Chapter 200 Conflict
"Alright, Ms. Mitchellng!" Mark Hall nodded and turned to Manager Baker. "Yo, Manager Baker, about that renewal thing your store was talking about earlier, forget it. Ms. Mitchellng already said the word, you get what that means, right?"
"Ms. Mitchellng? She's Ms. Mitchellng?" Donny Baker was totally floored.
He'd heard yesterday that the Gold Trade Building had a new owner. Someone dropped four hundred million bucks on it, and it was some young chick named Mitchellng.
Today, he planned to meet this big shot and say hi. But who would've thought the hot girl in front of him was actually Mr. Mitchellng?
Ryan was also kinda shocked. He didn't expect the babe he was trying to hit on had such a crazy background.
The owner of the Gold Trade Building? Just the building alone was worth four hundred million dollars!
No wonder she didn't give a damn about money; turns out she was loaded herself!
'Man, she's rich and drop-dead gorgeous, she's on a whole different level compared to the regular chicks at the office. Only a girl like her can match my status!' Ryan thought to himself.
Now, he was even more into Alice!
The rich kids these days were getting smarter. They might date hot girls, but in the end, they'd marry someone on their level.
Alice was definitely the dream girl in Ryan's eyes.
As for Charles, Ryan looked down on him even more, thinking he must be some kind of gigolo!
The clothes he wore were obviously cheap stuff bought online, probably just under a hundred bucks.
Could a loser like that be worthy of Alice?
"Mr. Turner, what do you think...?" Donny Baker was almost in tears.
The barbecue joint had been shut down for half a year due to the lockdown.
Now that business was finally picking up, who knew they'd get kicked out by the landlord?
How could such bad luck happen?
If this branch got booted from the Gold Trade Building because of him, he wouldn't be far from getting canned!
"Manager Baker, I can't handle this. But you just wait, this ain't over today!" Ryan spat out, took out his phone, and stormed out of the barbecue joint while making a call.
Since he got kicked and slapped, how could he let this slide? He had to get back at Charles and show them what real power was!
He, Ryan, was once one of the young elites in Seattle. He'd just gone to New York to have some fun for half a year, and now, he got beaten by a gigolo after coming back for a few days.
He couldn't stand it.
"Hey! Mr. Campbell, it's me. I got beat up, get over here, I need to deal with this guy!"
"Hey! Mr. Cunningham, I just got back from Nuw Yark. I'll fill you in later, but get the guys over here. I got slapped, man, you think I can just let that slide?" Ryan made over a dozen calls and dropped the location!
Luckily, his crew was still tight.
Except for a few who were really tied up with important stuff, the rest all said they'd come through.
Mr. Turner's name still carried some weight.
"Mr. Turner, I think the other guy's background might be pretty serious too. Maybe we should avoid unnecessary trouble?" Cindy, the genius director who walked out with Ryan, suggested.
Cindy had seen it all clearly.
Charles had slapped Mr. Turner without a second thought, business card and all, showing he didn't give a damn about Mr. Turner's status.
Maybe Charles' background was even more impressive!
"Cindy, I don't like what you're saying. If you got hit, could you just act like nothing happened? I remember you used to be pretty cocky and confident. What happened? How'd you turn into such a wimp?
You got scared off by one little setback!
No wonder your movies are getting worse, just like you, a piece of trash!" Ryan sneered with disdain.
Cindy wasn't really his friend, just someone introduced by one of Ryan's buddies, looking for investment.
"Mr. Turner, you can insult me, but you can't insult my movies!"
"I just did, so what? Your movies are trash, and trash can't be criticized? What genius director, do you think it's still the old days? Let me tell you, you're not even as good as a third-rate director now. Your wife left you, and you swallowed your pride. I've never seen such an idiot like you! Do you think you can still make it in the industry after pissing off Mr. Lee? You're dreaming!" Ryan mocked without holding back.
Hearing his words, Cindy's forehead veins bulged, and his eyes turned blood red.
In the past, if someone dared to say such things to him, he would have probably grabbed a knife and fought. But now, his former arrogance was gone.
The reason he had fallen to this point was all because of Rex.
His ex-wife was a top-tier celebrity, and they once had a happy family.
He had achieved great success when he was young, full of talent.
But one day, he discovered that his wife had been sleeping with Mr. Lee, and even after marriage, she kept up the affair!
So he got furious and publicly splashed a drink on Mr. Lee at a dinner party.
And then he was done!
From a genius director, he fell from grace!
He had put in countless efforts to make a comeback, but someone always sabotaged him.
Maybe, he would never have the chance to regain his former glory!
He had thought about finding a big shot of the same level to fight against Rex, but obviously, people at that level wouldn't offend someone like Rex for a fallen director!
