down, asking, "Rachel, what's wrong?"

"Look at this." Rachel handed over her phone.

John took the phone and read aloud, "I will make Mandy pay soon, Gregory."

John's eyes widened as he looked at her. "Rachel, is this a message from Gregory? How did he get your phone number?"

"Getting my number isn't hard. He just needs to look it up." Rachel said calmly, but her brows were still furrowed tightly. "But what I'm more concerned about is the content of his message. He said he would make Mandy pay. Could it be that what he said in the hospital room was true, that he really wants to go after the person who hurt me?"

John smirked. "Who cares if it's true or not? If he really goes after Mandy, it would be beneficial for us."

"That's true." Rachel nodded.

John handed the phone back to her. "Don't reply to this message. If it's just a test, replying might give him a chance to mess with us. Don't forget, it's still uncertain whether he will go after Mandy."

"Okay, I got it." Rachel said, then deleted the message.

John continued munching on his apple. "By the way, I already donated that ring for you."

Rachel's eyes flickered slightly, but she nodded. "Okay."

"Then I'll be off. I'll come to pick you up on the day of the auction." John threw away the apple core and brushed his hands off.

Rachel smiled. "Got it; go ahead."

"Bye-bye." John waved and walked towards the door.

Rachel was left alone in the office. She took a pen from the pen holder and started handling some documents.

At this moment, Ella knocked and came in, looking anxious. "Ms. Williams."

"What's wrong?" Rachel stopped writing and looked at her.

Ella looked around and saw a cup of water on the table. She picked it up and took a sip.

Rachel was about to remind her that she had drunk from that cup, but hearing Ella gulping down the water, she could only shake her head helplessly. "Why are you so thirsty?"

"I ran all the way up here." Ella put down the cup and sighed.

Rachel's eyes widened. "You mean you ran all the way from the finance department?"

"Yeah, I took the emergency stairs. The elevator was going down, and I had something urgent to tell you, so I just ran up." Ella said, sitting down on a chair.

Seeing the sweat on her forehead, Rachel handed her a tissue with a smile. "Wipe it off."

"Thank you." Ella took the tissue.

Rachel got up to pour her a fresh cup of water and then asked, "You mentioned something urgent, what is it?"

"It's about the loan from Skyline Corporation." Ella threw away the used tissue and said seriously, "Ms. Williams, who is Leroy Hamilton? He actually helped us pay off all the bank loans. When the bank notified me, I couldn't believe it."

Rachel looked puzzled. "Wait, what are you talking about? Who is he? How were the loans paid off?"

Seeing her reaction, Ella blinked. "Ms. Williams, you don't know Mr. Hamilton?"

Rachel shook her head. "Never heard of him."

"That's strange. If you don't know him, why would he help you pay off the loans? The repayment note says he's an acquaintance. Could he be a secret admirer?" Ella looked envious. "With such a grand gesture, Ms. Williams, maybe you should consider him."

"Stop talking nonsense." Rachel frowned. "Ella, are you saying that Mr. Hamilton paid off all our loans?"

"Yes, from now on, Skyline Corporation has no debt. All the money we earn will be ours, not the bank's." Ella said happily.

But Rachel wasn't happy at all. "Is there any repayment information?"

Ella slapped her forehead. "Yes, I forgot. I'll get it for you."

Ella took a stack of repayment information from her folder and handed it to Rachel.

Rachel took it but didn't look at it immediately. She asked, "You haven't announced this yet, have you?"

"No, you're the first to know." Ella shook her head.

Rachel sighed in relief. "Good, go back to the finance department. Keep this confidential for now until I figure out who's behind this."

"Okay." Ella responded and left.

Rachel then started to look through the documents, hoping to find some clues. Soon, she found a familiar symbol: ZH.

She immediately picked up her phone and called ZH on Facebook.

In the conference room of Smith Corporation, Michael was in a meeting when his phone rang.

Michael squinted in displeasure. "Whose phone is ringing?"

No one responded.

Michael's face grew darker. "I said before, phones must be on silent during meetings. Did you forget?"

Finally, someone raised their hand. "Mr. Smith, it's your phone that's ringing."

Michael was slightly stunned. "Mine?"

The person nodded.

Michael wheeled himself to the conference table and found that it was indeed his phone ringing. He picked it up and saw that it was Rachel calling.

"Meeting adjourned, I need to take this call." Michael took his phone and left the conference room.

The conference room buzzed with chatter. "The boss has double standards. He can take calls, but we can't."

"He must be contacting Miss Brown."

In the hallway, Michael hesitated for a moment before eventually swiping to answer. "Hello?" he said.
