Chapter 147 The Same Style of Clothes
Arriving at Thousand Oaks Shopping Plaza, Charles bought a rather expensive suit.
Tonight, he was attending a charity dinner, and if he continued to show up in his classic look of flip-flops, shorts, and messy hair, he felt it would attract too much attention.
It was better to keep a low profile and not make himself too unconventional.
There was no need to emphasize how different he was from others.
Around seven in the evening, Charles finished his meal, changed into his suit, and took a taxi to the Ramada Five-Star Hotel because he had already given his sports car to Grace.
The Bugatti Veyron he had ordered from Emperor Car would take some time to get.
For now, he had to take a taxi.
Actually, this was quite good.
You couldn't drink if you were driving.
Hiring a driver was a hassle, and finding a parking spot took forever.
There were just too many cars in big cities nowadays.
Even though most people could afford a car, they found that driving very inconvenient, since they always had to look for parking spots and get stuck in traffic.
In bustling commercial centers, parking was restricted everywhere, and even underground parking lots were full.
Riding a bike might be better than driving out!
Charles hadn't thought about it this way before, but after driving for a few days, he finally realized that driving had its inconveniences too.
The Ramada Five-Star Hotel seemed very lively today.
As soon as Charles got out of the taxi, he noticed that the hotel's usually spacious parking lot was already filled with luxury cars.
Cars like BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes, and Porsche Cayennes were the lowest level of luxury cars.
High-end luxury cars like Rolls-Royce Dawsn, Bentley Mulsannes, Aston Martins, McLarens, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis were everywhere, and made up almost half of the cars.
And even though it wasn't eight o'clock yet, there were already over a hundred luxury cars in the parking lot. There were probably more to come, and they would be more impressive.
Half of Syeattel's wealthy circle were gathering here tonight!
Charles had just stepped out of the taxi, about to head to the hotel lobby when a very familiar Ferrari LaFerrari drove past him unexpectedly.
"Is that...?"
The $3 million LaFerrari stopped, and a fashionable young man with an earring stepped out.
"Matthew, you actually got a LaFerrari?" A young man who had also stepped out of a luxury car exclaimed in shock.
"This is a $3 million luxury car. I wonder who he is?"
"He's so handsome! I'll remember this guy, don't you compete with me for him later!" A tall, sexy woman in a red backless evening dress said to her friends.
Charles had a good guess who this guy was. It had to be Matthew, Grace's brother.
Since he had a sister as beautiful as Grace, Matthew's genes weren't bad either. He looked like a Hollywood star.
'But I just gave the car to Grace a few days ago. And now he's driving it to show off?
'If Grace gave the car to him, I'll have a much lower opinion of her!' Charles thought.
"Hey handsome, can we add each other on Facebook? Can I ask you to dance later?"
"Sure, beautiful!" Matthew took out his phone and smiled nonchalantly.
It was a different feeling, driving a million-dollar luxury car; a beautiful woman had approached him so quickly!
"Bro, don't be envious. People like us are just different from these top-tier rich kids!" A burly man in a suit patted Charles on the shoulder.
It was then that Charles realized that the clothes he had bought today looked a bit like the hotel security uniform. They were all wearing the same suits and ties.
'Since when did hotel security personnel become so handsome? Every one of them one looks as cool as a bodyguard! This is a bit awkward!' he thought.
At this moment, Charles realized that times seemed to have changed.
When he had seen high-end parties on TV, all the men wore suits and ties, but now it wasn't like that at all.
Maybe all the women would be dressed beautifully, most in evening dress.
But the young men attending the banquet were more rebellious. Each suit was more flamboyant than the last. They just wanted to be different!
Some even came in pajamas.
Flip-flops and big shorts were not uncommon.
'Who knows who started this trend? Anyway, it's all about individuality! It's not my style to be the same as everyone else! Even the world's youngest billionaire, Mark Zuckerberg, attends world-class business gatherings in flip-flops and pajamas,' he thought.
Of course, many people didn't want to wear formal attire, possibly because the weather was hot, which was part of the reason why they hadn't.
The suit Charles bought looked exactly like the hotel security uniform.
At this moment, an even more impressive supercar arrived.
"A Pagani Huayra, that's a $4.6 million luxury car!"
"Isn't that even more impressive than the guy with the LaFerrari?"
"It's the second son of the Sullivan Family, Alfonso. As far as I know, there's only one Pagani Huayra in all of Syeattel, and it's owned by the Sullivan Family!"
A group of socialites buzzed with discussion.
At this moment, Alfonso drove the car to the hotel entrance, casually tossing the keys to the valet with a smooth and effortless movement.
He was dressed in a bespoke Armani suit, standing tall at six feet one with striking good looks. His hairstyle was crafted by a professional designer, and on his wrist, he wore a Patek Philippe worth 1.2 million dollars.
As soon as he appeared, he attracted the attention of all the socialites.
He was handsome, tall, young, and charismatic, had a $30 million car, and was the second son of the Sullivan Family, any one of these traits would attract many women.
And all these advantages were concentrated in one person.
It was hard not to notice him!
Alfonso had attended these events before, so he was more composed than Matthew.
In fact, Matthew couldn't compare to Alfonso at all!
At this moment, Alfonso unexpectedly saw a familiar face.
'Charles? Is it really him? And he's wearing a security uniform? It's summer break, so has he come to the Ramada Five-Star Hotel to work as a part-time security guard?' Alfonso thought.
Alfonso laughed on the spot when he saw Charles.
'You didn't respect me at school. I thought you were supposed to be great at basketball. You're so arrogant,' he thought.
