I felt Cade move into his spot next to me in the bed. I turned over to face him. He looked worried. I mind-linked him. "Cade, what happened." "Charlie is here." "What?" "Howi's pack attacked him. There were only five of them who survived. He joined our pack and his four other wolves. They are all now shadow pack." I lay there at him, looking horrified, no doubt. I didn't understand why Howi would go after them. They had nothing to gain by going after them. Charlie's pack was tiny. It's smaller than the Crescent Moon Pack. The whole thing seemed strange.
"Why would he join us? He is an alpha." I mind-linked. "I don't know; he probably was ashamed he let it happen. He didn't think he could build the pack back up. When I was younger, and most of us were slaughtered, we had more than five of us survive, but I don't know how he could rebuild with only five people." I didn't even know what to say. I was just horrified that this had happened. "We are meeting once they get some sleep and are going to get all the details. I don't know what it means that Howi went after them."
I sat up in bed. My stomach was now pronounced. I was halfway through my pregnancy. I slowly got out of bed. I moved slowly these days, a considerable belly slowing me down. Not to mention, I had lots of things to do. "Do you still want me to go to training with everything going on?" "Yeah, just please stay close to Robert, okay." I nodded and went to get dressed. Our pack was much more robust. Their techniques had improved drastically in the last few months. I only demonstrated and mostly helped with the little kids. Which I enjoyed.
I pulled on my high-waisted shorts. They completely covered my stomach, and then a white tank top. The weather had changed, and though we still had a chill, there was no more snow, and I missed it. I dreaded when it started to get hot. I had no experience with the heat. I looked at Cade, who was now looking at me like I was something he could eat. "What?" I signed. "You look hot." I laughed. "You always say that." "Well, it is always true." I continued to braid my hair. "Come here, Luna." He mind linked me. I finished the second braid when I waddled over to him. I did that a lot with my growing stomach.

He thought it was a result of the drug that made me go into heat. But whatever caused the swelling, I could firmly say it was terrible. I would swell up every afternoon and need to stay off my feet to try and bring it down. Cade had wanted me to give up training or doing anything strenuous, but I told him that was not an option. I couldn't just lie in bed all the time.
The doctor was worried that if I didn't slow down, I would need to be put on bed rest, so in order to stop that from happening. I took lots of breaks and naps to reduce the risk of it worsening. They had talked to me about how I may need a c-section when the time came to deliver. I was against that, but if we had to, I would do what I needed to do. Cade's hand moved to my ass. I felt him in my head. "I think you should get undressed." "Cade, I have training." "I could help you train." "Oh yeah, what will you train me to do." "Well, more like practice. You are already so good. But I think having you on all fours would be a perfect way of practicing." "Practicing what?" "Your endurance." He stood and began to kiss my neck. It depends on when Charlie wakes up." "Okay." I understood we could always reschedule if we needed to.
