Chapter 187

Rachel ignored Michael and continued to stare at the father of Family No. 3. She just wanted to see how long he could hold out.

Seeing this, Michael's face grew even darker, and a cold aura seemed to emanate from him.

No matter how the father of Family No. 3 looked, in terms of physique or demeanor, how could he compare to Michael? Yet she was so focused on staring at him. Although Michael knew she wasn't interested in the father of Family No. 3, he still felt particularly irritated.

"Get down!" When Kade counted to twenty, Michael stopped and coldly said to Rachel on his back.

Rachel didn't know what had gotten into him again and stood up with her feet on the ground.

Michael also stood up. After doing twenty push-ups in a row, his handsome face showed no sign of fatigue, not even a drop of sweat. It was clear that this was no challenge for him.

The fathers of Families No. 1 and No. 3 were extremely envious when they saw this. Michael had already finished and was resting, while they still had to continue suffering.

Rachel couldn't help but laugh at the distressed looks on the faces of the fathers from Families No. 1 and No. 3.

Suddenly, the water bottle in her hand was snatched away. Rachel turned her head to see Michael drinking from it, his head tilted back. She was stunned.

Sensing her gaze, Michael put down the bottle. "What's wrong?"

Rachel looked at the bottle. "That's my water."

"You haven't drunk from it." Michael calmly screwed the cap back on and said indifferently.

Rachel was speechless. "Even if I haven't drunk from it, you didn't have to snatch it. There are plenty of other bottles over there. Can't you get one yourself?"

"Too tired, can't be bothered," Michael said, placing the bottle aside.

Rachel's mouth twitched, utterly speechless. She didn't see any sign of fatigue on his face. But whatever, it was just a bottle of water.

Rachel huffed and turned to get another bottle of water.

Michael watched her frustrated expression, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes, and his mood instantly improved. He did it on purpose to stop her from staring at other men.

"Michael." At this moment, Kade's childish voice came from below.

Michael looked down and saw Kade's curious face. "What is it?" he asked.

Kade put his hands on his hips. "Are you trying to steal my uncle's girlfriend?"

Michael raised an eyebrow. "No, why would you say that?"

"Because the way you look at Rachel is the same way my dad looks at my mom." Kade replied.

Michael pressed his lips together, thinking, 'What kind of excuse is that? Just because we look alike, it means I'm taking her? Besides, I haven't even noticed any special look in my eyes.'

"Alright, kids shouldn't talk nonsense. She's my ex-wife. We divorced. Do you think I still need to steal her?" Michael said, putting his hands in his pockets.

Kade huffed. "So what if you're divorced? My aunt and her husband divorced, and her husband still wants to win her back. So you definitely will too. No, I have to warn my uncle. He can't be friends with you." Kade frowned, looking serious like an adult.

Michael squinted his eyes, about to say something when Rachel returned, her gaze sweeping over Michael and Kade. "What are you two talking about?"

"We were talking about..."

Before Kade could finish, Michael picked him up and covered his mouth.

"Nothing, let's go. They're done too, and the third round of the game is about to start." Michael glanced at Rachel and walked forward with Kade in his arms.

Rachel stood there with the water bottle, looking confused, completely unaware of what had just happened.

"Michael!" In front of Rachel, Kade broke free from Michael's hand and looked at him angrily. "Why didn't you let me finish?"

Michael looked down at him. "Those words are not suitable for children."

"I'm not an ordinary child. I..."

"From now on, don't call Rachel your uncle's girlfriend." Michael interrupted Kade, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Kade blinked. "Why?"

"Because they are not together, understand?" Michael stared at him.

At first, he really thought Rachel and Joseph were together, coming here for a date. But later, he figured it out. Rachel didn't like Joseph, so how could they be together? But he still didn't know why they brought Kade here.

"Even if they are not together now, they will be in the future. I like her a lot, and I will help my uncle win her over soon." Kade said proudly, lifting his chin.

Michael's expression darkened, almost as if he wanted to throw Kade out. But in the end, he restrained himself, though the atmosphere around him became so tense that no one dared to approach.

Soon, the third round of the game began: a three-legged obstacle race.

This time, the competition was held in the backyard of the restaurant, where a spacious area had been marked with lanes and obstacles. The manager walked up to Rachel and Michael with two red ropes.

Michael took the ropes and suddenly spoke, "Can we change the race from running to walking?"

"Sir, is there a special reason?" The manager asked with a smile.

Rachel looked at Michael, curious.

Michael's gaze fell on her belly. "My wife is pregnant. Running is risky for her."

Upon hearing this, Rachel's eyes widened in shock. "You..."

Michael subtly pulled her arm, signaling her to stay silent. Rachel quickly composed herself, suppressing her shock and swallowing her words.

The manager didn't notice their subtle interaction and suddenly realized, saying, "Congratulations to both of you!"

"Thank you," Michael replied.

The manager nodded. "Since the lady is pregnant, walking is more suitable. The time will be increased to five minutes. How about that?"

"That's fine," Michael agreed.

The manager walked away with the remaining red ropes. In the previous round, the father of Family No. 3 had been exhausted and lost to Family No. 1, so the final round was between Rachel from Family No. 5 and Family No. 1.

After the manager left, Rachel clenched her fists and finally voiced the question that had been weighing on her heart. "How did you know I was pregnant?"

She had only told John and Joseph, not even Robert.

Michael lowered his eyes, concealing the strange look in them. "Joseph mentioned it accidentally."

"I see," Rachel pouted. "That blabbermouth Joseph, he really tells you everything."

Michael didn't respond, looking elsewhere.

Rachel didn't notice his guilt and rubbed her temples. "But still, thank you for considering me."

"It's nothing," Michael said indifferently. Then, he clenched his fist and suddenly asked, "Are you really not planning to keep this child?"

Rachel frowned. "Joseph told you even that?"

"Yes," Michael nodded.

"That idiot Joseph," Rachel muttered angrily, then replied, "That's right, I'm not planning to keep it."
