Chapter 103 Giving Away Seventy-Seven Million Dollars
"Which family are you from? Can I get to know you?" Henry asked.
"No need, you're not qualified!" Charles waved his hand dismissively, not even acknowledging Mr. Hank.
Henry was fuming. He was a big deal in Seattle. No one had ever disrespected him like this, especially not some young guy.
Where did this kid get the nerve to ignore Mr. Hank's authority?
"Alice, don't worry, I'll solve your family's problems!" Charles smiled at Alice.
He then turned to Donna and casually picked up the contract. Donna tried to stop him, but it was too late! Charles's hand was too quick; she couldn't react in time.
Charles flipped through a few pages and laughed."Mr. Mitchell, you undervalued your daughter, didn't you? You sold her off for a mere fifteen million dollars? And sweetened the deal with twenty percent of your company's shares? That's quite something!" he said mockingly.
"How about this, I'll offer seventy-seven million dollars to buy sixty percent of the Mitchell family's Oceanic Trade Ventures' shares. What do you think, Mr. Mitchell?"
The room fell silent.
Charles's appearance didn't match someone who could easily offer seventy-seven million dollars, but he spoke of seventy-seven million dollars like it was nothing. And judging by his demeanor, he seemed to come specifically to stop this marriage.
"Alice, who is this...?" Donna asked, puzzled.
"He's Charles Watson, an old classmate of mine... And he's very wealthy!" Alice answered.
Alice didn't know how to introduce Charles as he wasn't her boyfriend.
But Charles's actions today were very clear!
She added that Charles was very wealthy to ease Donna's doubts.
Her expression was complex, cold towards Donna, but very grateful for Charles's arrival.
"So, Mr. Watson, are you really willing to offer seventy-seven million dollars to buy sixty percent of the Mitchell family's Oceanic Trade Ventures' shares?" Donna asked seriously.
Donna was calculating in his mind. If someone really offered seventy-seven million dollars to buy Oceanic Trade Ventures, he would be willing to sell even the entire company, let alone just sixty percent of the shares.
Oceanic Trade Ventures was on the verge of bankruptcy and wasn't worth that much.
With seventy-seven million dollars, he could easily start a new company.
"Yes, I can offer seventy-seven million dollars, but I have a condition!" Charles sneered and glanced at Alice.
Donna also glanced at Alice and instantly understood.
Mr. Watson was willing to spend seventy-seven million dollars to buy sixty percent of Oceanic Trade Ventures, not because of its value, but for another purpose.
His purpose was the same as Orlando's.
He was also interested in Alice.
But Mr. Watson's offer was higher, and he was more handsome, fitting his daughter's taste.
The glances from Donna and Charles sent a shiver down Alice's spine.
She hadn't expected that Charles's arrival wouldn't change her fate of being treated like a commodity.
In her father's eyes, she was just something to be sold to the highest bidder.
In Charles's eyes, she was also something to be bought.
But she was a person!
Why was she being traded so brutally?
Even though she had some feelings for Charles, she couldn't accept becoming someone's woman in this way.
It was an affront to her dignity, an insult to her humanity!
"Mr. Watson, what are your conditions? Feel free to state them!" Donna urged.
"My condition is simple. Once you transfer sixty percent of Oceanic Trade Ventures' shares to Alice, the seventy-seven million dollars will be transferred immediately!"
Everyone was stunned!
Charles said he would spend seventy-seven million dollars to buy sixty percent of Oceanic Trade Ventures' shares, and he didn't ask for anything in return, but wanted to transfer the shares to Alice?
Alice was also part of the Mitchell family.
Transferring the shares to her meant these shares still belonged to the Mitchell family, which was essentially giving money to the Mitchell family.
Was there really such a person in the world?
At that moment, Alice was moved!
Charles didn't see her as a commodity. He was completely different from Orlando. He simply wanted to help her without asking for anything in return.
This man had a pure heart!
Alice's current affection for Charles skyrocketed to 85.
Alice's eyes welled up with tears of gratitude again.
"Mr. Watson, is this really your only condition?" Donna felt it was too good to be true.
"Of course, what else do you want?"
Donna's words amused Charles. If the shares were transferred to himself, the Special Funds wouldn't be spent. He wouldn't have made such a silly request otherwise!
But Alice didn't know that.
She thought Charles truly loved her so much that he was willing to give everything for her.
Such a man was rare in the world!
Sometimes, girls dreamed of fairy-tale romances.
Charles's actions today were no different from a prince in a fairy tale, even better.
Others might see him as a fool.
But to Alice, he was a savior!
"Mr. Watson, I have no objections. I'll draft a new share transfer contract according to your request now!" Donna said.
There was a printer in the conference room.
Charles's request was so simple that the new contract was drafted by Donna in less than twenty minutes.
Transferring a large portion of the company's shares to Alice didn't matter, as she was still part of the Mitchell family.
Charles was essentially giving seventy-seven million dollars for free.
However, Donna still doubted whether Charles could really come up with seventy-seven million dollars.
"Alice, sign it!" Donna urged.
