Chapter 221 Emily Confesses
"Hey, why don't we swap Facebook contacts? You all seem pretty cool, and I bet our future hangouts will be a blast!" Lori suddenly suggested.
"Sure thing! Alice and Charles go way back to high school, and Charles and I are college buddies. We already have mutual friends, so let's add each other on Facebook and hang out when we can!" Jessica said with a smile. She looked like she genuinely wanted to be friends with Alice, but she was really just trying to figure things out.
Even though Snow had mentioned that Alice and Charles were high school classmates, Jessica wasn't buying it. If they were just old classmates, why would the Lindell Academy princess come all the way to Lacus Magnus University to see Charles? Jessica wasn't dumb. She could tell there was more to their relationship.
So, she decided to add Alice on Facebook first. Whether friend or foe, she'd find out soon enough!
"Sure!" Alice smiled back. She also felt something was off. Charles was such a catch, it was no surprise girls at Lacus Magnus University liked him.
Was Jessica one of them? If so, it was smart to keep an eye on a potential rival.
After many tests, Alice trusted Charles's character a lot. This guy had saved her in high school, helped her family during a financial crisis, and even bought her a $400 million building. Those actions screamed long-term plans.
What guy would spend that much money on a girl he didn't plan to marry? Only a guy who saw a future with you would be that generous.
Alice thought this way, and she believed Charles did too. In her mind, his actions were clear indicators of his intentions.
At least when Charles spent money on her, it was truly selfless, without thinking about gains or losses! This selflessness only reinforced Alice's belief in the sincerity of his feelings.
Jessica felt the same way. Why else would Charles give her a $77 million crystal piano? And he even bought her a big villa. Wasn't that a hint to settle down?
Now, Jessica and Alice were smiling at each other politely, but inside, they were already rivals.
Then there was Snow. She knew Charles had some ambiguous relationships with Jessica and Alice, but she didn't know the details.
She only knew that Charles had given her $150 million worth of Koi Tech shares, so maybe Charles really wanted to choose her? But she was always too shy to go after her own happiness.
What a weird situation. All three girls had received "huge" gifts from Charles, and they all felt he had done the most for them! But they weren't the type to show off, so they kept it to themselves. This led to an unspoken tension among them, as none of them were aware that the others had also been recipients of Charles's generosity.
Charles watched the four girls, chatting and laughing, pulling out their phones to swap contact info. He felt so nervous he almost wanted to puke. He was sure he was doomed.
Leo stood by, watching with a cold smirk. He had thought about stepping in, but now it seemed pointless. These girls, all with some kind of thing going on with Charles, had already added each other on Facebook.
Charles's embarrassment was a done deal, and Leo didn't need to say a word. He just wanted to see how long Charles could ride this wave of so-called victory.
After the Facebook exchange, Alice, Snow, Jessica, and Lori—the four most stunning girls around—walked almost in sync towards Charles.
Charles tried to keep a calm face, forcing a smile, but inside, he was freaking out. He started reciting the Bible in his head, but it wasn't helping at all! As the girls got closer, he knew today's embarrassment was unavoidable.
"Charles, I like you. Will you be my boyfriend?" Just as Charles was lost in thought, a girl suddenly appeared behind him, holding a bouquet of flowers, and confessed to him right there!
This girl was tall, about 5'7", with a pretty face and a generous chest. Who else could it be but Emily?
Emily, confessing to Charles with a bouquet in front of everyone, instantly drew a crowd.
Leo's face darkened. How could Emily, his ex-girlfriend, have no shame? She was confessing to another guy with flowers, right in front of him!
Emily, with her looks and figure, throwing modesty out the window to confess in front of everyone, took some serious guts!
A girl chasing a guy was always easier than the other way around, and Emily had a lot going for her. Her chances of success were pretty high!
"Charles, please be with me. I want to be your girlfriend. Although we've known each other for less than a month, ever since you smoked everyone on the track, you've been stuck in my head."
"I've been watching you from afar. You're amazing at basketball, and you play the piano. Leo can't hold a candle to you. Every time you show up, my heart skips a beat, and I can't help it."
"I admit, I've fallen for you. My feelings don't lie."
"Charles, I like you!" Emily said the last part loudly, and then she actually knelt on one knee with the bouquet in front of the crowd.
Everyone was stunned! "Charles is so lucky! Why doesn't a girl confess to me like this?"
"I'm jealous. This is the first time I've seen a girl kneel to confess. Isn't that usually a guy's job?"
"Why hesitate? She's gorgeous, just say yes already!"
"Say yes!" A group of enthusiastic onlookers started clapping and cheering.
