I had moved everything and organized everything. The Rocker was so comfy, and the bedside sleeper was all setup. The bedside table next to my bed was full of baby clothes. Everything had a place, and I was happy with it. I had spent the whole day with Kimi. While I organized and moved things into the room, she sat in the hallway outside my den and mind-linked me to keep talking. I told her about meeting the Goddess.

She wanted to know everything about her. What she looked like and how she sounded. It was amazing to her and to me as well. I mean, we prayed to her often and celebrated her every year. I still couldn't believe that she had brought me back to life and that I met her. I also told her about what happened with Howi and us running from him.

When I mentioned that the boats had been taken at Crescent Moon Pack, she felt stupid for not noticing it when she was up in the North with the rest of the pack. She agreed that Crescent Moon Pack had to take the boats somewhere, but neither of us had any idea where. Kimi, though, was loving holding Sol. I told Kimi what Cade had said about her being the next alpha, and Kimi couldn't help but be excited about that.

Kimi explained that she loved being mated. She thought it would never happen and couldn't believe that the Goddess had answered her prayers. I was so happy for her. She seemed pleased, and I knew when I watched her holding Sol, she could not wait until she had her own child. I always thought she would have a bunch of kids running around. I had wanted the same thing, but I knew it would never be. It would just be Cade, Myself, and Sol. And I was okay with that.

When I finished, I was famished. I felt like I could eat a whole moose myself. We moved from upstairs to down, and just like Becky said, she had some stuff for me. Nuts, fruits, jerky, and smoked fish. There was so much food for me to snack on. I grabbed a bunch of food and a giant mug of water. Kimi carried Sol, and we went to the basement rec room to sit and relax.

I fed Sol, and Kimi promptly took her back from me after she finished. I almost immediately fell asleep in the recliner in the basement. I didn't realize I had slept so long until Sol started crying, and I needed to feed her again. But while she ate, I fell asleep as she ate. I didn't realize I had fallen asleep again until Cane gently woke me up.

"Hey, love, did you want to eat something?" Cade mind-linked me. I nodded groggily. "Well, dinner is over, but Becky saved you a large plate, and it is in the microwave." I looked around for Kimi. "Where is Kimi?" I signed. "I told her she could go since you were going to be with me." I nodded, and as I started to move, Sol woke up. I knew I needed to feed her before I fed myself. I leaned back into the comfy chair and pulled up the oversized t-shirt.

Cade sat down and watched me. "How did it go with Mark and Charlie?" I mind-linked. "Mark is really stressed about not being able to talk to Helen. He will go to the pack lands we already went to and recheck it out. I think he just wants to do something other than sitting around and waiting." "Well, there is nothing we can do right now other than wait." "That is where I am at right now. I think I am going to take your advice and do nothing. I mean not nothing. We will continue to train, but that is it. I think we will also increase our border." "I think that is a good idea." I mind-linked.

I stuffed my face all the while Cade held our daughter. "You were hungry." He mind linked. "Yeah, I remembered my mother ate a lot while nursing. Becky said I will eat more than most because I am feeding an alpha." Cade smiled. "I was thinking we should talk to the pack tomorrow about Sol. Introduce her and tell them she will be the next alpha. I was going to tell them when I told them we were just waiting for our pack to reach out to do anything. I mean, I will tell them we need some of them to go check out the daybreak pack lands, and a few will need to go to their old lands on the East Coast."

I mind-linked him back. "Do you think they will get over the fact their next alpha will be a female?" "I think so. They will be surprised, but if they can't get behind it, they can challenge me or leave and become rogue. I am firm on this." I nodded. "So, is now a good time to talk about what the Goddess told you, Kaya?" I looked up from my food. I mind-linked him. "She told me that I was mated to you to unite the North and the South. The changes we are making to the pack are good. Going forward, many of the North will be mated to the South, and I was supposed to help packs be more accommodating to the Northerners. She wanted me to help when and if I could."

I continued to mind-link him. "She also told me that Howi was behind the attacks on the North, and there were not enough wolves in the North anymore because Howi was killing off so many packs. Which is why they are being mated to wolves from the South. She said we needed to stop Howi. She also told me there was no right way to have an alpha for a pack and that it didn't matter if they were chosen or born into it. That their gender was unimportant and they could be anyone, I assumed they just had to have alpha blood." I paused for a moment and then went on. "I asked her if she could restore my hearing, and she said no. She also said Sol will be our only child."

Cade nodded but said nothing. I didn't know if he was mad about it. Until the Goddess confirmed it, I didn't know if Sol would be our only child. I hoped the drug that was used on me wouldn't stop me from becoming pregnant in the future, but I knew it could make me infertile. I knew from her that Sol would be our only kid. Cade reached out and placed his hand on mine. "It is alright. Sol is more than enough." I nodded. I felt the same way. "I am sorry she didn't give your hearing back." "I knew it was a long shot. She said I was perfect as I was, and I really am okay not hearing. I just worry Sol will resent me for it." I admitted my fear over the link.

"She won't mind. Her mom is a badass, and she will see that. She will want to be like you even if you can't hear. Your sisters seemed to communicate just fine with you through sign language, and I think Sol will love you and think you are awesome." I smiled at him. "Thanks." I finished the food, and we headed up the stairs to bed.
