Chapter 122 Balance the Basic Attributes a Bit
Charles thought this woman might be paranoid.
She was overly cautious.
He concluded it was better not to provoke her.
And she was a lesbian.
No one was perfect.
God gave her almost perfect looks, but her personality was flawed.
'Whatever. I don't care about your opinion anyway!' he huffed.
Charles drove back to school.
He'd been test-driving this LaFerrari for a couple of days and thought it was fine. He should probably return it soon.
The owner hadn't asked for payment yet, but he didn't like owing money.
At 10:30 PM, Charles got back to the dorm.
Daniel suddenly messaged him.
Daniel: [Bro, I've decided. I'm moving on from Michelle. She doesn't deserve my kindness!]
Charles asked: [Got a new target?]
Daniel: [Damn! How'd you know?]
Charles: [It's obvious. Best way to forget a woman is to find another. Congrats, Daniel. Who's the new girl?]
Daniel: [She's from our school, in the foreign languages department, same class as Alice. She's talented and beautiful!]
Charles replied: [Good luck, I'm rooting for you!]
Daniel joked: [But I don't want just your support. Can I get some financial backing?]
Charles knew Daniel was kidding.
They'd been friends for over ten years.
He knew Daniel was introverted, liked to show off his literary side, and was a bit childish. Daniel never took advantage of friends, even when borrowing cigarettes. If he borrowed two, he'd return two next time.
He rarely asked for money.
Even if he was in trouble, he'd endure it and not bother others.
If you gave him money, he'd think you looked down on him!
Charles: [Alright, how much do you need? I'll transfer it!]
Daniel: [Forget it, I'm joking. I want to ask her to a movie tomorrow, but I don't know if she'll agree!]
Charles encouraged: [Go for it, believe in yourself. You're great too!]
He felt Daniel, influenced by him, should start evolving too.
You couldn't be a simp forever.
Charles: [Daniel, unleash your potential!]
After chatting with Daniel for a while, Charles started reviewing his homework.
After neglecting his studies for so long, it was time to be productive!
He wasn't aiming for grad school, but he needed to graduate smoothly.
He had to make up for the courses he failed.
After four years of college, he had to give himself and his parents an explanation.
Since Charles had enhanced his mental strength by 5 points, he found his neural responses were faster, and his memory was improving.
If it was just a normal passage, he only needed to silently recite it ten times to remember it completely.
This wasn't quite photographic memory, but it was a big improvement from before.
'I still have 40 enhancement points left. If I add them all to mental strength, I wonder what would happen? Maybe I could get a photographic memory! But enhancement points are valuable. I shouldn't use them all at once. The basic attribute numbers on the system interface don't look good. Should I round them up?' Charles thought.
He had a bit of OCD.
He liked seeing whole numbers, not scattered ones.
His current basic attributes were Strength: 29, Constitution: 29, Agility: 19, Mental: 15.
These weren't whole numbers, and it bothered him.
"System, enhance Strength +1, Constitution +1, Agility +11, Mental +15!" Charles commanded.
"This enhancement will deduct 28 enhancement points. Do you wish to continue?"
"Enhance!"
"Enhancement successful! You now have 12 enhancement points remaining!"
The next second, Charles felt a warm current flowing through his body, especially in his mind, like a moment of enlightenment, a cool sensation flowing through.
He felt like an explosion had gone off in his mind.
He felt his thoughts becoming clearer, his thinking more agile, and he felt more energetic.
[Name: Charles.
Age: 21
Height: 71 inches
Weight: 150 pounds
Strength: 30
Constitution: 30
Mental: 30
Agility: 30
(Average level for a normal adult is 10)
Status: Extremely healthy.
Enhancement points: 12]
"This looks much better, much more balanced!" he muttered.
All his attributes were now three times stronger than an average person.
When Charles continued studying, he found his memory had indeed improved significantly.
If it was a normal passage, within a hundred words, he could remember it after reading it two or three times.
This was already very powerful!
Continuing to enhance his mental attributes to achieve photographic memory seemed entirely possible.
And not just memory enhancement, his understanding of mathematical formulas and reasoning abilities also seemed to have improved significantly.
"Charles, you're actually studying? Am I seeing this right? Have you turned over a new leaf?" Jesse asked in surprise when he returned to the dorm.
"Is it strange to study? As a student, isn't it natural to study?" Charles retorted.
"Alright, I was going to ask you to play games with me. By the way, I just saw Lisa downstairs again. She arranged candles in the shape of a heart with a message that read, 'Charles, I was wrong.' A lot of guys have started to gather around!"
"Charles, I think Lisa is sincerely repentant this time. She gave you gifts on the first day, and on the second day, she publicly apologized. For a girl to go to this extent, I truly admire her. Even as a man, I might not have the determination to take such actions!" Robert sighed.
'Rachel would never do something like that for me in this lifetime,' he thought.
