Chapter 238 Do You Also Know Charles?

Time flew by, and before we knew it, it was already six in the evening.

"Professors, Charles has some business to take care of and needs to head to the police station with us. Can we put off the medical discussion for now? Do you think Charles, with his current medical knowledge, is ready to get his medical license?" Nancy suddenly asked.

It was getting pretty late, and a bunch of officers, including Mr. Hawthorne, had been waiting around for a good two or three hours.

If we kept talking, we might be here all night!

"Alright, let's wrap it up for today," Dr. Reed said, though he seemed a bit reluctant. He'd gotten a lot out of the discussion.

"I think Charles is more than qualified to pass the medical license exam. In fact, on behalf of Quality Care Hospital, I'd like to offer Charles a position as a doctor. Would he be interested?" Dr. Hall asked.

"Dr. Hall, you're selling him short. With Charles's skills, isn't it a bit of a waste for him to just be a doctor? How about Dr. Watson joins our hospital? I can promise Charles a monthly salary of over ten thousand dollars, and in a few years, it could even hit over a hundred thousand!" Mr. Evans quickly chimed in.

Any other undergraduate would be on cloud nine if they found themselves hired by such a big hospital while still in school.

But this was Charles! He looked totally unfazed.

If he really wanted to be a doctor, he could just open his own hospital. So he said, "Professors, medicine is just a hobby for me. I don't plan on becoming a doctor. So, I'm sorry, but please just issue my medical license quickly so I don't get in trouble for practicing without one!" Charles said.

Hearing Charles's words, everyone glanced at Thaddeus, who was green with jealousy as his pouty mouth gave him away.

"Don't worry, we'll get your information into the medical license records, and your license will be issued soon, probably within a week or two!" An expert said consolingly.

Charles nodded. He knew these things had to go through the proper channels.

After a bit, Charles followed Nancy and got into a police car.

Seeing Charles get into the police car, Alice, Lori, and Jessica, who were standing on the edge of the crowd, frowned. "Hasn't the matter been resolved? Charles passed the medical license exam, so why is he still being taken away by the police?" Jessica asked, worried.

Even though she had said she wanted to get back at Charles and use up his assets, seeing him taken away by the police car still made her worry about him.

Alice felt the same way.

"This whole thing is pretty complicated. Charles getting taken away by the cops might have something to do with the day he saved me," Snow said, feeling guilty and remorseful.

Charles not only got hurt saving her that day, but he also accidentally killed someone, which might be why the police were involved now.

Charles had always been so giving. Even if he liked them all at the same time, they hadn't lost anything. In fact, they'd gained a lot.

Technically, none of them were Charles's girlfriends.

Snow thought Jessica and Alice were two-faced, having no limits when it came to money. But she kept quiet to maintain the current situation.

From now on, she felt no guilt towards Jessica and decided to infiltrate this alliance as an undercover agent.

Maybe she could help Charles avoid major losses.

She believed Charles was smart, and when the time came, he'd figure out who was sincere, who was fake, and who was just after his money!

Snow thought this way.

But funny enough, Alice and Jessica were thinking the same thing—they could be undercover agents too!

In this alliance, each woman had her own agenda!

They weren't really good friends, except for Jessica and Lori, so how could they reveal their true thoughts?

"Snow, what exactly happened when Charles saved you? It sounds serious," Jessica asked.

"Charles killed to save me that day. There were eight robbers in total, and he took three lives. Even though it was self-defense, lives were lost. I think this is going to be a big deal," Snow explained.

"No wonder I saw Charles with bandages on his hands that day. Something that serious happened!" Jessica realized.

"Is Charles really that capable? He actually killed robbers?" Lori was a bit scared!

She had come up with so many bad ideas earlier. If Charles really went bankrupt, would he come after her for revenge?

She was pretty good at coming up with bad ideas, but hearing that Charles had killed robbers almost scared her to death.

"You don't need to worry too much. Since Charles acted in self-defense, the police shouldn't give him a hard time. Besides, he has an unusual background and should be able to handle it himself," Alice said rationally.

"Who's worried about him? I don't care about that jerk!" Jessica said deliberately.

"Right! Even if he saved me, it doesn't change the fact that he's a jerk!" Snow echoed.

At that moment, Roxy, who had been silent, suddenly approached. She noticed that these girls were all very beautiful!

They completely matched her aesthetic preferences, and she began to admire them like a man.

"Hey, girls. Do you also know Charles?" Roxy asked.
