Chapter 183 Enthusiasm That's Hard to Accept
Thinking about it, Snow chickened out on calling Jessica. She felt so guilty, she went with the dumbest plan ever—just waiting it out.
So, around two or three in the afternoon, she showed up at the Phase II apartments, right outside the boys' dorm, and hung around until nine at night.
Yeah, six whole hours.
She wasn't even sure why she was waiting for Charles. Was it for the company's financing talks? Nah, that could wait a day. Truth was, she kinda started to rely on Charles. When he wasn't around, she felt all empty and insecure.
The usually untouchable Campus Princess Snow, waiting outside the boys' dorm for six hours? That blew everyone's minds!
Even when Lacus Magnus University's top Campus Prince Alfonso was chasing after her, she never gave him the time of day.
But now, here she was, waiting for some dude outside the boys' dorm for over six hours? Who the heck was this guy?
Just then, Charles' three roommates came back from gaming at the Internet café.
"Holy crap, Jesse, isn't that your dream girl Snow?" Tom blurted out.
"No way! What do I do? I didn't even fix my hair today."
"Get real, man. Even if your hair was perfect, she wouldn't look at you. But seriously, is she waiting for someone?"
"Should I go add her on Facebook? It's been three years, man. If I miss this chance, I'll never get another!" Jesse hyped himself up, but still didn't have the guts to go over.
Mostly 'cause Snow was just too stunning, making 99% of the guys feel like total losers around her.
But while Jesse chickened out, someone else stepped up!
A skinny dude with black-framed glasses, holding a water bottle, took a deep breath and walked up to Snow. "Hey Snow, I saw you here this afternoon. Want some water? Can I add you on Facebook?"
This skinny dude was Sam Wilson. He looked kinda timid, but not many knew he was the infamous "Keyboard Warrior" online, with a massive following of over five million on Twitter!
"Sorry, I'm waiting for someone," Snow said.
"Snow, I've liked you for years. I don't want much, just to add you as a contact, to quietly follow you. Is that too much to ask...?"
"I don't like you, please go away," Snow shot him down, not even letting him finish.
Since three in the afternoon, over twenty guys had tried their luck with Snow. They offered her food, water, and asked for her contact info in all sorts of ways.
Every single one of them struck out!
Snow was stubborn and kinda extreme, totally different from girls like Lisa and Pamela. Some girls never turned down a guy, always smooth and considerate of their feelings. But then there were girls like Snow, who shut down every guy without a second thought, and she did it with zero respect.
Charles had already gotten a taste of that!
Hearing Snow's harsh words, Sam felt crushed, embarrassed, and frustrated. He couldn't believe his long-time crush had such a cold attitude!
"Jesse, you still wanna go for it?" Tom asked.
"Maybe not. Admiring someone doesn't mean you gotta chase them. Approaching her like this feels creepy. Every guy who tries probably leaves a bad impression. If you can hit on her, you can can hit on anyone, which makes you look like a player. Real social interaction needs the right setting and vibe. Just walking up to someone is too abrupt," Jesse said, shaking his head and adding his own theory.
"Alright, stop making excuses. You just don't have the guts, admit it!" Tom laughed.
Just then, Snow's icy face suddenly lit up with a smile. It was like the ice melted and spring sunshine filled the earth. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, like azaleas blooming all over the mountains.
"When Snow smiles, she looks like an angel!"
"I've never seen Snow smile before. I wanna protect that smile forever!"
"That smile is too beautiful, but too bad it's not for me!"
Snow stepped forward, smiling, and walked towards the boys' dorm. She picked up speed, and after a few steps, she started running. Then, she threw herself into a guy's arms, burying her head in his chest.
"Charles? Oh my god!"
"The Campus Princess Snow threw herself into a guy's arms? I can't believe it!"
"Charles! That jerk was flirting with Campus Princess Lewis, and now Snow's into him too?"
"Damn it, why does a jerk like Charles get all the girls, but nice guys like me get nothing?"
A wave of resentment and anger swept through the boys' dorm. If looks could kill, Charles would be dead a thousand times over!
Charles was just as confused, having just dropped Alice off at Lindell Academy—when did Campus Princess Snow get so forward?
"Snow, this is kinda hard to take in. We're not that close. Aren't you being a bit too forward?" Charles said, feeling a bit speechless.
Snow used to be so cold to him, but now she was all over him. It was hard to wrap his head around.
