34. Cade

Cade

The high schoolers came and surrounded us. I looked at them and began to speak. "So, Luna is going to be giving the lesson today." I looked at Kaya. Signaling it was time for her to mind-link the kids. She looked at them, and I could see she was connecting with each of them, and then she joined with Mark and me. "We are going to be fighting today in your human form. Learning to fight as a human is as important as fighting in your wolf form. It makes us stronger."

One of the boys said something under their breath, and the others began to snicker. Kaya looked at them, and although she hadn't heard them, she saw them smirking. Instead of speaking to them, she grabbed the boy's face. Pinching it with her tiny hands.

I didn't know what she was saying, but the boy considered it a challenge. I felt her in my mind again. "Now, Thomas will help me show you why learning to fight in human form is important. Now, back away and make a square so there is enough space for us to fight."

The kids did as they were told, and I saw the amused look on their faces. Thomas charged her, but she moved to the side and smacked him across his face as he came close. This angered Thomas, and he lunged again without thinking, and she dodged, spun around, and struck the back of his head.

He was getting angry and not even thinking at this point. She kept dodging him and smacking him around. She never threw a single punch. But Thomas was getting embarrassed and angry. All of a sudden, he shifted and charged her.

Kaya didn't move and let him charge her as he went to bite her. She threw her arm out and punched his wolf in the face. She must have commanded him to stop and shift back because he suddenly turned and whimpered. He looked away naked and embarrassed and then moved off to the side. Clearly, this leaves Kaya the victor. Her voice rang out in my head.
"See, keeping your emotions in check when you fight is always important. There is no problem losing your temper, but when you fight, you do not use your anger to fight; if you do, you will not be focused on winning." The kids nodded. She then paired them up, and they began to fight. She turned around, correcting their stance and showing them how to propel their bodies forward to make the most impact. In truth, she was a good teacher. She had been brutal with Thomas, but all she did was smack him; she only actually hit him when he shifted.

The class was finished, and I could tell that the kids were beginning to come around. When the course ended, some of the younger girls came up and tried to flirt with me, but Kaya saw them and growled; they seemed to get the message and ran away. Kaya came up to me, and mind linked. "How did I do?"

"Well, besides kicking that kid's ass, it was great." "What was wrong with me kicking his ass." "Well, I mean, he is a kid." "He should know better than to snicker at me; he should have been paying attention. That shit is bad behavior, and I won't put up with it, Cade."

"Fair enough. I haven't ever seen anyone so tough on kids." "It is how I was raised, and I think I turned out quite well." I then leaned in and gave her a kiss. It was quick and sweet. Mark approached us once all the kids had filled back into the school.

"Luna, thank you. That brat has been getting on my nerves." "Why didn't you do something then, Mark." "I am not the Alpha or Luna. It is not my place to beat the shit out of kids." "She didn't beat the shit out of him." "Well, she definitely did something. His tail was between his legs."

Kaya just smiled. "Well, we are going to head back to the packhouse. Do you want to tag along?" "Yeah, sounds good. " As we walked, I began to talk to Mark. "So, we should send out some invitations tomorrow. I talked to Kaya; she thought having a party and tournament to find Annalise a mate was a good idea. She also wants Crescent Moon Pack to come."
"I knew she would want that. I think it would be a good idea." "See, I don't know. From what I know from Kaya, none of them will marry Annalise unless she is their mate, but I also am wondering if they should just come to be included."
"I don't know. It is a long way, and none of them will go along with an arranged marriage after all." "Okay, I will think about it a bit." When we returned to the packhouse, Kaya went to find Helen, and I went to my office. When I walked in, I saw Annalise sitting in a tiny dress that rode up and almost showed everything. "What do you want Annalise?" "Aren't you happy to see me?"

"Not really, but you are here, so I don't know what you want me to say." "I don't know what you see in that child. I mean, what is she like, twelve." "Why are you even asking. My mate should not concern you at all." "Why are you so mean to me all of a sudden."

"I am not mean to you; I am just tired of you. You know nothing is here, yet you insist on pushing yourself at me." "Come on, Cade, you can't lie to me." She got up and moved around the desk. She placed her hand on my chest and leaned in. As I was about to pull away, the office door opened, and there stood Kaya and Helen. I saw something ignite in Kaya. Before I could stop her, she had crossed the room and grabbed Annalise.
