I was nowhere as well rested as Cade was. Robert was still sleeping, and I imagined he would spend the next few days doing nothing but sleeping. I convinced Cade to let him sleep. I would just have Kimi with me today. She had shown up outside our door before I had even gotten up. I knew she was anxious to see me. "Cade, I am just going to go get breakfast with Kimi and then begin to sort through all this stuff in the hallway." I mind-linked him as I was taking a shower.

I had missed this. None of us had bathed When we stayed at that rundown motel in the north. We were all too on edge. I felt terrible for the people sitting beside us on the plane. We probably smelt horrible. But Cade had already showered and was getting dressed. He had much he needed to do today, so now I was taking my time. "Okay, just please rest today, okay, don't be out running or hunting or anything." Cade mind-linked me. "Cade, I am not hunting today. Okay, all I am going to do is hang out with Kimi and Sol and try to organize all this shit we have."

"Okay." I smiled as the water rushed over my face. I took time lathering my body in my soap, scrubbing off the awful time we had been having. I brushed my teeth and wore some comfy shorts and an oversized T-shirt. I had some clothes in the hallway that were better for nursing, but I would not go out in the hallway with clothes. I picked up Sol and opened our door. Kimi was standing right there. I knew she would have waited for me to get ready.

Her face said everything she wanted to see Sol. I smiled brightly at her, and she signed, "Can I hold her?" I nodded her and passed Sol over to her. Kimi mind linked me. "Kaya she is beautiful, what is her name?" "Sol." "That is perfect. Oh, my goddess." I couldn't help but smile. Kimi was like a sister to me, and I saw her as a kind of aunt to Sol. "Should we go eat? I am starving?" I signed. "If I can keep holding her, we can do whatever you want." "Good, you carry her, and I will lead the way." I mind-linked.

We took our time getting to the kitchen. Becky was waiting for us. She signed "Luna it is so good to see you. When I felt you." Becky's eyes began to wander as she stopped signing. I pulled her into a big hug and mind-linked her. "It is okay, Becky, I am okay." I watched as she sniffled and pulled back. Then she saw Kimi was holding Sol. "Is that?" She mind-linked, and I nodded. Kimi approached the two of us. "It is?" Becky asked. "Her name is Sol." "A girl." I nodded. "Can I hold her?" I asked Kimi over the link to let Becky have a turn. She reluctantly let Becky hold Sol.

Becky cooed over the little baby. Kimi was getting impatient and wanted to hold her again. I left them doing their thing and made myself a smoothie. I had almost forgotten how much I loved fruit. Then I pulled out some defrosted elk and ate it cold and raw. I was starving, so I pulled several pieces out. While my mother breastfed, she ate more than double what she usually would, so I had that to look forward to.

I stood there, stuffing my face and chugging down my smoothie. I never realized how hungry someone really could be. I felt ravenous. Becky and Kimi, who now held Sol, were staring at me. Becky burst out laughing. She signed. "I have seen nursing mothers eat a lot, but you just scarfed down three elk steaks and a smoothie and so fast, too." I just looked at her, puzzled. Then she went on to sign. "I think you are more hungry because you are feeding a wolf of alpha blood. They tend to be more demanding; at least, that is what I have been told and experienced when Cade was little."

It had not occurred to me that Sol had alpha blood. I knew she would be the next alpha, but I had not thought about her blood being alpha. I had known a few wolves with alpha blood growing up. They were always bigger and stronger than everyone else; Sol would be like that. But unlike them, she would actually be responsible for a pack. "Are you still hungry, Luna?" Becky signed. "No, I think I am okay for now, but thank you." "I know you will be snacking a lot, and I will go ahead and make some things you like. I will label them in the pantry and fridge so you can find them easily." "Thank you so much, Becky." "It is so good you are home." "I am glad to be home."

Kimi carried Sol out of the kitchen, and I followed. We returned upstairs to the hallway, where all the baby stuff was laid out. I mind-linked Kimi. "I have to go through all of this, but I was thinking I could organize it in the hallway and then move it into the den when I knew what everything is." "Sounds like a good plan. I will just sit on the floor and hold this little one, and we can talk while you work." I nodded.

Kimi knew I didn't want anyone touching my stuff. It had already been bad enough that others had packed up the stuff. Their smell would be on it. Hopefully, the stuff didn't smell too much like them. But when I started pulling things out of the boxes, I noticed there was only my smell on them. How could this have happened? Others had their hands all over this stuff. I mind-linked Cade. "How did our stuff get here without other scents on it." "I had the movers wear gloves and plastic suits like they use with biohazard chemicals to move it. I know you are more sensitive than others to smells, and I didn't want you to have to rewash everything." I smiled

Cade had known me too well. Even when we were in serious shit, he kept me and my comfort in mind. I loved that about him. "Later tonight, I will crawl on my knees to you." I mind-linked him. "Goddess Kaya, now I have a fucking hard-on. How am I supposed to be taken seriously when my dick is sticking up in my pants." "I don't know, love, but I owe you, so whatever you want tonight, you get." I smiled, cutting off the mind link.
