Chapter 185

Rachel touched her belly, a gentle smile appearing on her face.

Michael saw this scene, and his eyes deepened. She seemed to not dislike the child in her belly as much anymore. But why?

"Mom!" Michael's thoughts were interrupted by Kade.

Kade tugged on Rachel's arm and complained again, "Dad bullied me."

Rachel snapped back to reality and looked at Kade. "How did Dad bully you?"

She almost let something slip but quickly corrected herself.

"Dad pinched my face." Kade pointed to his face, his eyes glancing triumphantly at Michael, whose face darkened.

"Let me see." Rachel didn't notice the confrontation between Michael and Kade and looked down seriously at Kade's face.

Seeing the red mark on Kade's face, Rachel frowned. "Michael, Kade is still young. Why did you use so much force?"

While scolding Michael, she lovingly pulled Kade into her arms.

Kade looked smug and even provocatively lifted his chin at Michael, whose lips pressed into a tight line in anger. He thought, 'This Kade is really annoying! And Rachel, she actually questioned him for Kade's sake. Does she really see herself as this child's mother?'

"You have a really close family." The lady next to them spoke again.

Rachel was taken aback. "Close?"

How did they see that?

Michael was also curious.

The lady smiled and said, "In most families, sons and fathers often don't get along, and then the son will go to the mother to complain, and the mother will scold the father, just like you did just now. It looks like an argument, but actually, it shows a good relationship."

"So that's how it is." Rachel's mouth twitched.

She just couldn't stand Michael bullying a child, but she didn't expect it to be seen as a sign of family harmony.

Michael glanced at the amused Rachel, his mood suddenly improving, and he replied softly, "Thank you for the compliment."

"Oh, it's nothing, I was just saying. No need to thank me." She quickly waved her hand.

At this moment, the host manager walked over. "Attention all parents and kids, the game is about to start! Please take your seats according to the numbers." He said this while pointing to a row of numbered sofas not far away.

Rachel looked down at the number five on her waist and understood that they needed to sit according to the numbers. Michael also had a number on his waist, and he clearly understood this too. He said to Rachel and Kade, "Let's go."

Rachel responded and was about to take Kade's hand.

But Michael suddenly picked up Kade and let him sit on his left arm.

Rachel was surprised.

Michael looked at her. "What's wrong?"

"Don't you have a cleanliness obsession?" Rachel asked in surprise, seeing Kade's shoes leaving a bit of dirt on his suit.

Hearing this, Michael curled his lips and retorted, "You still remember I have a cleanliness obsession?" He thought she had forgotten after the divorce.

Rachel's red lips pressed together, her tone much calmer, "Of course I remember, I didn't lose my memory."

Not loving him didn't erase her understanding of him.

Hearing that she hadn't forgotten, Michael felt a bit happy. Then, he extended his hand to Rachel.

Rachel looked at his hand suspiciously. "What for?"

"Other parents are holding hands." Michael reminded.

Rachel looked at the other families and saw that it was indeed the case.

"We don't need to follow them." Rachel withdrew her gaze and said lightly.

Michael pressed his thin lips together, clenched his hand, and then withdrew it, his voice low, "Alright."

Rachel sensed his displeasure and raised an eyebrow, not understanding what he was angry about. She thought, 'Getting angry over not holding hands? What a joke!'

Rachel shook her head, put it out of her mind, and sat down on the sofa marked number five. Kade and Michael sat on either side of her.

The manager saw that the five families were seated and had the waiter bring out the playing cards.

Rachel had Kade pucker his lips and stick the playing card on them, making sure it wouldn't fall before letting go.

"Just like that, Kade. Don't move, or the card will fall." Rachel gently instructed.

Kade blinked, indicating he would definitely behave.

Next to them, Michael watched the interaction between Rachel and Kade, his eyes deep.

If this were their own child, would she be even more gentle?

"Alright, now that the cards are in place, the game begins. Complete the transfer within a minute, and the top three families will advance. Start!" The manager announced.

As his words fell, the five families began to move.

Kade turned to Rachel, who lowered her head and pressed her lips to the playing card, but didn't immediately pass it to Michael.

This was an indirect kiss, even if it wasn't real, it was still a bit awkward.

Michael saw her hesitation and said calmly, "Hurry up, or we'll be last!"

Hearing this, Rachel quickly reacted and turned to pass the card to him.

Due to the quick turn, the card on her lips loosened a bit.

Rachel felt the card was about to fall and was about to raise her hand to hold it, but Michael had already leaned in. Just as his lips touched the card, it suddenly fell. With nothing in the way, Michael's lips landed directly on Rachel's. Both were stunned, and Kade's eyes widened as he covered his mouth.

The surrounding guests and the manager were also shocked by this scene.

The manager broke the awkwardness with a smile. "It seems player number five's parents seem to have a great relationship and aren't shy about showing it. Let's give them a round of applause!"

After speaking, the manager led the applause. Then, the restaurant filled with laughter and clapping.

Rachel's face turned red as she pushed Michael away, wishing she could vanish on the spot. So embarrassing!

But Michael was quite calm. Although he hadn't expected this, he didn't dislike the contact.

"Time's not up yet; let's continue, or we'll be out." Michael picked up the card on his leg and saw a red lip print on it, then stuck that side back on his lips.

Hearing "out," Rachel couldn't care about the embarrassment and quickly let go of her face.
