Chapter 181
Rachel didn't think much of it and just nodded. The Ferris wheel started turning slowly. Rachel watched Kade wave at her from the rising cabin and couldn't help but smile. She waved back.
Joseph saw this, put down his coffee, and was about to wave too. But Kade, as if he knew what was coming, turned around and showed Joseph his backside before he could wave.
Joseph was stunned, while Rachel burst out laughing.
Joseph rubbed his forehead. "Kade, you did that on purpose, didn't you?"
"Kade is so cute," Rachel said, wiping away tears of laughter as she looked at Kade.
Joseph smiled. "As long as you like it."
"What?" Rachel looked at him curiously, not getting his meaning.
He waved his hand. "It's nothing."
Rachel blinked. "You're acting weird today, talking all cryptic."
"Really?" Joseph scratched the back of his head and laughed awkwardly.
Rachel took a sip of coffee. "Alright, if you don't want to say, I won't push. You mentioned on the phone you had an idea about Grace. What is it?"
Joseph's expression turned serious. "Actually, the idea is to find someone to impersonate Grace and return to the Brown family."
"What?" Rachel stood up in shock. "Joseph, are you serious?"
"Yeah, we don't even know where Grace is or how long it'll take to find her."
Rachel nodded. "That's true."
The necklace left by her father was supposed to help her find Grace, but she had no idea what to do once she found her. It was really troubling.
"So we find a girl who looks somewhat like Charlotte or Ethan to impersonate Grace and act as our inside agent," Joseph said, squinting.
Rachel looked at him, "You want her to help us pass on internal information?"
"Yes. Since we started working together, I've been planning to deal with the Brown family, but the results have been mediocre. We need an inside agent to resolve the Brown family issue quickly," Joseph said seriously.
Rachel's heart was pounding. She was tempted but also worried.
"Will this work?" Rachel bit her lip. "What if a DNA test exposes her?"
"Don't worry about that. I have it covered. You just need to tell me if you agree or not," Joseph said, extending his hand.
Rachel hesitated for a moment, then smiled and shook his hand. "Alright then."
Feeling the softness of her hand, Joseph couldn't help but give it a gentle squeeze. He then cleared his throat and said nonchalantly, "Leave it to me. I'll find a suitable candidate within two days. Then you can give me the necklace."
"Okay," Rachel nodded.
Just then, a small figure ran over and hugged her leg. "Uncle's girlfriend."
Kade's innocent voice melted Rachel's heart. She put down her coffee, picked him up, and placed him on her lap. "Kade, are you done playing?"
"Yeah, I'm done. Auntie, let's go ride the spinning teacups!" Kade pointed ahead.
Rachel didn't want to make the decision alone since Joseph was Kade's uncle. She looked at Joseph, who got the hint and smiled. "Let's all go together then."
"Alright," Rachel said, standing up with Kade in her arms.
The three of them walked over to the spinning teacups. Joseph bought the tickets and handed them to Rachel just as his phone rang.
Joseph frowned, feeling a bit annoyed. Who was calling at such a bad time?
Despite his annoyance, he answered the call.
It was his assistant. "Mr. Anderson, there's trouble at the company."
"What kind of trouble?" Joseph's face darkened.
The assistant said, "There's a disturbance at the factory. The situation is getting out of control, and the manager can't handle it."
It sounded serious. Joseph frowned. "I understand. I'll head over right away."
After hanging up, he said to Rachel, "Looks like our amusement park trip is cut short."
Rachel nodded. "Alright, we'll leave it at that for now."
Although she couldn't hear the phone conversation, his expression said it all.
"Kade, we..." Before she could finish, Kade tightened his grip around Rachel's neck. "No, I don't want to leave. I want to stay and play with Uncle's girlfriend."
Joseph was helpless. "If you don't go back, where will you sleep tonight?"
Kade's eyes lit up. "I'll sleep at Uncle's girlfriend's house."
"What?" Joseph was dumbfounded, and Rachel was just as shocked.
Kade cupped her face. "Can I stay at your house? Kade really likes you."
Faced with the child's plea, Rachel couldn't refuse. She finally smiled and nodded. "Alright, Kade can come home with me tonight."
She looked at Joseph. "You go ahead. I'll take Kade to my place later."
"This..." Kade interrupted again, "You go quickly. Come to her house to pick me up tomorrow. Go on."
He urged Joseph while giving him a meaningful look. He thought, 'Uncle Joseph is so clueless. I'm giving him a chance to see Rachel again, and he still doesn't get it.'
Joseph finally got it, a smile flashing in his eyes. Suppressing a laugh, he said to Rachel, "Alright, I'll leave Kade with you and pick him up tomorrow."
"Okay, just call me when you're coming," Rachel nodded.
Joseph glanced at Kade, exchanged a look with him, and then turned to leave.
Not far away, David saw Joseph leave and immediately called Michael, "Mr. Smith."
"What is it?" Michael asked casually from the amusement park staff building's lounge.
David rolled his eyes internally. He knew exactly why he was calling but still asked.
"Mr. Anderson has left the amusement park, but his nephew is still with Ms. Williams," David said, feeling a bit troubled.
He originally thought Joseph would take Kade away, but now it seemed the plan had changed.
