Chapter 170 Applying Medicine for You
She took a quick look at the bearded dude wheezing on the ground. His chest was all messed up, like someone had punched him so hard it broke his ribs and messed up his insides.
Then she turned to Charles.
She was totally floored!
Eight tough guys had this whole plan to kidnap some rich person.
They picked their target at random to play it safe and even had someone on the inside!
Then Mr. Smoke got caught in their trap, along with this delicate girl who seemed like dead weight?
And yet, those eight thugs got almost completely taken out?
This guy, who looked kinda skinny, was actually a total beast?
Wasn't he supposed to be some rich kid?
A fancy dude who could play the piano and dance.
How the heck were his fighting skills on par with a special forces badass?
"Both of you, please cooperate and come to the police station to give a statement!"
"Okay!"
Soon enough, the ambulance showed up!
Around 3:30 AM, Charles and Snow got taken to the police station to give their statements!
"Officer Hawkins, the injury reports for those robbers are in. Two of them died during treatment 'cause their injuries were so bad. Of the remaining five, two have busted ribs, one with six broken bones, another with seven, and they're still in critical condition. Two others have broken pelvises and multiple fractures from falls. The last one has shattered limbs and an eye injury; even if he recovers, he's probably gonna be stuck in a wheelchair!"
"Also, we ID'd these guys. They're definitely suspects in a bunch of kidnapping and extortion cases, and some are fugitives. Once they're stable, we'll ramp up the interrogation!"
Looking at the injury report, Nancy felt a bit dizzy.
"Jones, what kind of person do you think could break six or seven ribs with one punch?"
"I think maybe a world boxing champ could do it, but this Charles guy, he's way smaller than a champ. He even looks kinda thin!"
"Alright, are their statements recorded?" Nancy tried to keep her cool and asked.
"Basically, no issues. Their stories match, and based on the scene investigation, it looks like self-defense. Maybe these robbers just had the bad luck to run into such a badass?"
"Okay! After recording the statement, let Snow go first. I need to talk to Charles alone!"
At 6 AM.
"Miss Green, you can leave now. There are no major issues, but if the police need to call you in the future, you gotta cooperate!" a cop said to Snow.
"Okay, officer. Can Charles leave too?"
"Not yet. Officer Hawkins still needs to question him!"
"Then I'm not going anywhere. I'll stick around for him!"
Snow said firmly.
After staying up all night and going through all that craziness, Snow was totally wiped out and just wanted to crash somewhere.
But Charles was still getting grilled, and she was worried sick about him.
He hit so hard he actually killed someone!
Even if they were robbers and it was self-defense, who wouldn't be freaked out in that situation?
While hanging out at the police station, Snow got the VIP treatment. Someone brought her water and food, and the male officers even found her a spot to lie down and rest while she waited!
Guess that's the power of being good-looking.
Charles got taken to a separate interrogation room.
Inside, it was just him and Nancy.
The kicker? Nancy had turned off the surveillance cameras.
She brought in breakfast and handed it to Charles.
"Eat something first!"
Charles didn't waste any time and started wolfing down the food!
Looked like his appetite was back with a vengeance!
Watching him chow down on the breakfast she bought, and enjoying it so much, Nancy felt pretty pleased with herself.

Charles felt a bit speechless. Eating breakfast could boost favorability?
Nancy's job did catch Charles off guard, but thinking about it, it kinda made sense.
"Officer Hawkins, when can I leave? I got something important this afternoon!" Charles asked between bites.
"Do you really not want to hang out with me? And, what's your deal with Snow?" Nancy squinted her eyes and asked.
"Nothing much. We go to the same school, but we're not close. She was repping KoiApp yesterday and wanted to ask me for funding, so she hopped in the taxi with me. Who knew we'd end up in this mess!"
Charles shrugged and laid it out straight.
Sure enough, besides that two-faced Grace, this Snow was also not simple.
'Were these two women willing to get involved for money?' Nancy thought.
Snow was too gorgeous, which made Nancy feel a bit threatened!
The guy in front of her was just too amazing!
Besides being rich, generous, handsome, loyal, and willing to spend money, he was a world-class pianist, a top-tier dancer, and even his combat skills were at a special forces level!
He was really a true gem.
Nancy had to admit, she was starting to like Charles!
In fact, she had a bit of a crush on him during the banquet last night, and now, after getting to know him better, she liked him even more!
"So that's how it is. You're injured; let me bandage you up!"
Nancy took out a first aid kit and grabbed Charles's hand.
"Officer Hawkins, isn't this a bit inappropriate?There should be boundaries between men and women!"
"Don't move! I'm putting on medicine! You're an adult. Are you worried I'll get too close?"
