Chapter 172

Sure enough, when Michael saw Mandy come back, he waved her over. "Mandy, come here. I want you to meet Dr. Rogers, a big shot in psychology."

Mandy forced a smile and walked over, her steps a bit stiff.

Harold looked at her, extended his hand, and said, "Hello, Miss Brown. Dr. Perez has told me about you. Don't worry, I'll do my best to help." He gave her a quick wink.

Mandy instantly got the hint—Harold was clearly set up by Gregory and was on her side. His message was clear: no matter what, he'd back her up with a certificate saying she had mental issues.

Feeling more at ease, Mandy shook Harold's hand. "Thanks a lot."

"You're welcome. Please, have a seat." Harold gestured for her to sit down.

Michael stood up and pulled out a chair for Mandy, who smiled at him before sitting down.

Harold sat across from them. "Mr. Smith, Miss Brown, let's get started."

Mandy nodded.

"Alright." Harold adjusted his glasses and pulled out a pocket watch from his coat. "Miss Brown, I'm going to hypnotize you to try to bring out your second personality. Don't worry, it's totally safe."

Mandy nodded and clung to Michael's sleeve, looking scared. "Michael, can you stay with me?" Her eyes were full of vulnerability, making her look really pitiful.

Michael's heart softened, and he gently squeezed her hand. "Of course."

Then, Harold began the hypnosis. Mandy closed her eyes, like she was really drifting into a dream.

When Harold finished, Mandy lay quietly on the sofa.

Michael glanced at the still Mandy, looking a bit worried. "Dr. Rogers, will this hypnosis affect Mandy?"

"Relax, Mr. Smith, it's just a harmless, temporary process. She'll wake up soon, but she might act a bit differently."

Michael frowned, thinking it over. He knew what that meant. At that moment, Harold lightly tapped Mandy's ear, and she suddenly opened her eyes and sat up straight.

Michael looked at her uncertainly. "Mandy?"

"Mr. Smith, I am Tina." Mandy's face twisted into a sinister smile that sent chills down his spine, and her voice turned incredibly seductive. "That's my new name."

Michael fell silent for a moment, taking in the scene before him.

Mandy stood up and walked over to Michael. "Mr. Smith, we finally meet."

Michael took a step back, still not saying a word. He felt a strong aversion to this new personality, not just because of her extreme behavior, but also due to some gut-level instinct.

Mandy caught the fleeting look of disdain in Michael's eyes, and her sinister smile faltered for a moment. She secretly gritted her teeth.

She realized that this was her true self. The sweet and virtuous act she always put on was just a mask. But she didn't expect Michael to be so disgusted by her real personality!

Suppressing her inner anger, Mandy forced the sinister smile back on. "Mr. Smith, it really hurts when you look at me like that."

"Why do you always go after Rachel?" Michael ignored her act and coldly questioned.

Mandy got even angrier. Could it be that he cared about Rachel more than her?

"Because I hate her," Mandy sneered.

"Is that the only reason?" Michael asked, frowning.

"Of course not." Mandy twirled a strand of hair around her finger. "As long as she's around, Mandy won't feel secure. I need to get rid of Rachel to protect Mandy."

Michael's face darkened. "But your methods are too extreme! You even want to kill her!"

"What's the problem with that? Once Rachel is dead, no one will make Mandy feel uneasy anymore. It's much more convenient this way." Mandy shrugged.

"Dr. Rogers, bring her back to normal." Michael clenched his fist and coldly ordered. He really didn't want to see this side of Mandy. Her malice was beyond anything he had imagined.

"Alright, Mr. Smith." Harold stepped forward and gestured, and Mandy knowingly closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

"Is there a way to permanently get rid of this side of her?" Michael asked.

Originally, he had hoped to integrate both sides, but her recent behavior made him completely abandon that idea. If they were truly integrated, it could potentially make things worse.

Harold glanced at Mandy and said, "Theoretically, it's possible, but it would take a long time to fully get rid of it."

"Alright, do your best to treat her." Michael rubbed his temples.

Soon, Mandy 'woke up'. She looked around in confusion and asked Michael, "What happened to me just now?"

"You were just hypnotized to bring out another personality," Michael gently held her hand and explained.

Mandy patted her forehead, pretending to remember something. "So, did my other personality come out?"
